A Visual Journal With Pigeons420

Ahhhh...... Finally stopped long enough to do the wake 'n bake. :laughtwo:

I start the day with a super-potentiated BioBomb brownie that keeps me going until 7:00 PM, so this was very timely.

:hugs:

I haven't kept up with your videos. Think of how wasted I'll be. It's Saturday night. After my update I may consider that adventure. Lol!

Have you tried decarbing any of your cannabis at the 230 F for 110 min yet? Rifleman tried, and he's been riding a wave of delight for a couple days himself. I do this with what I'm going to smoke too. B-I-G difference.

Haha! That just hit me..... if I watch the whole week's videos and take a hoot with each one I'll be ........ I can't even begin to imagine. Two with the wake 'n bake and I'm done for now. Lol!

Have a great weekend Pigeons. I have an update to get to. MUAH!! :hugs:

Just a quick update of my nice little plant. She is now over 9 weeks old and she still looks very happy. She is standing under 3 15w LED lamps behind the window so that they can catch sunlight in the afternoon and it works quiete well. I haven't fed her 1 time in the whole 9 weeks because she still looks very happy without any problems so she doesn't need to get fed. I do have thought about cloning het but I don't have te resources to clone her now. So, this is my very first plant, I do have 2 more but especially this one gets the spotlight. I think I'll let her grow a little more and then begin or mid january I will put her in flowering mode! So tell me what you guys think. And happy growing, happy christmas holidays and have a nice day!

Cheers!

She has lovely structure, but I'm most impressed with the beauty and luster of her leaves. I can tell she's completely enchanted you. :battingeyelashes:

The cloning cartel is here to help! ;-)
You do not need resources to clone. Cup of dirt, stick cutting in that, keep dirt moist. It's not the best way but it works and you don't have to buy more stuff.

Also I would consider upgrading lights ASAP. 3x15w is only going to produce 1.5 oz if everything is perfect. More light = more yeild all else being good...

Thank you sue! And I know Otta, thats why I want to clone the plant. The yield is still something that i'm excited for because i'm even happy with one ounce though. But even when the lights are pretty weak, they do get a good amount of sunlight from outside when there are no clouds. Today was a good bright day so, if the yield is that bad then first I'll clone or I will upgrade to some better lamps i'm not really worried about it though because I don't smoke my self I just like to grow the plant and it's legal to sell to dispenceries or coffeeshops. for 3 to 5 euro per gram so if I only get 40 grams, then that is still 200 euro that I make for having fun!

I appreciated the video on cleaning the bong Pigeons. You inspired me to get off my butt and clean my own. I did a little pictorial on my own process that I wanted to share.

Cleaning The Bong

First off, my bong is just a small, simple variety. I'm an edibles girl, so the bong is only called into action during the late hours after the brownies have worn off and I know I still have hours of work ahead, or I'm taking a hoot with you. :battingeyelashes:  I smoke Dark Devil Auto most often, and all that purple and oil can very quickly muck up the glass.

I start by gathering the supplies.

IMG_268718.JPG

Next, remember to take out the screen. You'd think this would be obvious. Most often it is. :laughtwo:

IMG_268814.JPG

Turn on the hot water and get it really hot before beginning to pour the water down the drain. There's oil in that water that I don't want sticking to anything. Hot running water makes that easier to control.

IMG_268911.JPG

The bong goes under the hot water stream for a minute or so.....

IMG_269118.JPG

..... while I get the stem set for soaking. The container is the top of a butter dish. My stem fits right in there like it was made for this purpose. The stem is covered with 91% ISO and left to sit for a few minutes.

IMG_269213.JPG

The bong now gets filled to the max with 91% ISO without blocking any holes. Note the stem opening sits over the container holding the stem to catch any oversplash. I let this sit for about five minutes.

IMG_269315.JPG

Using the pipe cleaner, which I've fashioned into a small loop at the end, I carefully wipe the residue off the inside. The ISO strips this right off. It's so easy it's laughable.

IMG_269417.JPG

I keep cleaning until it's all clear.

IMG_269513.JPG

The used ISO goes back into another bottle for storage. This can be used a few more times.

IMG_269615.JPG

Back into the sink for a hot waterfall to rinse out the ISO.

IMG_269715.JPG

On to the stem.

