I have an ant issue. Ants herd aphids. Aphids are bad. Therefore, ants are bad. I'm going to have to beat them back small-scale for now. In a month or so I hope to have the time to exterminate, clean, and seal the whole space.

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

That will slow them down. You will need to find where the colony is and hit that with some boiling water or something. Otherwise they will be back.

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

Is this from OCG?
Yes. ;)

There is no chance of permanently eradicating all of the colonies in my area. I can keep them at bay though. If I thoroughly clean, seal all openings, and spray the outside of the foundation with [insert name of pest spray I can't remember], they will be kept out. This is a normal routine for me - I've just been tardy about doing this since the weather warmed up. I already made one run around the foundation, but I need to step it up.

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

That is a fantastic pic of a fantastic bud. % of THC/weight of that plant is awesome.

And the pics are as well. Do you use a leash to press the button? There is no blur there. Very nice.

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

It is pretty nice smoke. Thanks for dropping in. :welcome:

So here I give away a silly little secret. I feed the bloom plants first, despite the order of my documentation. I guess I better come clean and document it correctly:

Code:
--> G13xGB.1A, PS.1E, KK2.1B, BD.1J, CryLo.1A (bloom):

1. Pre-flushed: 0.5 gal. each (3 gal)
   Per gal:
	 1 T liquid bone meal
   pH adjusted to 6.04 @ 22.4 C
	1/2 T unsulfured molasses

2. Fed G13xGB.1A (Charity): 1 gal. (1 gal)
   Per gal:
	 2 t liquid bone meal
        1/2 T Calcium Syrup
	 2 t Biggest Bloom
	 2 t Soil Nute
	 2 t PGE
	 1 t Cal-Mag
	1/2 t TM-7
	 1 t Carbon sweet
	 3 oz Amino Blast
	 1 oz yucca
	 1 T Notrozyme
   Natural @ 1220 ppm
   pH adjusted to 6.03 @ 22.0 C
	1/2 t Companion
	 1 t Bt-i

3. Fed PS.1E (Hope): 1 gal. (3 gal)
   Fed KK2.1B (Faith): 1.5 gal.
   Per gal:
	 2 t liquid bone meal
         2 t Calcium Syrup
	 2 t Biggest Bloom
	 2 t Soil Nute
	 2 t PGE
	 1 t Cal-Mag
	1/2 t TM-7
	 2 t Feather Tea
	3/4 t Carbon sweet
	 2 oz Amino Blast
	 1 oz yucca
	 1 T Notrozyme
Adjusted with Bioactive/water to 1220 ppm (from ~1320 ppm)
   pH adjusted to 6.04 @ 21.8 C
	1/2 t Companion
	 1 t Bt-i

5. Fed BD.1J (Betty Jane): 1.25 gal. (2 gal)
   Fed CryLo.1A (unnamed): 0.75 gal.
   Per gal:
	 2 t liquid bone meal
         2 t Calcium Syrup
	 2 t Biggest Bloom
	 2 t Soil Nute
	 2 t PGE
	 1 t Cal-Mag
	1/2 t TM-7
	 2 t Feather Tea
	1/2 t Carbon sweet
	 1 oz Amino Blast
	 1 oz yucca
	 1 T Notrozyme
Adjusted with Bioactive/water to 1210 ppm (from ~1370 ppm)
   pH adjusted to 6.00 @ 21.7 C
	1/2 t Companion
	 1 t Bt-i

--> KK2 (bloom, flushing):

1. Flush: 2 gallons water (2 gal)
   Per gal:
	 2 T Clearex
   pH adjusted to 5.99 @ 20.7 C

And then I bloke the little glass bulb on my pH meter. Dang. I have a backup, but it has to soak for 30 minutes before I can use it. So in the meantime, you just have the bloom feed report and the messed up pH series. I'll do the veg feed report when I can do the veg feed. :)

Code:
Runoff pH:

Plant pH
---------------------
KK2 6.17
G13xGB.1A	Damaged the pH meter
PS.1E ???
KK2.1B ???
BD.1J ???
CryLo.1A	???

I really need to get a new probe tip. Hopefully I don't end up just buying the whole thing.

I must say, the difference in the speed with which the new probe settles on a measurement compared to the speed of the old one is astounding. Maybe I should replace the probe more often. This is soooo much faster. :bong:

:peace:

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

I have heard that strong chemicals can affect the life of the probe. Anyone know what a "strong chemical" is with respect to growing? I assume it means any product in its undiluted form. Once in solution its probably ok?

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

I basically have been using your program as guide and I am already seeing tremendous results. I'll know exactly in about a month and half but so far they look amazing. Better than anytime before:thankyou:.

A suggestion- would it be possible to add the days from start/days to finish next the name of your plants. Just a thought:surf:

when you show your feddings:).

I don't know. I would have guessed that organics, outside of liquid lime and golden amber, should be fine. I intend to test that theory as soon as I have my mythical 'other project' done. It's been a huge 4-year process, this other project, and it is about to be completed. Then I should have at least a little more time. I intend to ppm and pH all my nutes individually. So we will see if it ruins a probe I guess. :bong:

Not a bad idea. It becomes more and more a status report on the feeding event. Which is a good way to look at it, because there are other types of events I want to record. If I ever have the time to work on it. Again, this 'other project' truly consumes nearly all my free time, but it will be done soon. I'll get to that.

Ab, how'd u break the sensor on ur PH pen? Is that an Oakton? If so where do u get ur replacement sensors?

I use a little 4 oz glass measuring cup to hold the distilled water I use to rinse the probe between measurements. I got careless and missed the opening a bit. I caught the edge of the glass in that groove in the tip, which guided the glass rim right to the pH sensor bulb. Oops. I have no doubt that bit of clumsiness will cost me at least $50 and maybe $100.

So learn from my mistake. It's wicked easy to damage this thing if you are careless. [sarcastically]:welldone:[/sarcastically]

Yeah, it's an Oakton, which is actually made by Eutech. It's a pHTestr30. I don't know where I can get the tips locally. I'm going to have to ask around.

CryLo.1A is doing great in there. PS.1E is 20 days before harvest (H-20), so she goes to 1 t Carbon Sweet and 3 oz. Amino Blast per gallon now. KK2 comes out Thursday. I promise to get pics a post them.

Code:
Runoff pH:

Plant pH

KK2 6.87
G13xGB.1A	6.83
PS.1E 6.93
KK2.1B 6.75
BD.1J 6.56
CryLo.1A	6.62

I'm beginning to wonder about the relevance of my specific sampling method. Despite those numbers (and with the exception of KK2) they are all very healthy. I don't get it. Maybe I should expect a higher runoff than my target? I dunno. Anyone know this one?

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

Maybe with the abundance of organic nutes you use, over time and the plant uptakes those nutrients, it raises the pH of the actual soil.

Here is a little article about soil pH.

SL 256/SS480: Soil pH and the Home Landscape or Garden

Basically, from what I have read (and I could be wrong, I am high and my comprehension isn't the greatest ;) ) the more nutrients you use, the plant will uptake them and the pH naturally rises with it.

It also says in that article that once the pH in soil is high, its very hard to bring it down, as opposed to when its low, its easier to bring it up!

Can't wait to see CryLo... and PS!

Have a good one!!
