Ace Panama, Groot, In High Brix

Have you changed out the water at all while the cuts have been in the cloner? Do you know what the water temp is? If the temp gets too hot or too cold the cuts will have a hard time making roots. Anything with roots I would put in soil. Even the ones with white bumps may do better in soil. Also do you have anything in the cloner water to stop anything from growing?
Ahhh... my bad. Yea I used tap water both times, last time quick roots this time slow... but the cloner is now in a different area, cooler in there. That makes since. Haven’t changed the water or out anything in it... noob mistake there. ill go ahead and pop them into soil. And next time I’ll be sure to change out the water every few days and keep the water at a decent temp... I have been using weak de-stress every other day too. Thanks Yeti!

You're welcome. i never changed my water in my cloner when I used to use it but have heard people will change it out every 5-7 days. I used to use something that kills bacterial growth but I forget what it is acalled. I heard some will just use hydrogen peroxide. Hopefully the clones will perk up for you when they hit the soil bud!

I spent awhile rooting cuttings in cups of water - simply stems sitting in water. It worked surprisingly well when temp/RH were right. And in my experience, once they form nubbies, they'll root in soil. Try one! :slide:

I stuck a seedling heat mat under my dewey mister, and that brought the water temp up enough. :Namaste:

Nice, I think I’ll stick all 4 in soil soon. The two that don’t have roots have a bunch of nubs so maybe they will be good. I only need one!

I have been keeping cuts in cups of water lately as a back up cloning method. A good amount of the time I get at least one cut per cup to take. Some times they all form roots! The key I have found is to keep them out from under direct light. Off to the side tends to work, or shaded beneath vegging plants works as well.
Nice, I’ve never had luck cloning with just water... I may try that again though. Yep, my cloner is under my begging area, so no direct light... just filtered.

Thanks guys, I appreciate your input!
I hope you both have a great day!

Ok, so Groot will need either water or a cat, probably tomorrow. Ima let @neikodog tell me when I should do my first Cat, I know he has much experience with the sativas. Last drink was last Thursday (5-17-18) TP drench. IDK what neikodog will say... but if I had to guess I would say water with tea (like Duggs) since she just had a TP drench, then hit her with the cat in a few more days when she gets light again.
See I am not sure I should count day one flip as day one bloom on this one. Unlike the Wonder Woman which showed pistils very early while still in veg, this Panama didn't show any at all until almost a week after flip. Just so we all here dont think I am pushing my cats too far out.
Also, no comments on the strange node setting... just wondering if this is normal. I tend to get hung up on odd things like that.
Hey @Duggan , how much tea would you put in 1.5gal of RO for 1 10gal pot?

I would go 1 more watering then the CAT. I don't personally add tea to just water but as far as how much, I grow in 10's and do 1 ml tea with all drenches. The only time I go more is on the super drench and that is 2 ml. The tea is pretty concentrated so 1 ml is plenty fed directly. When I dunk I add 1 ml tea per gallon of water but round up. So 2.5 gallons of water I add 3 ml tea. Also when you do CAT I would go 15 ml CAT with 1 ml tea back to back.

Breeders give their flower times from flip not pistols. Seeing pistols on a pure sativa after a week is pretty quick. She'll probably be done in 11-12 weeks from flip.

I don't know on the different node spacing, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Thank you neikodog! I dont usually add tea to water either, but Duggs sure does and his ladies are always so beautiful... sure cant hurt! But I will take it easy on the tea for sure.
Nice, I wasn't too excited about a long flower, 11-12 weeks sounds good to me. And thats pretty close to the breeders numbers too. I will try not to worry about the nodes but no promises:rofl:
Thanks again, I appreciate your help!

Hi Dajerm and gang.

Groot is looking great, nice color and trim job!

I notice that my aero cloner works best when the room is close to 80*f, but I keep the reservoir on the concrete floor to keep it cooler. The clones need the heat, but the reservoir does not. If you can’t keep the Rez cool, you can add H2O2 or change it out every 3-5 days. Nasty stuff will grow in there if left unchecked. When all parameters are right I get roots in 5-7 days. I don’t have great luck with it in the winter, I instead use rapid rooters, with heating mats and a dome.

Put those closes you have in soil, and give 25% TP, they will live and root, even the ones with white knobs.

You only see the opposite nodes from plants grown from seed, until the plant starts to sexually mature, then You will see alternate nodes. A seedling (not clone) will only be able to flower when it is mature enough, then you can switch the photo period. I look at the development of the calyxs to tip me off when a plant grown from seed is sexually mature.

Clones are sexually mature from day 1, as they carry the same age as the mother, even though they are the size of a seedling. Clones will have alternating nodes from the start, when taken from a mature mother.

Sometimes it may seem like weeks before a plant will start throwing pistils after switching the photo period to 12/12. This may be because the plant was not sexually mature. Obviously there are many other variables that can have an effect on this as well.

Wow DL, really great info... thank you very much for that. I’ll be sure to keep that in mind next time I clone. I put all clones into soil yesterday watered with half strength TP... hopefully that’s ok. All but one looked good this morning. Which is ok, I only need one. Wish I could flower out all of them but just don’t have the space... especially as big as Groot is now!
Thanks again!

Ok gang, she’s thirsty again! Thinking it’s time for Cat but not sure. Last couple times I waited for a while and had ok results but I’m looking for the optimal time this round. So @neikodog , whatcha think? Here she was on Friday morning.

Was thinking I could trim her up, top dress with EWC and Recharge, then give Cat drench... she’ll love that!

Afternoon gang, time to update Groot!
Groot received Cat Ionic Drench (12ml+Tea 3ml) in 1.5gal water.
BUT before she got that Drench I made sure to trim her up a bit and top dressed with some EWC and Recharge, then gave the whole Drench over the top to water it in. I usually pour about 1/3 to 1/2 in the tray but when I top dress I pour it all in top. She’s loving life and I’m loving growing her in @Doc Bud soil!

I usually move that temp and humidity sensor up as the plants grows, but thought I’d leave it where it started out as a height reference for everyone looking at the pics.
Lemme know if I need to trim more, I’m usually pretty good at that but I like verification... thanks for looking everyone!!

Edit: and don’t worry gang, I saw that branch I somehow missed on the far left on the straight on pic... it’s beem taken care of...

Hey there Eggs! Nice to see ya around, appreciate the kind words... She is sure pretty eh? Hoping its a purple pheno, been told theres a good chance it is so I am stoked!

Stacking up nice Daj! Those are going to be some very nice colas!

Here I've been typing like a fool I can just talk into this phone and works much better nice!
Yes sir Ween, looks like I may have 20" or so long colas... tallest plant I have grow to date... well I do train them pretty decent to keep em low, so I am pretty surprised she's sitting @ 26" from the soil to the tip, should see a good harvest outa this lady!
Thanks for stopping by guys!

Little update while i'm here! Today Groot was sprayed with Brix (5ml+6oz water) She's now 23 days since flip, 26" from soil to top. She's looking really good, though I do wish I could get more shine and vibrance from the leaves. Just want her as healthy as possible. Clones are doing well, lost one still have three. Hopefully they take off soon so I can decide which to keep and start training, but still a ways off from that. Thanks fro looking gang, if anyone has any suggestions as to help with that sheen, please feel free to write it out here!
