Ace Panama, Groot, In High Brix

Lets see what happens in the next week or so. You might want to get Duggan in here - he's doing a great job on his stretchers. But no reason to do anything today - just be looking ahead. If it doesn't start filling out by the weekend, you may want to make future plans. With the alternating nodes, I'm not sure it would help much to top right now, but you could think about supercropping the tops if she don' slow down.

:Namaste:
Awesome, great advice as always! Thanks Gray!
I’ll see if I can get @Duggan to swing in...

My Destroyer was a compact hybrid shape - no trouble with stretch at all. In my garden strains usually show pistils by the 10th day. I hope you don't have a Thai leaner.

Hey there Gray, how are you today?

Uh oh... that would mean a very very long flower wouldn’t it? How long do thai leaning phenos flower?

Guess I’ll hope the DDA doesn’t take too long...

Some Thais never stop blooming. The Meao isn't one of those though.

Leaf shape will tell you a lot. If they're not the long skinny fluffy leaves, you should be ok. I just mention it because I sometimes forget that there can be other phenos than the one I grew. DrGrinspoon was the same way for me - I got an easy hybrid pheno, and others got a fluffy long one.

Don' let me scare you. I guess I'm more curious than anything at this point. I dropped a Destroyer of my own yesterday, expecting what I had 5 years ago, so I'll be watching yours to see how it varies. After 5 years I suppose they must be a different batch.

:Namaste:

Cool, the Destroyer Master Class in running, I'll have to pay close attention :thanks:

Well, it’ll only be a master class if Gray sticks around... and if we can get @Duggan and @neikodog in here with their sativa experience... we’ll have a nice Destroyer master class indeed!
Hope you’re doing well today Gazoo!

Hey 119...ya..i had a look.
First thing...get your light/s up as high as they will go and leave them there ok. You can easily raise smaller plants up on boxes ,old pots etc.
Gray is correct in saying she will double from this point forward....with that pheno.
You will see pistils any time now...like Gray ...my plants always show them around day 10.
You need to slow down the stretch...there are a few ways to do it...depending on how much room to the sides you have available.
Are the mains still flexible(green), or have they started to really stiffen up already?
Ok....if she were mine...i would come down about 2 inches...that's all..no more, from the apex(top) and gently Supercrop her to 90 degrees...in other words to the horizontal...no more ok.
Get all the leaders to the exact same height...now's your chance to make the canopy even...do it.
The tops will recover extremely quickly and u will find yourself ..not believing how fast they recover from it.
Continue to do this every 4 to 5 days...keeping the canopy level...very important...dont let any leaders 'runnaway' from the rest ok.
You won' t have much room to mess with them once they are done stretching ,so its very important to keep everything level ...and even as you can ,across the top ok.
Now..keep in mind when you continually SC the tops , this will encourage much more side growth ,so be prepared.
Hope this helps ...i'l try and be around more often ...just to keep an eye on her for ya.
Enjoy your day 119...hope it grooves for ya.

I’m with Gray, don’t top her now, it will f... her hormones up. I’ve had luck with the stretchers just training the tops down to some kind of support, and stay on top of it till the stretch is done. Let’s see what the sativa vets say...
Hey DL, thanks... yea I was thinking that topping wouldn't be ideal... kinda a last resort thing. Yep, The vets will know what to do!

Hey there Duggs, thanks for stopping in... really appreciate your input!
The mains are very flexible, but I do have a lot of height still... this new tent is 7' 11" tall and I can use a little under 7' of it for height, which was kinda my plan... I was going to try and keep the ladies tall and skinny as to try and, at times, have room for 3 pots in there. I know they wont yield as well, but I could really use more variety on a regular basis.

So when you guys say she could double, is that double the stretch since I flipped? Or double the height of the entire plant?
Another 13" I can handle, that would make her around 43". But if you guys mean double the whole plant that would put her around 60"+ still doable but could get weird in there!

So based on the info I gave here, with the height of the tent, and wanting to be able to squeeze a third pot in at times, do you still think I should super crop? Just say the word and in the tent I go Duggs... which way would be the best? Super crop... or try and let her go more naturally?

