Amy Gardner’s High Brix Dreams

That's a great thread for bigger plants but probably way too much water for an auto sprout.

You're right. The watering technique seems geared toward once the plant is growing fairly well. the idea of a dry cycle up to the first sign of wilting can be really helpful to make sure we encourage those roots to get out there and find that moisture!
That still applies to seedlings. I dropped the link, not for you already accomplished growers, but for any who might be reading this. If one person finds the thread and has a light bulb moment well..:yahoo:

Happy Friday y'all!

Yippee! My raised bed is amendable for the Brix kit. I haven’t seen the spreadsheet on it yet that will show me the balance of things left at the moment (I didn’t grow anything in it after last seasons canna grow) and there’s a lack of micros but that’s ‘fixable’.

I’ve been using the parch-soak watering method in veg for a while now, even before I started in the kit, and it works great. I have seen a few folks say that autos don’t like it so much tho so I’ll heed that advice dynamo and aim to catch them before they’re fully parched.

if my ‘2 to a pot’ transplant doesn’t go well, I have plenty of seeds to drop 4more autos in plenty of time - and besides, I reckon I can get it to work. This DBHBB caper makes things so easy for us, I have to give myself a fun challenge or two! Could’ve done without the challenge of the gnats tho. When I soaked the 1g pots ready for seeds, about 20 alighted out of the soil  I had Bti in the water as well as the 1/4 TP so hopefully that’ll eliminate most of the larvae.

It’s 7am on Saturday here so it’s weekend wake and bake and drop the last of the seeds into soil, time. The DDAs took a long time to sink... all the others went into their pots last night.

I’ve been enjoying a blend of the Afghani x critical mass with the CBD Critical cure the last couple of days. Very relaxing stone and no tachycardia. Not much cerebral high either tho - one day I’ll find a cerebral sativa high without tachycardia, that’s my aim - so this morning I’ll turn to the Northern Lights x Golden Tiger I think. Yumm - although it seems to be a bit more heart rate raising the further it gets into cure... curious.

Hope everyone has a great weekend lined up :slide:

Hiya Amy,

I'm not sure about how long they were flowering. I think flowering came later than usual (by a week or so). The ladies were at least 9 weeks, probably 10. They still weren't finished, but had to chop due to crazy botrytis weather. I'm happy with them.
I can't remember if you asked more than that. Sorry. Hope you become happy with your grow. Cheers
Amy, when he says he waited , he means it! Nerves of steel on this Bode and a lode of common sense. Thanks for talking me off the ledge this fall @Bode.

Cheers otter! I won’t grow Carnival outside based on what Bode shares there. Anything much past 8-9 weeks in flower is just too risky in these parts. And when I grow a Carnival, I want it to get good and ripe! It’s speedy enough by all accounts.

Hmm - my morning toke was soo nice. Ima doit agin

Hehe Carnival sounds like something special.

Well it’s pleasing that it’s ammendable. It’ll take a couple of seasons to get it right but I’m sure it will produce more than decent crops in the meantime while we get it there.

It’s actually fairly out of balance. Very low on some micronutrients (but not all). There not enough manganese and too much magnesium... still has too much humus for a high Brix plot, so it won’t need any compost or anything like that. Just the special broadcast amendments recipe. Then I’ll test it next autumn and make the necessary adjustments.

Hey Amy, how's that DDA you've got outside doing?

Hey Daj. Not much at all really. Almost has a 4th node  And it is going purple so that’s something too. It may turn out to be the smallest SPOG in history - which Shed will be able to verify, if it manages to finish at all. The medium just won’t dry out. It had some rain as well so that wouldn’t have helped. But it got stunted in the first 36hours I think and if it toot some gnat damage anything like the one that fell over then it’s just going to be compromised all the way I think. If it ever dries out enough, I’ll water in some more Roots! powder to try to help things along a bit.

I’ll post some pictures of the outside kids tomorrow or the next day. I’m not up to much at the moment. Yesterday I soaked to pots and dropped all the seeds in soil... and that was it for the possible events of my day.

The ICC women’s cricket World Cup is on at the moment so I’m in a kind of sport heaven with a chit ton of rest required so there is much enjoyment to relax into... with Afghani x Critical Mass oil in my cups of tea keeping pain well in the background :yummy:

Hi Amy :hugs:

Glad to see you are back from darkness. Welcome :hugs:
I have heard lots of good about the brix, the result is going to be super I'm sure.
Can't wait for your summer grow ( outside). With an occasional wallaby coming for visits

Hi Birdie... he’s a pretty bold old fella...
