A Taste Of Chocolate And Blueberries With Vipar Spectra XS 1500 Pro

Highya Carmen,

How about some fine mesh cloth to put over her (with a makeshift frame) to keep the bugs off? Ingenuity is needed at a time like this. Hope you don't stress too much. Happy Smokin'

That is such a good idea Bode. I actually have the tulle from my outdoor growing I can use. I must just figure out a way to rig it up. These things are coming in at night, attracted to the light I think. Happy smokin' :)

This is what I rigged up for the Chocodope tonight. I duct taped together two large bbq skewers x 5 to make 5 stakes which I placed in the pot at an outward angle. Then I wrapped the tulle around the stakes and pegged it closed as best I could. Hopefully that keeps the bugs out if another lot swarm in tonight. If there is another swarm I will move the plant and DOOM them again.

Highya Carmen,

Great job! Love ingenuity! Comes with indepentence. I hope it works well. Just be aware that the light intensity will be less with the net in place. You really did a great job! Happy Smokin'

Thanks Shed!
It was nice to watch this happen! :green_heart: Such beautiful work folks! :circle-of-love:
Thanks Otter, the beauty of the collaborative effort :circle-of-love::passitleft:

Bode, thank you for the suggestion! :high-five: I will take that net down during the day and only keep it on at night unless the need arises.

Happy growing y'all :green_heart:

Finally an overcast day! Well, partly cloudy really. I took advantage of the coolth and emptied the soil from the Blueberry bag into a 30 L tote. Pity that 3rd node branch broke early in the game. I pulled fat colas off that plant and the roots were impressive. They will now decompose into a great source of carbon and myco for the next run. I will jazz it up with the revitalizer mix and leave it until needed in a few months.

It's nice to have the pot out of the way. At this time of year I am anxious to see the end of the grow and all signs thereof to have vanished from sight. By the end of the month it will all be disassembled and cleaned up. Then I will breathe easy but I will also get super bored.

Highya Carmen,

I get started in April, depending on the moon. So, weather is favorable to get a grow in where you are? I hate to see the grow end, because it means winter isn't far behind. How's the cinchbug problem? Hope you don't get too bored in the warm season!! Happy Smokin'

Hey Bode,

We'll be starting up at the same time then :) Cinchbugs were not evident last night but I did spot a few tonight so I moved the plant and sprayed the area with pyrethroid again. I caught the praying mantis and put it outside. I hope it is safe.

I work on my art Bode, but it is a discipline so it gets tedious when I'm forced to work at it in isolation. I do get bored and I get lonely. I enjoy my time chatting with my friends on the forum. At least the downtime is in the warmer months, so I can enjoy the weather. Winter gets tough of course but that's my growing season.

The weather gets cold but I have managed decent harvests year after year, so no complaining :) We go below 10 degrees on the coldest days but we haven't hit 0 yet!

Happy smoking!

Sunday 7th January Update

One to go. It's bulking up and looking frostier too. I gave it some water today, four days since the last watering. I was going every two days, so it is slowing down I think.

Thank you for keeping me company while I grow. Have a super Sunday!

PS. Do any of you remember the name of the pipe cleaning company that was a sponsor? Are they still a sponsor? I looked on the list and didn't see anything obvious. I want to make inquiries. Pipe cleaning is very messy and wasteful. I need to find a better way. I am boiling my pipe which cleans it beautifully, but I have no idea what to do with the residue when emptying the water. Anyone with tips / tricks?

Choco looks dope! It's really getting bulky as it slows down for the final countdown.

Not on the sponsors page that I can find. Last seen Sept 25, 2023.

Down the drain...unless you are truly in need and want to leave it out to evaporate so you can collect what's left behind (assuming there are no cleaning products involved).