IMG_269813.JPG

It's a simple matter to shape the pipe cleaner to fit in the nooks and crannies. It's only challenging the first couple times. Then it becomes second nature.

IMG_269912.JPG

IMG_270011.JPG

A follow-up shower.

IMG_27019.JPG

All ready to go. The entire process, including soak, takes less than 10 minutes to perform.

IMG_270214.JPG

I pour this one over the sink. :cheesygrinsmiley:

IMG_270319.JPG

Remember what I said earlier about oil residue? Some got on the sink anyway. Pigeons, I noticed you have lots of this in your sink. It's a simple matter to clean it up, and I'm certain Mrs. Pigeons will thank you for caring enough to do so.

IMG_270415.JPG

IMG_2705.PNG

If you wipe it without some type of solvent the oil smears in the most delightful way. :laughtwo: A paper towel with a bit of 70% ISO will take it up in a quick swipe. The 70% is strong enough to break the bond to the surface but not strong enough to strip off any protective finish. The 91% will take off paint and varnish and damage the finishes in your kitchen, if you're not careful. It's great for cutting the oil and residue loose from the glass though.

IMG_270619.JPG

Thanks for the inspiration Pigeons. Now I can get a clean taste of the Carnival. I put this off for three days :laughtwo:

Thank you for that Tutorial Susan, that was perfect! I particularly enjoy that you reuse your solution. That's a big thing in my house. Reduce, reuse, recycle.

My wife was reading your post along with me last night and when she read the part about keeping the sink clean her response was "nah it's the bong cleaning sink, all good" haha. Married the perfect woman I tell you!

Thought it was a beautiful day for a few snap shots!

It was a feed day for the flower garden so as I sit here they are sitting out at the watering hole drying themselves off. But let's see them before they got all wet!

Heya pidger,, cheers friend,, all the best green irish karma sent to you and yours this day, and every day.

I must admit, first off, that I don't watch many videos, of any kind,, tho I have watched some of yours,, i feel bad, then I eventually do get over it,,

But for the past few weeks I have been kickin myself because I had an idea for you, a video,, but, I feel bad, for not watching em all so I sat back and did nothing.

Nothing...

I so wish I hadda cuz when imtell you what the idea was you will think,,, 'sure nivek, sure ya did, so easy to say that now,, ",, i know you would never say that but things go thru ones head so fast, one can only sit and listen in amazement

The idea,, how to clean a bong

What a pain of a job that can be, and some bongs have so many chambers etc,, can be difficult to clean them, indeed

Thank you sue as well,, she goes so far out of her way, every day,, vigilant to say the least she be

Anyhoo, just wanted to add a tip to bong cleaning, iffin I might,, might have even been mentioned, I dunno, but

I also don't reuse my alcohol because I use very little, comparatively speaking,, i have a shallow bowl with some alcy and a small stiff brush I use to clean bits and pieces

But that is not the tip,, this is

What makes using plain alcy in a chambered system so difficult and time consuming is the lack of abrasive material to scrub the glass. Now, if one dumps a bit of alcy in the bottom chamber, and plugs both ends and shakes, the alcy will make its way to the seperate chambers, under agitation,

so, for abrasion, I add some coarse salt, not a ton, then shake like a crazy person, or even just shake the bottle, works too.

The salt also makes its way to the individual chambers helping the cleaning.

This tip cut my bong cleaning labour in half, or at least fifteen thirty seconds

Cheers friend,, any spare time you run into this oh so unbusy time of year,, i have started a journal of me own,, a visit from the pidger would be an honour indeed,, cheers friend,, best of the season and beyond

oh, one more thing,, when using me bong,, the two piece bowl fixture,, you know i talkin about, i am simply astounded by the amount of tar stuff that accumulates there, especially the bowl piece. i clean mine out with a pin, from the underside, it is wetty, so the crap comes right off,, the tar,, ewwww, gobs of it even after just a couple of bowls

look at sues pic,, that's what i talkin about pidger

oh my freakin goodness,, where would that crap go if it did not collect on the bowl piece???

astounded,, i was,, and still am,, astounded,, huh

Pigeons is always mentioning that he tries to clean his bong daily. That residue builds up immediately. This is my newly-cleaned bong after about 20 hits over the course of the evening.
