Amy Gardner’s High Brix Dreams

Cool it is Peppers! Welcome to my garden

:welcome:

In time for the fun finish full of frost!

So - about the miniature question I was raising... I was talking about the actual size of the buds. I realise it didn’t stretch much, so small bummer there. But would that also make the overall size of things small as well? It’s hard to describe, that’s why I held the lighter next to them.

Just curious if I’m seeing things or if they are kinda mini.

In any case I’m headed towards some beautiful high brix weed, I can see that! Even if it has taken a good deal longer than I had planned for.

Not really sure but I'm sure you'll find out soon enough. Hopefully they get thick for you.

Hiya AG,

I can offer some hope. I grew outdoors this summer 3 Carnival ladies. It seemed to me like it started flowering way to late, buds seemed to be so small for so long, that I gave up on them (in my mind). However, at harvest time, I averaged over a pound each, even with a few problems. I learned my lesson. I'm thinking if you give them the nurturing that you can, they'll reward you with a satisfying stash at harvest time. Sending nurturing love to your ladies!

Well thanks @Bode - I saw those huge Carnivals! And yep - they were beautiful. SO that is encouraging. There’s plenty of time left for things to grow sideways :thumb:

On those Carnvials though, how long did they take to finish once they started flowering? I’m still tossing up of I’ll risk growing one outside myself this season and am leaning towards waiting and doing to indoors... but am curious to know how it finished outside.
:Namaste:

Yeah week 3 since flip, but only just 2weeks since pistils so she is really charging along!

So I’m totally happy with how she looks health wise, apart from the gnats. And yeah newty, you’re right... plenty of time to get phat! :D

I’m feeling better yes (thanks @newty, I’ve been back at home 3 days and have barely got out of bed, except for essentials (which includes drenching the plants and visiting the outside garden once) and things have settled a lot. So long as I don’t do much, things stay ok. There’s some heart things going on so it’s an interesting time. I’m trying to do my job and rest :battingeyelashes:

Oh - and plus... today she started giving off an awesome blueberry & lavender aroma... that and what looks like the end of a very minimal stretch, makes me think it’s CAT Drench time. However, yesterday was a full TP (although she only took in about 2-2.5litres out of 4), and there is supposed to be a water between that and the next drench. That might make the CAT too late, unless Its starting to drink super fast.

How long is the window for the first CAT? I should go revisit the CAT drench timing thread about now...

Looking good Amy. Sorry to hear about the fungus gnats. Lost 4 Xmas bud beans a chemdog and a humboldt legacy to those lil bastards. They can really eff up baby beans. All of them that died looked exactly like your dda that croaked. Was afraid to pop anymore til i was sure they were all dead. If you see one flying be assured there are larvae in the soil. They can lay 300 to 400 eggs per flyer.

Last year when I switched I had the same experience with my bud seeming smaller. I grew clones of my outdoor plants and felt a tinge of disappointment. But now a year later after learning a ton on this forum and spending a ton of money, clones of those clone’s buds are bigger (and better) than the outdoor was. I guess my point is; I’m high and replicating the power of the sun is hard.

Hiya Amy,

I'm not sure about how long they were flowering. I think flowering came later than usual (by a week or so). The ladies were at least 9 weeks, probably 10. They still weren't finished, but had to chop due to crazy botrytis weather. I'm happy with them.
I can't remember if you asked more than that. Sorry. Hope you become happy with your grow. Cheers

I’m already happy with it Bode! Only asking questions in an effort to understand things better all the time. This grow is mostly about me figuring out a while out of stuff about growing indoors... dialing in my set up so next time I’ll start with all the basics in place and go from there - and it’s doing that job perfectly... I’ve got most of the basics of the set up worked out now ☺️

Blue Dream is smelling beautiful still.

I confirmed via the Cationic Drench discussion thread that I’m all good to stay with the proper schedule of a plain water next drench and then the two Cat drenches after that. It won’t be too late :slide:
Here’s some midweek Early Miss. petite and pushing out some flowers...

And the stalled DDA that I salvaged from the large pot (when the other one keeled over from gnat induced dampening off) is still fairly stalled...
This is day 17

I saw one earlier today in another journal that is 6days old with more going on than this poor thing. I’m still tempted to cull it. I can only manage a certain amount ... which includes how much I have in my brain! For now I’m just trying to forget about it. The pot is still full of moisture and might get some rain this week too so nothing to do but wait for it to dry out. If it still hasn’t grown much more in another week, I will let it go.

Meanwhile I have the tent open a lot atm to help keep the humidity down and the aroma is wonderful in my room.

Happy Wednesday all :Namaste:
