Alafornia's 1st Time Multistrain Medical Grow

Nikita is the second White Russian. I popped her when it appeared Westley might not make it. She popped in just 2 days and has strong roots. She made the strongest clone that was the first to root. Just an amazing plant. I'm going to make her clone a mother plant. All the plants are getting sticky, especially these last three and especially Nikita and Northern Lights.

Orange Sherbert's lineage includes Orange Cream, Purple Urkle, and Cherry Pie. It boasts 24% THC and 0.7% CBD.

I was drawn this this plant's reported uplifting effects without the anxiety some strains may produce.

Northern Lights is one of those that needs no introduction. She boasts 21% THC, but what drew me to this strain by Pyramid Seeds was the 1.7% CBD content - the highest of any Northern Lights strain I researched by far. Northern Lights is a versatile strain, reported to be good for insomnia, anxiety, PTSD, and pain. She has been a strong grower. She has the strongest smell and is the stickiest and has been both since before going to the flower tent.

That's all I have on the plants. My boy goes to the dentist tomorrow. Pray for us both, lol! For real, though. :) The dentist and staff also.

only recently realized that a 12/12 cycle is recommended throughout the grow cycle, not just flower, but this one has thrived since day one.

:hmmmm:

How is that even possible. All photoperiod plants start flowering with the 12/12 light schedule, that would of triggered flower way too early.

I’m really liking orange sherbet still!! Looking good al!

Let's clarify this before we start a new club... and please tell me where you saw this recommended... I would like to give them a piece of my mind for recommending this to new growers.

I have heard of commercial ops following this strategy because 1. the plants adapt to it 2. The cost of electricity during veg is cut by 6 or more hours a day 3. The plants rapidly go into bloom around the 5 week point when growing from seeds.

A big downside is that by doing this you are no longer prescreening for male plants, and they are going to pop up doing their thing right along with the females and it it going to take a steady eye to keep pollination from occurring. Seeds are going to pop up here or there as a result of a little bit of random pollen hiding in the room.

I also think it would be easy to show in a side by side that with 18-19 hours of light a vegging plant would get a lot more vegetative growth than a 12/12 grow would, and I would like to see that experiment, although I don't want to be the one to do it.

More problems occur when you are running clones. As soon as a clone sees 12/12, it goes into bloom... whether it is 5" tall and just popped out roots or if it has been training for a while. 12/12 for clones can not be recommended during veg.

Although this method works for very careful SOG ops and commercial ops with lots of plants, it may not be the best way for a home tent grower going for high yield and no random seeds to go. If you want to run a photo quickly as if it were an auto, sure, go for it... but yields will suffer greatly from the practice.

I also figured out that I've been spelling Orange Sherbert wrong for months! Hahaha!

I'm with you on the 12/12. There would have been no reasonable way for me to do it anyway, so...

Good luck at the dentist!

That’s where my wife was yesterday.

Thanks. I'm tired of giving those guys money right now. Maybe this will be the last for a while.

Since the place I originally found my info did not list this information I only saw it when double checking a few things and trying to find the % of THCV produced by this strain.

And since each of these links is to a sponsor I'm going to go ahead and post them.

Indoors can also see growers produce successful crops with the following recommendations; first, it is grown in a 12/12 light/dark scenario throughout its cycle not just during the flowering phase. Secondly, it only requires a light feeding schedule and excessive nutrients will cause lock-out of the same to the plant's detriment. Indoors yields of 400 gr/m2 can be obtained in a 55 - 60 day flowering time.

Cultivating Master Hemp outdoors or in a greenhouse is where you can truly appreciate the potential of this plant, as it can grow to between 2- 3 meters. It can be easily handled indoors as well, where a very light feeding Schedule and a 12/12 photo-period from seed to harvest is recommended.

Cannapot, whose description can be found in this first post of this journal, does not have this information in their description. Here's the link there: Cannapot Onlineshop SLU - Master Hemp MH1 3 female

The Medical Marijuana Genetics website has been unavailable so I am unable to verify with the breeder's website.

