Ace Panama, Groot, In High Brix

Yea you are right Gov, I really should flip her today. Especially since this is, not only the first for this strain, but also my first with a full sativa. So I agree with you, I will set it up to shut down at 5 like usual, starting her first day of flower. I definitely dont need issues as far as space is concerned. Thank you very much Gov... you probably saved me a lot of trouble done the road!

If you keep pulling her to the sides and down the first couple of weeks she will stay a little lower for you for sure. Need to leave the restraints on a good 5-6 weeks or she will pull herself back up into the lights.

Nice harvest DJ! Nice fat branches full of buds.

I remember several people seemed to be having issues using grow bags with the kit a while back. I would think the air pots might cause the same issue. Who knows though. The only way I can get Doc style roots is vegging in plastic half gallons for 3 months.

Duggan uses airpots, but his are custom 26 gallon jobs. :hmmmm: But there's probably a far small percentage of soil exposed to air in his.

Nice harvest! It looks nice and potent.

I think you should flip the Panama now only because you haven't done a plant like this before. Since you took clones you'll know how long you can veg them. The clones won't stretch as much either. You've done a good job training her and you'd probably get away with a week or 2 more in veg but I think you'll be happier letting have all that soil to flower in. She looks great!

Indeed, it does seem as though they work similar to fabric pots... same here, only way I get even close to roots like that are in 1 gal and veg for a long time!

Yes sir, that he does. But yea, he got a lotta soil in those pots!

Thanks for the compliment and the advice! I went ahead and flipped her yesterday, ol' Gov talked me into it... I also much rather go ahead and flower her out since its her first run fro me. Give me a chance to figure her out a bit. Thanks for stopping by neikodog!

Great buds Dajerm, nice harvest!

Yep good advise on the flip, until you get to know her.

I just vegged an OG in a 7 gal for 2 months, it’s friggin huge for my space. Last week I put her in a 15, recharged her right away, and top dress with EWC, and flipped her. Now a Week later she is a tall and bushy and I am for sure pushing my height limits on this one, but I know her already. I’m just having fun!

Thanks Dopy! I’m happy with that harvest... but not happy I have to wait to smoke some! Buds seem nice and dense this round, and they smell sooo good.
Lol... I’d freak out If I had a monster like that! But sounds like you’re having fun for sure! Ima have to go check out your journal...

Hey gang... so I am curious. When drying buds Doc says he puts them in a room with lights on for a while, not long a few hours I believe. My question is: Do my buds NEED total darkness after this? I will jar it up tomorrow and monitor the humidity... but I have those buds in the same cabinet as my clones, I have my veg light turned all the way down, the buds are NOT in direct light, they just get some residual. The light is actually facing down and the buds are 2' or so above it . Is this ok? Once in the jars I will be putting in a nice dark closet.

Awesome, thanks to both of you! I wish I had a more ideal place to dry, but I just have to make do. I can only leave mine hanging for 3-5 days then its into the jars or its over dried... nothing worse imo. Loses a lot of flavor and smell, at least if its a bit wet I can lay it out for a bit longer! My cabinet is 73 and 60% its the best I can do right now.... can hardly wait until I have more space. Thanks again neikodog and Gov!!

My room stays at 80f and 50-55% rh. 5 days is about my average too. I have some hanging 4 days now and it's not ready. My estimate is it will be about perfect tomorrow afternoon. A bit of a trim, some sizing segregation, and into the jars. My jars are in a cool dark place (74f). It'll stay in the jars for a week to stabilize then I pop a boveda packet in. It's almost routine at this point...lmao

Sweet, thanks for those tips! Always nice to hear how others deal with the drying and the curing. These buds feel pretty dense, so they may take longer to dry... might take the 5 days. I use those packs as well, they work pretty good!

Ok, got Noel harvested and Groot transplanted.
Guess I will start with Groot, unfortunately I am not really impressed with the Root builder pot I was using for her in veg. The root ball was a really... really spongy mass but there really doesn't seem to be anything special about the amount of root around the sides. I really think that having all those extra holes is a disadvantage to growing roots like @Doc Bud. Cause they will act like air pruning pots... preventing the roots from wanting to occupy that space between the soil and pot. Too much air/dries out too fast, as well as roots dont like light much... and all those holes cant be helping that.

There she is in her new pot... and then I had to spread her open so those smaller branches have a chance!

After transplating and stretching her out a bit I watered her with 1/4 Transplant Drench (3.5ml+Water 2gal) Using a 10gal pot for flower.
Gave her plenty of water, so all the soil settled in, and there was some left in the tray when I was done. Duggan told me to make sure and really get her wet the first time after transplant, getting her all settled in.
Now on to Noel and her harvest:
smells really great, wish I could describe it to you guys but eh... I am terrible at that stuff. I dont think this is the same pheno as the last one I grew out. This one just kinda smells like typical good cannabis, no pine sent like on the last one. But I bet it will be smooth, potent stuff! Sorry for the bad pics guys.

Thanks for looking gang, I look forward to your thoughts and comments!
Nice work.

I use to dry in my grow room too, and it works fine. I set up a new tent just for drying now. I stays at 50-60*f and a contro, exhaust fan, and charcoal filter to keep the humidity between 55-60%. It is pitch dark in there, and I have a hepa filter on the intake, figured if I’m gonna wash the buds, need to keep as much dust out of the dry tent.

My dry times went from 4-5 days in the grow room to 9-14 days in the tent with way more terpenoids being preserved, at least to my taste. Then I start the cure. Without saying anything, friends noticed the difference in the final produce, namely the taste and smoothness of the smoke.

Hell yea Dopy, thats what i'm talkin bout! I would love that set up, and one day I will have it. Just gotta wait for the kid to move out so I have more space, or we may move after the kid is out... not sure yet.
Thank you for sharing your dry space with us, sounds like a nice setup for sure!
