Ace Panama, Groot, In High Brix

Thanks Gov, this white widow has been a pleasure to grow. The frost is just unbelievable... best I’ve ever grown to date. I’m definitely happy I decided to give her a run in Docs soil. I appreciate the compliment!

On the Panama, I really need her to hold out till I harvest the white widow. But I’ll flower her in a 10... maybe a 15. I don’t know if I have enough height for the 15. I worry she’d be hard to control in a large pot. What do you guys think?

Hey there Duggan :passitleft:
I think she'll be fine as low as you're training her as long as you have a good 3-4ft total above the pot. How much over head do you have to work with?

Hey there Morglie, luckily my DIY led panel is good even light, it’s pretty intense but I’m pretty sure I could get as close as 6-8” from these lights and not burn. If that’s the case, and I can let them get that close, I have about 2.5 feet right now. I can rearrange things a bit and increase that to around 3-3.5 feet. But that will be max. But she’ll have the whole 2x3 space to spread out. It’ll probably get pretty tight but I’m down for the challenge! Really looking forward to a place where I have more space to grow. Proper 8 foot ceilings and such with no tent would be awesome!

Something I have done in the past with the Sativa dominate strains.
I get them to start flower and delay the RED Spectrum change until I
can see they stopped the stretch and then I switch to the Red. It helps
keep them a little shorter, I have a 7 ft tall tent and have manged to finish
with 2 feet or more extra head space but have never run the Panama so don't
know about that one but you have a great start and I am putting money on
the fact its going to be a great grow

Hope you have a better day than me. I just cut down Big Nugs Nugs #2. The whole plant Hermied. Gotta love this stuff huh. Ya get one every now and again. Well at least it was far enough along to get some hash out of it!

When life gives you hermies, make hash!!! More pics in the grow journal.

Ah shit that sucks man... sorry for your troubles. I’ve had a few of the strains I’ve run hermi just enough to give timu little seeds. It does suck for sure, I hope your next one goes better!

I still have another one going. It's very healthy. I love my digital microscope best 20 bucks I've spent for growing. At about 90 days in you never want to see that!

Ok gang, sorry but ima dump some photos of Noel. I just can't not take pics of her... so excited for this harvest. I'm mostly posting them cause its getting close to chop, she still got a lot of clear, and a lot of cloudy... some amber here and there... she has slowed down on drinking but still a few new pistils here and there. she's now at 58 days or 8.25 weeks. I'll post a couple pics of the veg cabinet as well.
Also, Groot was fed yesterday with Transplant Drench (10ml+ Tea 2ml) in 1.25 gal of warm water.

Thanks for looking!!

Awesome, well at least its not a total loss, you can make some hash outa one and then enjoy the other later down the line! I really need to check out your journal and I will very soon!
You could also top her right before you flip. I did that with the Panama Haze and it kept her in the tent and gave me really big colas where I topped it. I do this everytime I flip the Clementine as well. She won't skip a beat and it will control the stretch.
Awesome! Thanks so much for that advice, I think for a less stress grow(less stress on me) I will follow that advice. How much do you usually take off the top?
What he ^ said!:thumb:
Oh you know it Duggs! I will always take advice from that kind soul, he definitely knows what he's doing! Your plants are looking great BTW, you deserve all those wins and more good sir!

I just take the top off of each main. You could go deeper if she is already too big but that won't be necessary from the looks of it. Panama doesn't stretch a ton but it does some. I would expect 12-18" if you don't top it.

Awesome, thanks! I am kinda worried, it doesn't seem the smaller branches want to catch up with the big main branches. I want her to have a nice canopy when I put her to flower... would you recommend topping now so maybe the smaller stuff can catch up? Or just wait till its being transplanted?

Well the more tops the less she'll stretch. If you just tie down the tops, get them below the next lowest branch the lower stuff will catch up. If you top all 4 mains again you'll end up with 8 but it will slow her down a bit. Then when you prune her before flip you'll probably end up taking everything below where you topped it again. It just depends on how long you want to veg her. If it was me I'd just tie all 4 tops down and see what the lower stuff does.

K, I have them all tied down and pulled pretty low, but I’ll try and coax them lower where they are below the tops of the smaller branches. Thank you for the tips! I’ve never grown a Sativa before so I’ll need the help for sure.

Yes, more good advise from Neiko. What you describe Neiko , is exactly what i would do as well. Topping is very extreme , so if tieing down works , it's a better option. SCing the leaders works too , but that only slows for a lil bit (depending on how much damage was done), where topping really slows things down for many days. Remember too, she's a Sativa...she wants to grow and grow. They require more skill as a grower , some can be very challenging with a lot of stretching and or very , very long bloom cycles. Anyhow , i remember when Doc was growing Willie Nelson , and some Colombian...he went right to 12/12 from about 2 or 3 inches tall....they grew to over 6 feet ,...didn't they Neiko?
Nice sunny night eh......:yahoo:

Awesome convo guys!! Thanks so much!
I pulled those larger branches down lower, sure wish I had a bigger veg cab right now. I’d like to lay those main branches out horizontally and let it grow up from that. That would be a great equalizer, right? And then maybe I wouldn’t have to top even at Transplant? Just curious cause I don’t want slow er down, want her ready a week after I harvest Noel... which hopefully is soon:rollit::yummy:
