Aberration Goes Ker Bloom! - Perpetual

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

I added Silica Blast for the younger ones. None of the nutes I have lists it. I want to see if it will help with limb ridgidity and/or heat resistance. The temps are still high some of the time in there. I should have a chance to pick up an 18,000 btu AC tomorrow.

Please note that while I am a big fan of organics, I am not a purist. No one has ever complained about the result. This is how I take the middle path.

Zowza - I was coming over to check out your electrical and got a treat of a surprise by those pipes! Those are great!

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

I have a thing for glass, even though I mostly smoke joints. I keep buying more. The rest either need to be cleaned up or found, or both. I'll keep an eye out. :bong:

I bought a new AC and was ready to duct it properly today, but I couldn't get it out of the back of the van alone safely, forget about being discreet. Hopefully an assistant will drop by tomorrow. If he does, we can take out the 24K and the 12K, and put the new 18.5K unit in. Then, with all newly laid and sealed insulated ducting, I shouldn't have any new heat issues. Fingers crossed.https://www.420magazine.com/community/styles/420style/smilies/thumb.gif
:thumb:

Here are the plants. First, from 5/11, a pic of the two 18" BDs I transplanted to bags the other day. They will hopefully be big enough to go in on the 29th.

20100511Aber-01-BDs.jpg

Then, from the 12th, here is the AC kludge. The upper white box is the non-functional 25K unit that I couldn't pull down without strong help. The lower white box is the 12K. Because I had to work around obstacles, the ducting is absolutely ludicrous. Another angle in a minute.

20100512Aber-01-wtf.jpg

And then the rest of these are from 5/13. First BS.1J:

20100513Aber-04-bd_1j.jpg

20100513Aber-05-bd_1j.jpg

Then we have the young and fresh G13xGB.1DD:

20100513Aber-07-g13xgb_1dd.jpg

CryLo.1A is still doing fine. She needs racking to hold her up, and she's covered in buds. But as you can see by my finger, the entire operation is in miniature. This strain is not behaving. If she doesn't get her act together I'm going to stop cloning her and let her go. Too many issues. The smoke is going to have to be pretty spectacular I think or she's a goner.

20100513Aber-09-crylo_1a.jpg

Poor KK2.1B has really gone over the edge in this heat. She'll be smokable but her buds are going to be a funky.

Here's the promised second angle on the Freezleuphagus. Yep. That's as efficient as hell. Yeesh. The door out of bloom is just to the right of the pic. You can see the filter and fan. There's a dehumidifier on buckets and a 13 gal trash can in there too. Yeah. It all needs to be ripped out and redone proper again.

20100513Aber-13-wtf.jpg

Here is L3, one of the new Lavender sisters. Still young, and bushy as the Lav always is. These are nice plants, but I'm glad I won't be trimming them. These girls pack a lot of foliage. I'm thinking maybe the excess will make it less of a shock if I start hiding or removing big fan leaves. We shall see.

20100513Aber-14-L3.jpg

20100513Aber-15-L3.jpg

Last, here is L2. She's L3's twin anyway.

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

those fan leaves are HUGE!!!:ganjamon:

Yeah, this is a very indica plant. I can't wait to get my hands on more of her bud. :bong:

---

I got PS.1E back dry today. Weighed out to 161.5g dry weight. That's 5 oz 19.75g, so not bad, but I prefer to be over 6 oz per plant. This is exactly why I decided to put them in at ~30" instead of ~24" tall going forward.

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

How many day's in flower for the one with yellow fan leaves? My plant's look like that at 42 days... :thankyou::peace::yummy: Nice plants...

Thanks. You are talking about the third picture, right? That's BD.1J. I mis-wrote her as BS.1J in that last picture set. She is Blue Dream at 56 days today, so 54 in that picture. It is all the big fan leaves only so far. She needs to go 60-70 days. I have her scheduled to start a 10-day flush in 4 days. I'm actually pretty psyched. I like Blue Dream and it'll be good to have a whole load of it.

:ganjamon:

Tomorrow I will be, for all intents and purposes, barricaded inside my grow space for several hours. I'm really broken up about it.

:yahoo:

I expect I will at least find time to do some transplanting. :eyeroll: I have been fairly negligent in my propagation with all the other distractions in my life. Tomorrow I should be able to start making up for that.

Transplanting day!

Code:

So now if I can just get new cuttings started I should be good on the propagation front. We pulled the 25K AC out (wasn't working). Now I will work on getting the 18K set up while the 12K muddles through.

