One of the side effects of the kind of trouble-shooting i had to do lately is that I end up without the energy to post about anything else much. There’s been plenty else going on.

I have a run of small oil batches halfway through the process and I’ll be infusing the oil today - I’ve been documenting that so will post it later today once infusion is done.

I’ve also been approached a bit recently to help folks who are interested in treating with cannabis, for pain and other things. I just this morning spent some time putting together some basics for someone i’m going to consult with tomorrow and may make some oils for - or help them make their own. I wrote up an intro page for them and included these links. I think these provide a really great introductory overview so i’m going to post them here, to have them all in one place :), and in case they prove useful for anyone stopping by.

There’s nothing much about terpenes there yet - but that will come later. I think these are a great start for people with little to no experience in cannbabis, or no experience using it in different ways for different therapies.

Edit: I might as well include a link on terpenes

And because I feel weird if I haven’t posted a picture of some of my weed for a day or so... here’s part of a birthday care package that’s getting sent to a very special young friend of mine next week  who always loves my little descriptions of what to expect. I try to bring a little of the dispensary experience, so folks can learn about different kinds of weed and become a discerning consumer :thumb: These are all for recreation ... uni students :nerd-with-glasses:

I get so excited to share it. :ganjamon:

:thumb: knew you’d appreciate that!

I was just reading the 9 things about the ECS thing and get this

#5) Do terpenes also interact with the ECS?
The current understanding is that terpenes generally do not interact with the ECS but rather other parts of your physiology.
The exception would be beta-caryophyllene (also found in black pepper).
Researchers have found this terpene actually binds with CB2 receptors, acting as an agonist or activator.
This finding would suggest that the terpene beta-caryophyllene is actually a cannabinoid

Very interesting. @Radogast ages ago tipped me onto the fact that cracked black pepper can be really effective to ease things for someone experiencing the “oh shit! i had too much!” problem. Grinding pepper and taking in the aroma will ease it. This goes some way to explaining why/how that happens! :nerd-with-glasses:

I went back and edited a link on terpenes into that post as well :)

Great, thanks!

I’m really happy to be finally getting this side of my canna-life into the journal content. It’s going on all the time, I just don’t always have the energy to post about it. Getting some loads off my mind with the garden has freed me up a bit - pest wrangling, the rain shelter, watering system, the starvation fade etc., all sorted! Couple of weeks more with the grow routine and the annual harvest festival will begin:cheer:

Oh, I completely glossed over your intro in my reply...
:welldone: on becoming a canna-mentor! You certainly have the experience to help others with wellness through cannabis.

Totally agreed, AG.

Thanks Shed buddy!

I have 2-3 humans and a canine I’m helping out. Today I was able to write a brief overview in one page without looking a single thing up. It flowed easily and covered the basic picture that all those links then expand upon. It was a great feeling to have all of the last 18 months of imbibed knowledge come out so comfortably.

It all started here on 420 Magazine and I don’t think I will ever leave this forum as long as it exists. It’s one thing to search the internet and find web pages full of info etc. What happens here in relation to that info is where deeper and discerning learning takes place - becasue we question things and each other and bring different perspectives and share quality info and lots of powerful anecdotes. All this makes it possible to navigate through all the crap to find the good stuff!

don't see mention of using destress, I think that would help too
And thanks for reminding me. It got pushed out between mite treatments and Brix/SO and I havent given any Destress for about 3 weeks.

Destressed everyone this morning. I was de-stressed already ;)

In future i will consider that if i’m at all stressed about the plants, then the plants could probably benefit from some Destress - that should help me remember!

Sweet little care package Amy! I’m sure they will love it! It’s always good to inform the smokers of what they are taking in!

A common thing folks tell me is that anywhere else they get it from, the question from the supplier is always “you want bush or hydro?” [you have to say that in the dopey Australian accent too]

So in this country, the term ‘hydro’ has come to be used for anything not grown outside. I had a ridiculous conversation with someone recently who I’ve known all my life, and who introduced me to cannabis in fact, because according to him, the Blue Dream i grew was hydro cause i grew it inside under lights :laughtwo: He gets it now - but he still calls it hydro cause that’s been the mythical urban use for sooo long.

... hehehe “bush or hydro?” I’m so far away from that scene no and i’m so happy about that!