Edit: Wanted to add, I will go in and raise those lights up all the way... I will find something to put the DDA up on to prevent excessive stretch.

I haven't grown Destroyer but I don't feel like no pistols at 9 days a problem. Did you have alternating nodes at flip? Some sativas just take a while to start flowering. You probably have a longer flowering phenotype. Maybe start pulling the leaders over to promote lower growth. My Panama x Columbian Gold took 6 weeks before pistols. I ended up taking that one at 23 weeks.

119...she will double in height..from the soil level. She hasnt even started to bloom yet so...she is going to be very tall. You could take your chances and let her just grow... i would not.
If you are wanting more room for other plants...then tying over is really not an option for you.
You think you have lots of room up top , which is true...but that room will vanish...in no time ok...keep that in mind.I say this cuz she still hasnt even started to really stretch yet..so...beware.

Hey there Neiko, thanks for stopping in.
Yes sir, she was a strange plant really. After she self topped she began alternating nodes, that was pretty early on, so yes she definitely had alternating nodes when flipped. Good to know its no biggie its not throwing pistils yet... but 23 weeks... christ man... sure hope it doesnt run that long. IDK if I could keep it alive long enough...
Is this a strain that would need snake oil at any time? Just curious since I do have it on hand. Probably too early for all that anyway.

Gottcha, that makes sense... Lemme raise that light all the way up, then I will see exactly how much room I have. I have a feeling your'e right (of course you are, you da man!) and it wont matter how much room I have, it will disappear quickly!

Ok, I have about 40" above the canopy. I went ahead and bent them over... they wanted to go past 90 so I used a couple stakes for now till they stiffin up. that took them back about 7", closer to the height of two of the other mains.
Thanks Duggs! I will super crop the other mains as they grow... appreciate the help!

Thank you as well Neikodog, yea with the snake oil... bought it for one plant, used it once now it just sits there. Oh well, maybe I will use it once or twice before it goes bad.

Have a great day guys, at least I hope you do!

Back on track! Good move D!

Yeah the snake oil is for the salt lovers. I use it on OG’s and the Chem’s. My others don’t like it or need it
I think I got it for a white Widow I grew around Christmas last year... someone recommended I use it on her. But I don’t think I’ll need it again for a while!

Time for an update, not much had changed...
The Destroyer is filling out, pushing pistils now. She’s almost due a Drench... first full TP since Transplant. Also, was thinking that since she didn’t start pushing pistils till a couple days ago... I’ll do recharge and EWC at 3 weeks post flip... if this isn’t going to work someone just say so! She also needs Brix, I may go ahead with the Drench this afternoon and then do Brix tomorrow.
Seems i may be burning my plants a bit by doing both same day?

That DDA has those droopy leaves, and I’m not sure if it’s cause the soil up top is drying out or if that’s jist kinda normal for these. I have been lightly moistening the top of the pot while the rest is drying, using the solo sprayer with the articulating spray nozzle. Every 2-3 days I will go in a 3” circle around the stem and give about a 1/4 cup of water. Good times.

So on that CD-1... I hope Duggs doesn’t get mad. I know he’s right about this plant needing more soil... my problem is I don’t have an area where I could up pot and then veg her a bit... she’s only about 5 weeks old, pretty small... but even the heavy Transplant Drenchs aren’t keeping her nice and green.

I may see if I can squeeze a 10gal pot in my veg cabinet... it’s only 18”x18”... would be very tight. That’s the only way I can Transplant her now and have a decent sized plant... pretty sure anyway.

Thanks for looking!

Edit: Sorry about those crappy DDA pics, guess I had my camera too close!

Good idea to do the DRENCH and Brix on different days, I always try and keep them
at least a day off.

I see some major super cropping :goodjob: but only look to have slowed her a little. Wonder how much
longer she will stretch ?

Hey there Gazoo, thanks for stopping by! Yea, pretty sure Doc has said it’s ok to do them on the same day... but my plants just don’t seem to like that.
Not sure on that stretch... I imagine she’ll get a bit taller... like 10” maybe? Just a guess... pretty excited about her. Besides those chronic funky leaves she’s coming along nice... love the nice sized fans on her too, very pretty.
