Ace Panama, Groot, In High Brix

Go by the tricomes color. If it's in your range chop it. Pistil colors don't really count. The trichomes are were the indicator to harvest lies!

Nice pics!

Your in the window for sure, might be an interesting buzz, early side of the window.

Plus....Groot’s Ready to turn into a gorilla

Ha! Gorilla Groot! Nice! Yea she is ready to blow up... so I dont wanna keep her waiting much longer. Though after I get her into the 10gal... I may veg one week. I plan on laying her main branches flat and let her recover from that. This way I won't need to top her and it will keep her much shorter. Definitely the early side of the window for Noel, like you said, but I kinda like it that way. Seems a more energetic high that way.

Well I would but Doc has said that a lot of the time he has a hard time getting amber trichomes. Thats why I was checking with the gang... I was pretty sure she was ready to harvest but the trics on the bud are clear/cloudy with quite a few amber. Its all good... cant wait any longer anyhow. Groot will be pushing the walls down in the veg cabinet soon! Thanks ES

Yeah I tend to like the earlier side of the window on my keepers, especially with the way I dry now, which is real slow...like 12 days to get to 68-70% Rh then start the cure.

Some times I label the buds that have amber trichomes, and compare the smoke, flavor, and effect against the buds that where cloudy/ clear trichomes. Just fun shit I like to do, but not for everyone.

Take care 119 and gang!

I thought I was the only one having that. You happen to remember where that post is?

That's way back in the q&a thread, unless he's mentioned it again. I seldom get more than a couple of the sugar leaves myself. The sativas are the ones that really don't ever want to turn amber.

Awesome, great input from great experienced growers! Thank you all very much for helping reassure me. I’ll be sure to take some harvest and Transplant pics, post those tomorrow! I may, unless someone recommends otherwise, let Groot veg for one week after Transplant. Only because I’d like to take the biggest tallest branches and pull them out pretty straight and let her come back from that. That will also give the smaller branches some time to catch up a bit.
Thanks again gang!

I once let a Dr. Grinspoon and a Panama sit in their 10 gallon pots and veg for 2 weeks since they were the only plants in that tent. They are my biggest yielding plants to date. I got 12 zips from the Panama and 10 from the Dr. G. They got huge! Not tall just wide and colas everywhere.
Very useful info there neikodog, thank you for that. I definitely want her to perform well and have a pretty even canopy, so with what you said In mind I think I’ll veg at least a week and if she’s not up to my standards I’ll go 2.

Ok, got Noel harvested and Groot transplanted.
Guess I will start with Groot, unfortunately I am not really impressed with the Root builder pot I was using for her in veg. The root ball was a really... really spongy mass but there really doesn't seem to be anything special about the amount of root around the sides. I really think that having all those extra holes is a disadvantage to growing roots like @Doc Bud. Cause they will act like air pruning pots... preventing the roots from wanting to occupy that space between the soil and pot. Too much air/dries out too fast, as well as roots dont like light much... and all those holes cant be helping that.

There she is in her new pot... and then I had to spread her open so those smaller branches have a chance!

After transplating and stretching her out a bit I watered her with 1/4 Transplant Drench (3.5ml+Water 2gal) Using a 10gal pot for flower.
Gave her plenty of water, so all the soil settled in, and there was some left in the tray when I was done. Duggan told me to make sure and really get her wet the first time after transplant, getting her all settled in.
Now on to Noel and her harvest:
smells really great, wish I could describe it to you guys but eh... I am terrible at that stuff. I dont think this is the same pheno as the last one I grew out. This one just kinda smells like typical good cannabis, no pine sent like on the last one. But I bet it will be smooth, potent stuff! Sorry for the bad pics guys.

Thanks for looking gang, I look forward to your thoughts and comments!

Great harvest, congrats! I like seeing you trim kinda like me...lol. If it's got sugar on it, I leave it. I've told people, if you want it trimmed closer, get some scissors and trim your heart out. I don't say anything any more...neither do they.

Groot looks like she'll really 'dig' that new home. You flipping her right away?

Thanks Gov! Yes I leave most the leaf on... don't wanna cut off the good stuff!
I am going to veg Groot for a week, maybe two... but more than likely only one week. I just want her smaller branches to have a little time to they and catch up before I flip...
I have 3 feet from the top of the pot to my lights... My plants never come close to that height since I trim them pretty dang low. You think I will have enough room in that tent with a week more veg? Or am I making a mistake?

Congrats on the beautiful harvest Daj! Groot looks fantastic, look forward to seeing her flower! :yummy::yummy:

:passitleft:
Hey there Ween! Thanks man, the harvest looks pretty decent to me. I am hoping 3ozs but idk...
Yea ol' Groot is really growing, not the roots I was hoping for but I will use a regular 1gal pot for a clone when its ready and us it this time. Just to see if I can get a panama to have @Doc Bud roots.

Hmmm, it looks big enough and healthy enough to flip right away to me. I've let plants veg after transplant a few times, both on purpose and because I didn't have enough flower space available. Each time, it seemed like a good idea, but it can be hit or miss depending on strain. I ran one GTH#1 2 weeks more veg after transplant and it turned into a damned groot, lmao. I'm 100% certain I could increase my yield by manipulating/extending my veg time, but my plants have been so happy, and resultantly less-needy, in 7 gal pots flipped right at transplant.
