Alaskan1's Flo n Gro Mixed Bag Grow

This is what I did it's in the freezer waiting for the plants to finish. If I take any more off I just add it to the bag.

A1 I think you did a great job :thumb: don't do any more

If that was sticky from tryclones you could have made some finger hash

Thanks Space :thankyou:

There are 3 plants in the very back I haven't touched yet. My back said NO MO so I stopped. It's almost lights out for them anyway.
I won't defoliate them anymore then I did the others. We are at the start of week 6 right now. Few more weeks and I'll start getting the microscope out to see how close we are to harvest :) I'm so jazzed.

Thanks slick I'll try the coconut oil next time I trim.

Looks like you have a tent full of wonderful healthy looking girls. :goodjob: :welldone:

Did you ever talk to Chief?

Hey HMG Thanks for stopping in !!!!!!!
I'm pretty happy right now and it's getting closer!

OH YEAH........forgot to mention. I got my 5 cases of BPN nutes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wow 5 cases you dont mess around do u
lol

Hey A1, you could remove more leaves to let more light to the bottoms. You should def try it on one of the last plants to compare against, although defoliation is best utilized on the plants "in front" of the ones "in the back" in regards to where the light is located.....

Listen to OG there. strip them bad girls!

1. I could be wrong but I am pretty sure after re-reading the defoliation article a few weeks back, that my removing leaves ON bud sites was a no-no. I think I took way too many on the growing bud sites. This hindered swelling. Other than that, pluck away all that other shit!

2. I start freezing plucked leaves when they have noticeable amounts of trichomes on them. I save them all, then dry them with trim leaves after harvest. Then re-freeze until I'm ready to make some dry ice hash or cannabudder.

Cool stuff on the coconut oil!

Another little project I have is I'm testing a new insulin pump, meter and constant glucose monitoring system. Pretty cool! They are trying to get it FDA approved and I am a test dummy for this.

Do you wear a hockey helmet?

Free tip of the day from Alaskan1

My hands, arms and feet were so damn sticky! I tried everything to get it off. Used the last of the alcohol to clean the snips before defoliation. My wife said........use some of the coconut oil..
What the hell, I tried it.......frickin took everything off like THAT.......plus now I have silky smooth skin LOL
Serious, give it a try...worked slick!.....get it? slick? yea ok nevermind lol

Baby oil is cheaper and wont leave you smelling like a nut.

Here in Las Vegas the strippers use coconut oil. I'm hoping the ladies out on bachlorette weekend will think I'm a 50+ chippendale just because I smell like coconut oil!

I woulda put up a pic of real studly chippendale guys but above was too Irresistible

Everyone is so happy with the BPN nutes and I had the cash so I figured either go big or go home!
I like that Corey is around and is always helpful. I was going with Technoflora until their customer service really let me down when I needed to figure some things out. I know Corey will always be around to help me no matter how stupid the question or matter I may have.
He is always quick with the answers and help.

I have a lil story so I'll get to that when I write my story lol

1. I only took off the big sugar leaves that were attached to the colas. Anything close to the bud were left alone. Aka anything in tight was left.

2. Yep, we saved all that and put it all into the freezer!

:thumb: Coconut oil is the shiznit

Ok, so here's my lil story.........
Last night I pop the res lid to check my PH and PPM. Saw the bad brown sludge ring which is a tell tale sign of the dreaed root rot........Picked up a pot, yeppers it's back. Ugh fuck me!
So added some H202 and let it go for the night. Was way too late in the early morning to do anything about it and I was going to need help.

Got up at 10am and got started.

Removed all the plants from the system. They got a H202 dip bath of 15ml per gal and then got all the roots rinsed off. While my wife was doing this I completely tore down the entire 18 pot flo n gro system.

Filled the bath tub with 3 cups of bleach and hot water and started cleaning all the buckets and hoses.
As I finished with the buckets my wife was wiping them down with vinegar and then let them air dry.
Cleaned EVERYTHING, even cleaned the tent with bleach.
Refilled the res and put in 24 cups of H202 and right now they get a 2 hour soak of that. Then I let them breathe for 15 minutes then reflood them for another 2 hours until I have a total of 6 hours flood time.

Will dump the res when that has completed and then refill the res with half strength nutes and full hygrozyme.

On Monday night late will dump everything again and go to 3/4 nutes and hygrozyme and Orca.

Hopefully this will kick it's ass for the rest of this grow. We are tossing out the Blueberry mother as we think she is very susceptible to getting the rot so she is going outside to grow. If she survives then she does. If not, oh well

Rot root agian? Man oh man that suks.

So lets sit here and think whats going on.

It's not the res temps. you have a chiller and it works well I've read.

so lets think whats going on. You drain and fill the buckets how long are they drained? Hrs? then refilled for so long 20min? something? and then drained again? for hrs?
How hot you say it is inside the bucket when there is no water cooling the roots? can you get a temp prob in there? I bet it's hot as hell when the lights are on and there's no wa wa in their buckets. like leaving ya dog in the car with the windows up on a hot summer day. hot, wet, humid=root rot

try this only completely drain your system when the lights are off. while the lights are on fill and drain more often the cool water flooding from the res will keep the roots cool, you just need to flood more often. I'm betting to control bucket temps.

Just a ideeer :peace:
