Alafornia's 1st Time Multistrain Medical Grow

Half way through the process. Just now starting to clean it. Scrub scrub scrub! Spray spray spray. The vinegar mixed with water smell, is suffocating. Oh the process is an all day ordeal! I can’t wait to be able to jump into it tonight.

I guess I’m being pretty vague here...

It’s our first time emptying, cleaning, refilling and trying to get our chemicals right in our hot tub today.

Imagine if I had cable. I’d be inside watching football all day, instead I’m actually doing things that need to get done. :laughtwo: I guess not having cable pays off!

Did I hear right? The New England patriots let Antonio brown go? :thedoubletake:

Now I’m just rambling, back in the tub I go!

Don't know. He didn't play for Alabama. :D

Sounds like fun. Well, at least it beats a pseudomonas infection (after rinsing out the vinegar use a little bleach).

Football day is my leisure day. :)

I won’t say anything about the calculations... not my area these days and I only just manage to stay in line with my own, and that’s with lots of help from Shed!

I will say tho that mixing them all in the oil making may not be the wisest way to start. It can take a while to work out balances and blends and I rely on having the varieties seperate so I can tweak the balances/ratios of the different plants in the mix. I’ve been doing that for about 18months now and I’m only just thinking about making some oils that are blended during infusion the way you describe.

You know what you want Ala so I’m not saying you should or shouldn’t do anything in particular. I’m only saying that once you make a pre-blended oil, that’s it. If the ratio isn’t right you have little option to tweak it. If you make seperate oils on the first run, you can spend some time making sure the ratios are good and doing what you want before you commit to blended-during-infusion versions.

Also - you might be planning this already, but I’d say to always have a pure CBD oil in the private dispensary :)

Thanks, Oldbear!

There was a man called Bear once that I loved very much. Broke my heart when he passed. You're a pretty good guy, too.

How long is long term? As in, how and how long do you store your oils? Do you use anything to preserve them? What oils do you prefer as carriers and why?

Thank you.

Well, there's people in "West Georgia" that throw toilet paper in their own beloved trees to celebrate in the public square. Think about the irony there.

Seems like forever. Seems like yesterday.

Thanks!

Thank for the kind words

My extractions are done using edible oils. Extra virgin olive, coconut mainly.

I have oil that is over a year old. I keep it in dark jars in a cool cabinet. I also store the dried and cured flowers making small batches of oil as needed

Making different mixtures from the flower as needed is a great
approach. Mixed cultivars comes highly recommended to improve the effectiveness

All the best.

Good points to think on, Amy. Thank you.

I bet that felt good! :thumb:

Hahaha! Nope, he didn’t play for bama! But he played for my favourite NFL team. So it disturbed me when he went to New England to begin with! Them pesky New England patriots! (Shakes fist)

Yep, I definitely don’t want that infection!

Use bleach eh? Never thought about that. I understand it kills everything, but everything I’ve read or watched on how to do this, no where did it say to use bleach. So I figured I probably shouldn’t... I guess we will see!

No hot tubbing tonight! If my alkalinity and ppm and everything is good tomorrow, maybe I will jump in. I tested it, and I’m pretty sure it’s good, just it’s still only 70F and it’s set to go to 101. So maybe tomorrow :thumb:

Sunday’s used to be my leisure day as well.. it was foot ball all day, and then hockey in the evening, unless there was a good NFL game on in the evening game.

My leisure day is Saturday, but still always manage to get some stuff done. :) I don't much keep up with the NFL. I watch every now and again, though.

Bleach kills everything. Run it through the jets to get the parts you can't see but be sure to run a rinse cycle as well to get it out.

The Patriots are the Alabama of the NFL. :D

I smell good right now. :D Had to send the older boy into the store.

Today I ordered capsules suitable for holding oil, a capsule filling machine, hygrometers, a kitchen scale, a precision milligram scale, and 62% bovedas in 8 gm and 1 gm (for the small containers).

I do have a question: Would taking a clone at this stage make any sense and would it even work? There are a couple of places down low I could still get of Orange Sherbet and OG Kush CBD at least. I had about given up on that but if it can work then I might try one last time on those.

Forgive me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure you can take clones at this stage, and it will just transition back to veg.

Again I apologize if I’m wrong. I honestly haven’t done my homework on clones.

Hopefully someone here will help you along.

You smell? You smell like what!?

Hahahaha! I smell very much like cannabis.

Ordered a loupe as well.

Do it, Al. They’ll be monster croppers!
They’ll take longer than your last little beauties to show roots, but it’ll be worth it.

You can take a clone at any point.....or you can do a full on reveg after harvest. Both ways will work, just understand that the later in flower you are, the longer the reveg process is and more stressful it can be.

Couple things to keep in mind with most cannabis plants and clone and flowering. Taking clones off plants in flower is no big deal. Doing it in the first 3 weeks is the easiest. They haven't fully transitioned into flowering and getting them to root and reveg isn't as difficult as taking a clone in week 5,6,or 7. The roots transition into flowering roots and stop growing like they did in veg. All the energy is going to the flower sites later in flower.

So understanding the process, you can take the cuts anytime....its just going to take a bit longer to reveg if you take it later.

If you decide to do a full on plant reveg, its pretty easy to do. They key is to start signalling the roots to change back to veg roots. You do that by moving the flowering plant back into 18/6 for the last 10-14 days of flower. Harvest the plant when she's done and leave 5 or 6 small buds down low and cut everything else off. Throw it under 18/6 lighting (or 24/0 if you like) and let it go. Gonna take a bit before it starts throwing out new growth. Once it starts throwing new growth, you either trim the roots back and up pot into a new pot or just up pot the whole root ball into a bigger pot and grow it like a new plant.

Clones or revegging a plant are both doable, just boils down to how you want to do it. I recommend growers experiment with all the different techniques and find what they like and what works best for their situation.

Thank you for that, @Van Stank ! That is some seriously good information. I had wondered how a reveg was done. I may do both just to experiment.

I think I'm going to try it. I still have to trim MH1 a little this evening and can take those I want then.

Lunch pics:

I’m gonna guess these guys getting a little darker color in the hairs is normal at this stage.
