AK47 Serious Seeds - First Grow - CFL - Soil

Anybody have an answer for this ?

Could Somebody Please Answer :)​

The plants are over a foot tall at the moment and nearly 2 weeks into flower, does anybody have any suggestions on when to start clearing or pruning the small shoots and leaves underneath the canopy that aren't getting much light ?

Now, don't let small buds start to form. Stop it before it starts so everything the plant has can be put towards the tops. Trust me on that. I'm talking about everything that is shaded so you just have branches and fan leaves. Its a trick that some people do. The lower fan leaves should be left on until the fall off (they have a lot of the good shit to form BIG buds) they will fall off when necessary.
 
Well I guess 2 weeks into they already have, but it's still ok. I pull shit off all the way up to week 3 1/2 if I need to and still get amazing results :thumb:
 
I'm a huge fan of AK47. Grew it a few times and decided to try to make it better, now I have a personal cross of AK47xG13.

By the way, G13 is still around in clone form, very rare to find. I have a stash of feminized seeds hehe

My nutes had that suggested on the bottle, makes sense to me what i do is give them half veg half bloom and work my way up to full bloom.



Oh and starting to transplant my little ones into one gallons, can't wait to see what i'm seeing here bro!!



I have read and think its better to wait till all your stretch is done to clear the bottoms. If you clear before the stretch all the energy will go to the rest and increase your stretch...
 
It really depends on strain, but with the AK it shouldn't be a problem I don't think. More stretch= more light able to get into the tops which will produce a bigger cola. Big fat tops are what you want when you're growing and smoking it's the best shit. Sorry I'm just not a fan of trimming a bunch of little shit nugs lol (1g-2g I consider shit nugs) Just my suggestion buddy! Your ladies are looking awesome!

If you are going to grow her to 4ft during Veg would you not expect her to stretch to at least 6ft or 7 ft considering she should have nearly doubled in size by the end of flower ?

So far these girls have stretched from about 6" to about 18" and I'm hoping they don't stretch any further because I'm running out of space fast :hmmmm: ha ha

I just had a look at the plants on your thread, you seem to be doing a really good job, they look super healthy :thumb:

Cheers for atopping by my journal and nice words on my Cindy grow.. Well i do not know much about this C99xPR strains growth?? Its been hard to find info on them combined.. Panama Red, original, i got some info from JTG, which was great..And ive read about c99, so combined i am mot sure of her capabilities. But, she is responding well now to LST, is nearly 2ft at just over a month, i can afford to grow up to 6ft comfortably so 2-3 ft stretch from 3-4ft will be ok:)
Im hoping for it, bud wise it will be the only way ill get least 8 oz off this too.. Hope to see you drop by from time to time as i will be watchin your grow also for comparisons.

I suppose that makes sense, I added about 1/4 Veg nutes along with the full flowering nutes and they seem to be loving it :)

I can't wait to hear how they grow up :) You have to keep me up to date on them ha ha

I was thinking that too that the energy could possibly just be re-directed to where I don't need it right now ha ha

My main problem with this grow is height restrictions so I need to prevent stretch not increase it :P ha ha

UPDATE:

DAY 15 OF FLOWER ( 38 - 48 DAYS REMAINING )

Everything is still looking good, all the girls are vibrant green and seem very healthy :)

Day Temperature is a steady 26c ( 79f ) - Night is about 18c ( 65f )

Day Humidity is an average of ( 50% ) - Night is about ( 60% )

Water PH is about 6 - 6.5

The addition of the 250w MH bulb has dramatically slowed upward growth since it was installed :)

I think the stretch period might just nearly be over, as soon as I am sure that it's over the MH will be removed and the HPS will be put back into the cooltube.

I am really thinking about the possibility ( For the next Grow ) of running 2 cooltubes side by side in the box, one with the 250w HPS and the other with the 250w MH so 500w of mixed spectrum in the box together should produce way more weight and potency than the one bulb alone. For the volume of the grow area a SCROG method or SOG would probably be best. Anybody have any suggestions ?

I am almost sure that I will be able to cool the both of them ha ha it could be all set up about 2 weeks after this grow is finished so very excited for that :)

All of the plants were taken out of the box today for an examination and a trim, I felt it was time :)

Almost all of the weak shoots that sprung up over the past 2 weeks were removed, they were really blocking out a lot of light. Most of the lower level leaves that weren't getting much light or yellowing from lack of light were also removed. The plants look much thinner now but it should leave plenty of room for those tops to fatten up nicely and there will be far more light penetration :)

Most of all the plants energy now seems to be going towards bud growth and there is also a very noticeable day to day increase in calyx development, there also seems to be a very small number of Trichomes developing too and is sticky to the touch.

I would say that Ms. Sativa and Ms. Purple are probably drinking about a litre of water per day give or take.

Ms. Tropical just had to be re-potted, I tried to water her and most of it just ran out the bottom so I picked up the 2 litre bottle/pot that she was in and it felt extremely light. When I removed her from the pot there was nothing but roots. It was like all of the soil had disappeared and was replaced with roots ha ha ( I forgot to take a picture :P ) The best I could do for her was to pot her up to a 3.5 litre pot, at least she shouldn't strangle herself in there :) just yet ha ha

That's all that I can think of for now ha ha so sit back and enjoy some pictures :)

I figure that the first few weeks of stretch or at least until the plant starts budding is still kind of like the growth phase where the plants are still growing extra leaves and branches so they would technically still need the blue spectrum for that process and when you suddenly give them Red light and drop to 12/12 the plants act like they are light deprived and stretch like crazy looking for the spectrum that they were previously using.

As soon as I Removed the HPS and put in the MH into the box the plants upward growth automatically dropped from about 1 -2 inches per day,to about 1/4 - 1/2 inches per day and the new node growth from the MH was tight in stark contrast with the stretch using the HPS :)

I would definitely get the extra light for next time and use your low stress canopy tieing skills, never done a SoG, looks like too much extra work

Bonus if you can run 2 cool tubes from one fan, a long way from CFL beginnings!