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

Despite my recent comments (somewhere) about how I generally regulate dryness with pot size and feed volume, every once in a while I need to let them dry a bit. I think they may go three days before the next feed and not two. Small veg is a different matter. I need to clone and give most of it away asap.

This is BD.1J's last meal before flush. KK2.1B is going flush too (again). 12 days until I cut both down.

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

Looks like everything is going good in here, as usual (barring the AC issue).

How big of pots are your 'Large Veg' plants in that you feed .5 gal (2liters) every 2 days?

My super lemon haze seedlings are in 4in pots, and ultimately will be in 5 gal grow bags.

Should I go straight to 5 gal after the 4 inch pots root, or should I gradually build up from the 4 in pot?

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

I took 12 cuttings:

3 x G13xGB.1EE
3 x BD.2A
3 x PS.2A
3 x L1

I need to get cuttings of the other three strains, but they needed watering first. I'm trying to cut back on numbers, so only 3 cuttings per strain now.

Code:
--> Veg 1 - Large veg (6):

   L1
   G13xGB.1EE
   BD.2A, BD.2B

   G13xGB.2C, G13xGB.2D

1. Fed 0.5 gal. each (3 gal)
   Per gal:
1 T Pure Blend Pro Grow
	 1 t Cal-Mag
        1/2 oz Yucca
Diluted to 900 ppm (from ~980)
   pH target: 6.00	Actual: 5.97 @ 21.2 C
	1/2 t Companion

--> Veg 2 - Small veg (31):

   PS.2A, PS.2B
   MT1.1A
   MT2.1A
   CryLo.2A, CryLo.2C
   KK2.2A, KK2.2B
   G13xGB.2B

   PS.2A, PS.2B, PS.2C
   G13xGB.2A, G13xGB.2B, G13xGB.2C
   BD.2A, BD.2B, BD.2C
   L3.1A, L3.1B, L3.1C
   CryLo.2A, CryLo.2B
   KK2.2A, KK2.2B, KK2.2C
   MT3.1A, MT3.1B, MT3.1C

1. Fed to saturation (3 gal)
   Per gal:
1 t Pure Blend Pro Grow
	 1 t Cal-Mag
        1/2 oz Yucca
   Natural @ 520 ppm
   pH target: 6.00	Actual: 6.04 @ 21.4 C
	1/2 t Companion

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

I got cuttings for two more strain in the cloner:

3 x CryLo.2A
3 x KK2.2B

I didn't take any Matanuskan clones. I think I'm going to stop growing the Matty at all. My mentor is pretty strong with the Matty, so I can get new clones or even just trade for a jar of finished ganja if I need to. Matty is a pain to grow.

I also expect to stop propagating the CryLo and KK as well. I just haven't made a final decision on those.

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

So I know you ideally won't keep crylo because of its low bud production, and you probably don't expect it to be anything special.

What don't you like about KK, or are you just bored with growing it?

I was watching this documentary the other day called How Weed Won the West and it featured Brett Bogue the guy who invented the strain and won the top sativa for the 2007 Cannabis Cup with KK.

What does Matty do to make it a pain?

Are you gonna flower at least 1 of them... it looks as if you have 6?

KK is just a touchy strain. It shows deficiency very easily. If anything goes wrong, she is the first to show it and the last to recover. The result isn't worth the trouble I guess.

Matty grows with a huge amount of vegetation. I like a more open structure. Blue Dream has the same high (maybe better), produces more, looks better, tastes better, and is easier to grow. I like the Matty, but there just isn't a good reason to keep it when I have Blue Dream.

Any plants I have of those strains are just being used to maintain the strains for now. When I finally decide, I'll give them away. I have flowered all of them at one point or another.

That said, if I decide to keep 5 instead of 4, Matty will be kept.

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

We are using Hygrozyme now at 2 teaspoons per gallon, once a week. Mentor swears by it. It's pretty spendy at US $37/quart! I better notice a difference or I'm not keeping it.

I really need to scope CryLo.1A and get an idea about harvest. I have her in tandem with G13xGB.1DD, but CryLo will not be going another 25 days. It is near.

As soon as I am confident that the recently transplanted clones have survived the trauma, I have a whole lot of plants to get rid of.

Also, if you don't need a whole tray and can get by with 24 or less clones at a time, you can avoid using any of the edge holes in a 5 x 10 rooting tray. This helps prevent leaves from getting stuck under the edge of the dome. They rot when they do that. No good. I only have 18 in now so I avoided the edges all the way around. I think it will improve mortality.
