Alex's - SCROG - 620 Watt CFL's - Actual Wattage - Super Lemon Haze

Well today iv been refurbing one of the big super markets. I came across a few light fittings old and new. Iv disgarded the old ones and kept a few of the brand new ones. I must add these wil not be added into this grow as this is a 100% cfl grow.... it got on my nerves when id read completed journals with titels like.... cfl grow.... 250 watt cfl grow. So id read them too page 15 only to see that at 3 weeks of flower theyv added a 1000watt hps completely ruining my research into cfls. So this grow will stay 100% cfl..... god. Sorry about my ramble back to the matter in hand these new lights iv found.

They are 100 watt hid's with ballasts the bulbs are 100watt phillips son t whites.
They have there own round reflectors with glass covers
I'm going to attempt to find lumen output and cost of the units new
The ballasts are made by a company called harvard engerneering plc and the fixture range is microlights

Got 8 of them. It says 5500 lumens. Thought it mighter been a shade higher than that as my cfl 125s are 8 or 9000 if memory server me right.
I might make a new hood and fit the 8 in it for my next grow after this one
 
No more lights today just shed loads of old ones which will probably of had 1000s of hours use in a 18 hour day supermarket so I'll let them ones go for recycling and stick with yesterdays 8
Been reading in another journal about a flowering light cycle of 10/14 ten on fourteen off. With apparently very good results. I'm thinking of implementing this cycle tomorrow after a little more reading.

I promise I'm not stalking you.:laughtwo: Just catching up on your journal though and saw the link cnd posted about the bulbs in the lights you salvaged. I noticed on the bulb info that the bulbs have a color temperature of 2700K and wanted to point out that color temperature will be better for flower than veg.

Nice grow brother man. I suspect you'll pull more than 2 or 3 ounces off those girls if they stretch like I expect them too.

Yea I kinda just figured that earlier I was assuming they be somewere higher up the spectrum with them having (white) in there title 6000k+ but 2700 for flower like u say. I'm in the process of making a hood for 5 to fit into like in a "M" layout. Next grow I'll keep my current cfl hood for veg and flower with the new lights.

Thanks for the confidence :) they are stretching crazy. Lights are close s I dare have them around 5" off tops as there growing so quick. The flowering tops are about 5" through the second screen today the overnight lights out grow is crazy
I expect around another 7 days of stretch? Taking it to day 21. From previous I think stretch is minimal after that point. Though that could be strain specific

Yea lookin bak I shoulda took some more but theyv all hit the rubbish tip now.
Id have the cfls colser but with the ammount of growth I darent incase rough the day they end up touching
Piks will be coming Monday. I think you all will be supprised at the ammount of growth
 
I have a question Alex. I'm wondering why you chose to you 600 watts of cfls instead of buying a 400-600 watt mh/hps off amazon for $125-400 $180-600 watt. It's a great deal and you will yeild a lot more even in that small space. A 400 watt wouldn't get to hot in there and with that I've seen people pull almost a pound in a small closet
 
Iv mentioned at the begining of the grow I usually use a 600watt hps dual spectrum. Its kind of a challenge iv got going with a buddy of mine. I mentioned it half way through the journal too. Just trying to see how well I can do off cfl's
 
As I said man going good the addition of those salvaged lights is awesome looking forward to your hood. So excited for next weeks parcels to come. I doubt that they'll have 5" of grow your pretty safe there. You could always get a 250w clf for around 65 euro seen some crazy pics from those. You can even get purple bulbs for both veg and flower then your challenge for sure will be a win. Should bet on it man.loser buys the winner a choice of seeds :p

IV thought about adding a 250 or more cfls but a reckon more would be be ridiculos my hood loks like the underside of a UFO as it is haha
Iv got 2 125 watt 6400ks lying around could throw those in for a bit of mixed spectrum I dunno

The hps's I got won't be usedtill next grow this one is staying cfl only

I no 5" is ridiculos growth but today I swear this morning lights 5" away and tonight 2.5" away.