So there ya go. That info is listed at multiple sites other than those listed and linked so I can only guess it originated with the breeder. I neither recommended that scheduled nor followed it. My MH1 has done quite well on a traditional cycle. I'll even remind everyone that for the first couple of weeks or so I was on an accidental 24/0 cycle since my switch for the timer was in the wrong position and the timer was not active. I then went to an 18/6 cycle until moving into the flower tent.

Secondly, it only requires a light feeding schedule and excessive nutrients will cause lock-out of the same to the plant's detriment.

where a very light feeding Schedule and a 12/12 photo-period from seed to harvest is recommended.

I'll also note that MH1 has done quite well in my super soil. Matter of fact, I've had very few issues with the plant. The clone has done very well and my intention is to make it a mother. I am and intend to run an 18/6 light cycle in the veg tent. While I can't give the reasoning behind the recommendation I can say that the plant does fine in a super soil with a traditional 18/6 light cycle.

Thanks, everyone!

I had a lot of catching up to do Al (unbelievably, about five pages worth), since I was offline since Thursday evening. There is so much to comment on that I just chose the one thing that I'm most impressed with.
@Tangled is doing well - still not smoking (tobacco) after 2.5 months. Great job!
Give her my best. As a tobacco user, I understand the willpower that a feat like this requires. She apparently has it in spades.

And slightly less impressive is that beautiful garden. Roll Tide, my friend.

Thanks, @FishEyedFool . @Tangled hangs around in here but she blends in with the walls and makes very few noises so she'll get the message. Thank God for the vapes that some idiots want to ban. They helped me quit and are helping her now.

I'd appreciate it if you changed whatever lucky item you have that is causing all these injuries. We don't need any more. :D Roll Tide, brother.

There's a quote from a famous author that is fitting here, hmmm, let me see, oh yes...

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience". - C.S. Lewis

I wear a white long sleeve tshirt with just a simple script A on the front. I've worn that shirt every game day since the 2012 season (probably my favorite championship season, during the Saban era). Just this past Saturday, my wife said, "Don't you think it's time for another shirt? That one has holes all over it." It may be time, Al...

Hahahaha! I think I need to change my script A grey t-shirt as well. I did try a few polo shirts but they didn't help so I'm gonna have to shop for some tee's.

Flowering doesn't happen until a plant is sexually mature. Doesn't matter if you start them under 18/6, 24/0 or 11/13, they won't flower until they are grown up. Even that depends on the strains. If you deal with Equatorial Sativas, they generally won't start flowering until between day 60 and 90. Light manipulation has little to do with it for them.

Excellent point about equatorial plants. Makes me wonder what the unknown side of the lineage is.

A long, long time ago, I knew nothing about growing marijuana. I tried growing a great white shark seed. Didn’t know any better, and started a seedling with a 12/12 schedule. It lasted, well maybe two weeks, give or take. Very little growth, and the light schedule ultimately killed the plant.

My friend took it over for me, as we moved. Tried to save it by putting under the 18/6 schedule, but was too far gone. :rip:

Too bad. Don't know why it's recommended with this strain. Kinda weird.

Hey Al

Can you please elaborate?
Why is THVC interesting?

What interests me with my crew are the anxiolytic effects. THCV can counter the anxiety THC can sometimes induce and can lower anxiety in general. For the recreational user lower doses of THCV will impede the high from THC due to antagonizing the receptor but in higher doses becomes an agonist and causes a very euphoric and energetic high. Durban poison has a high THCV content and it is thought some of the old Hawaiian strain do as well.

Research indicates THCV might be effective to control appetite and diabetes as well as having anti-inflammatory effects. Other research indicates it may be effective in treating epilepsy and parkinson disease.

In strains that produce THCV instead of forming CBGa, the precursor to THC, CBC, CBD, and CNBN, some molecules get changed to THCV while the rest follow the usual course of forming CBG and then being converted into other cannabinoids.

THCV is quick-hitting and quick leaving. The effects come on quickly but are gone in about half the time as THC is active.

The other thing that interests me is that uplifting quality without the crash once it's gone.

Thanks Al. I knew your answer would be interesting. For a guy who doesn’t partake you sure know your way around this sweet herb.

@Optimus913 is growing a high thcv strain here..
