Amy Gardner’s High Brix Dreams

Oh well - not every plant is gonna be a winner. Just means I got one that didn’t thrive out of the way so all the next ones coming up can have a better statistical chance at success (I can reshape any disappointment into a plus you know ;) ).

you can see it sparkle down in the second layer as well :)
Oh yes!

Woweee what an update! Big Blue is looking fricken spectacular woman!! Frost upon frost! GeeGee had those late flower nanners too, just keep plucking them or don’t and no worries at this stage.
The outsiders:D
I’m so happy to hang in your outdoor garden all day, thrips and all! I miss those outdoor babies, thanks for the memories

For you when you wake up! #gg

The only other pause for some thought here is the slightly downward curl on teh leaf tips. My slightly educated guess is that this one doesn’t like the amount of castings in the soil maybe.
Last BD auto I grew got curled tips too and dark green in super soil I suspect was too high in N for their comfort. Maybe blue things like less.

Sure is nice to see sun on your garden today! Everyone looks so healthy in spite of being slightly bugged.

Gee, you've got your hands full here Amy.. hehe
Nice looking plant there. I am already so curious about the numbers...
Regarding the gnats, I am using thermacell mats now.. so far I am yet to see a flying one. It has been 3 weeks like that. If you still have the same problem, maybe you can try and see if it elps you as well. And would be kind of like a proof to me as well, that it works.. :)
Ofcourse, my box is way smaller, but maybe you could use like 4 at a time or so.
Hi Katins, I'm a little excited to hear you talk about thermacell mats for gnats. Do you use them with the machine or do you place a pad somewhere? I hear the system works for skeeters nd if it works for gnats it would change things in a big way. How's the odor?

Glad I am to have made it to your update. I’ve felt a little bad about neglecting you Amy. :hugs:

Blue Dream looks amazing girl. :high-five: I love the trichome explosions that follow the CATs. :slide: I live the shots of the predator wasps too. My iPhone won’t take shots like that, but I keep trying. Lol!

The daughter tells me BD is her go-to for cramps and nausea. Worth remembering.

Haha thanks Doob! Attention to detail is a lot easier with only one plant and when being a canna farmer is the only thing you have on! You have 20 or something plants and work and family so, the demands on your attention are many more than mine!

For you when you wake up! #gg

Too good. Thank you my good woman there :Namaste: #gglove

Thanks Sue! :high-five:

That shot of the wasps is maybe with the fancy camera. I can only get good close ups with the phone using the loupe, like you do, and that doesn’t get shots like that one. ;)

I’ll keep the BD abdominal healing properties well in mind going forward. As will other who read that I’m sure! I’m looking forward to trying out some dosing oil from it too actually.

I’m thinking this maybe true otter. That’s why I mentioned the worm castings. I suspect that had I not added any extra at recharge time, Blue would not have minded at all, maybe even thanked me for it. Next time I grow one I’ll try to keep this in mind.

I’m always fairly antsy between dropping seeds and the moments of their emergence. I’m at close to 100% on germination so I don’t know why, I just agitate a bit until they’re all up. There were a few little mounds pushing up yesterday so I’m very excited to see if any emerged overnight ... :battingeyelashes: Sun is only just up, I’ll check on them shortly (I have them inside overnight at the moment - putting them outside during the day).

Amy, the last pic is a potm entry, absolutely beautiful.!!

Thanks Birdie:Namaste:
I was aiming to get one, but I don’t think it’s as ‘pin-sharp’ as it could be. I may enter it anyway.... I do like to put in my best there regardless of winning potential. I like it as a monthly share session. It’s especially nice the way it brings together members and their gardens that otherwise may not interact much. The monthly community slideshow if you will :high-five: So, I do need t pick one for the honour. Maybe it’ll be that one ...

Hey stoneotter, I just put one mat to where I topped my plant and that's it. I am almost 100% sure that using it with the machine would be really effective, though quite expensive. But so far, it seems to be working "cold" just fine. If you could try it and post the results, that would be awesome.

@Katins Hey K, does it kill them? Or simply repel?
Well, the active compount that evaporates is a nerve agent for mosquitoes. So they are paralysed and dead as a result. And gnats are basically the same mosquitoes.
However the effect is pretty much the same to all insects.

Thanks. As soon as I get some bugs I'll try it if I can, but so far so good. Does it list the active ingredient?
