Amy Gardner's First Journal - Outdoor - Critical Cure & Chaos In The Forest

Yes! I was on the phone and Amy beat me to it :). I find straight oil better and actually less greasy in the end over the stuff I made with beeswax as a thickener. And high THC is a must. I use a spreadsheet from Oldbear to calculate the percentages to make sure I'm over the 10 mg/ml I find helpful. (I can post a link and instructions if anyone's interested, or just PM me.)

According to SweetSue, CBD works as an internal anti-inflammatory and isn't useful as a topical.

My recipe for oil is simple:
Decarbed bud (lots of it) crumbled, grapeseed or pumpkin seed oil (both absorb quickly) or fractionated coconut oil (not the regular stuff) if you like a more oily oil.

Into a crock pot or a pot or a magic butter machine or a jar in the oven, all should be around 180º F for 6-8 hours. Shake/stir as often as you can. Let it cool. Strain and use!
Love it Shed . Thank You

Ask any questions you think of (here or on my thread if you like). I've researched this extensively. And I can't say I have the only recipe, but I definitely have one that works!
I was looking at your threads when i was lurking anomously Shed and was like when is this guy gonna get some lights lol

[edit: So many people like this oil that there are folks in my office who have bottles of it at home and stop by my desk to use mine when they're here!]

Duct-tape-ologist???

I’m going to have to check out his works! I used to be known in a particular circle as ‘the queen of gaff’ because of my ability to wield a roll of gaffer’s tape to fix just about anything (including once a guitar, and a window frame!). Must check out Dabber’s ‘duct-tape-ology’!

Dropping in to share a few pics of the recovering Golden Tiger x Northern Lights. Looking heaps better. Didn’t spot any significant bug/mite activity. WHich pleases me because I didn’t spray this one and it’s where those 2 funky predators were, so I let it be, just to see, and it seems fine :) It’s nearly ripe too, no new pistils for a couple of days and the freshest ones are starting to turn...

I had to trim one of the top colas from it one about a week ago, to catch some rot very early. I salvaged quite a bit of it and have been vaping it the last 2 days. It’s uber potent :slide: Hard to tell if it’s as energising as one might expect because I curently have shingles, so am even more energy smashed than usual. It’s certainly physically relaxing and has some effect on neuropathic pain. And it makes me smile a lot so all in all a pretty wonderful plant.

Tomorrow is an oil making day :cheer: I have help lined up. I’m so in need of the topical! Can’t wait!

:Namaste:

Yay for harvest! Boo to shingles!

The effect on my neuropathic pain is amazing. It’s like cannabis disconnects the link between the sensation in my leg and my brain processing that sensation as pain. I still feel sensation in the leg, it just doesn’t hurt. It’s amazing.

Wow, Amy.....sorry about the shingles. Sounds like you rarely get a break.......

Hope the meds totally annihilate the pain.

The cross looks happy, but I'm focused on the fact that you let the ground cover grow in that pot! I would have ripped that out at first sprout as I do in all my potted plants (especially my edibles). Very brave you are.

Sorry about the shingles . Do topicals help with that?

could you elaborate on your reasonings for that shed? I have been under the impression that a good cover crop can be beneficial to the soil.

sorry to hear about the shingles amy! Hope youre feeling better soon.

@Amy Gardner - happy harvest times around here for sure. Can you believe we made it for harvest April 20, 2018!
Every time I see your photos, it feels so homey.

BTW I wanted to ask you, why does your profile statement not reflect your MOTM title?

So what's next on the growdar, indoor or continue with outdoor?

Some plants do well with soil cover, some hate it (lemon trees come to mind). But in a pot with limited space for roots and competition for nutrients I think it's a bad combo.

fair enough. I can see why it could be detrimental in a smaller pot, depending on what is in your cover crop... The guy i was thinking about uses 200gallons bags and grows trees... Always said cover crop was beneficial... Cant remember his reasonings.... Google "jay plantspeaker instagram"... Use to follow him before i grew tired of the "insta-drama" and got rid of it
