ACE Killer A5 Haze

Welcome CagedApe thanks for stopping in. Yes- it’s pretty damn tiny. I can really only fit a 2 gallon pot and train a single 3’ plant down to around 24-30” .... but it is what it is for now until I move.

Thats a 29 and yea he was due for a bigger tank. Flowerhorns are way more personable when in a bit smaller tank but that was pushing it and i was planning on upgrading him. These are old photos though, unfortunately we left to Miami for a week and my heater freaked outwhile we were away and cooked him! Was a crappy deal for sure.

I have a new one now that’s in my profile pic, he’s doing great but still young. I’ll grow him out to the size of the other one before upgrading him. I have a 125 gallon too with a bunch of

Our first snakehead was a Burmese snakehead and can grow up to 4’ long. He grew up to about 12” long when he killed him self. Shot at the lid to get our attention for some snacks, and hit the part with the light with no give, and broke his neck (or what ever) he floated to the bottom and couldn’t breath anymore. It was sad.

I miss owning fish.

He likes to be played with, as in stock my hand in there and he likes his head rubbed. He will literally beg for attention. It’s insane. Super sociable, very very smart. They are a true wet pet. He will sit and stare at you from across the room and try to coax you into coming over to the aquarium for attention. Very cool

The one pictured with the Pilsner is the one I have now. He’s doing great! I swear these microgrows are harder than when I have my full size tents and lights out. Less soil mass for buffering capacity, less leeway for environmental factors heat/airflow, less distance to keep the plants away from the lights, etc

Either way its been fun to tinker with and I get a few 2-3 OZ per grow. So its something

She’s doing good starting to pick up steam too. I’m bored out of my mind on quarantine so I’m doing photo shoots with my vegging plants like there’s no tomorrow

What’s surprising to me is how tight the internode spacing is. I thought this one would be more lanky for certain, but here we are at the third node and she’s as tight and stacked as can be. Could be the LEDs too (running a solsheet at 3500k for both veg and flower). Will be interesting to see what, if any, changes in structure appear as she develops more. I’m assuming she’ll narrow and elongate as she goes.

thinking I might turn up the light intensity a tad now that she’s got her feet underneath her a bit. Maybe I’ll give her one more week, just to make sure she’s a bit more developed and can handle it. Right now I’ve got it dimmed all the way down.
