That Daxxie looks like she has had the lip job I want done to remove the smoking lines. Filler I tell ya

Thank you Absorber! This I needed to hear :)

Thanks Con. How do you apply the cinnamon? Do you sprinkle it on the soil? How much do you use?

They tend to hide under leaf tips. They are fewer in number now but they are there nonetheless.

See those beautiful white pistils, they're no longer there. The plant looks horrible. The leaves are drooping and the colas look burnt and dry. Are they still going to grow?
just sprinkle over the soil a few table spoons more if needed it will not harm your plant, maybe try bounce sheets around the edge of the pot also

Thank you Con,
Absorber was saying that he read that cinnamon in the soil will kill the beneficial fungi, and that is pretty much what the list says, that cinnamon "combats other fungi". I'm a bit concerned about the potential for messing up the ph of my soil if the myco and microbial food chain / relationship is interrupted, which is what I think could happen with a living soil. Also, the survivors bugs are few now so I reckon it's safe to let 'er ride.

from what i read it will not harm benificial fungi but i was using it with straight soil not living soil so it might possibly be different, sorry was not trying to mislead you

I don't think that! :green_heart:Thank you for a very good idea. It might work fine but I don't need it now as the bugs are mostly dead.

Hopefully she puts out another round. I doubt it from the trichomes but maybe....looks pretty good to me brown stigmas and all
Thank you Matt. Those colas look as though they have gained weight since yesterday which is hard to believe, but they are starting to flop.

I just went through to get a glass of water and there was a haze of false chinch bugs on the ceiling, walls and curtains. I think these things are migrating in. I don't have a screen and I need windows open in this heat.

I moved the plant out of the way and sprayed the ceiling, walls and curtains with DOOM. I sprayed lightly because I didn't want the mist to affect my plant.

I hand picked and squished a few off the plant and they squish green making me fume.

They are all over the plant again. What should I do?

The flowers still look great and the bug looks angry you killed his family!
Yesss!
I would definitely go to a hardware store and buy some screening, even if you have to tape it to the window frame. It's like you're growing outside in there.
Do I just leave the plant to carry on and ignore the bugs as best I can?

The door is a huge glass slider and it has a security slam lock gate on it. I need to get in and out so if I were to install a screen it would have to be done professionally. It aint gonna happen. I have to treat the plants as if they are being grown outdoors. Next run I will use prophylaxes as if I am gardening outdoors.

How long do you think I have on this plant? I'm wondering whether to try Beauveria Bassiana, which I have on hand. It takes a while to work though because the fungus needs to grow on the critters to kill them. That's why I ask how long do I want these to go on for?

Oh, I thought it was the window in the pics behind the plants! A sliding glass door would need a sliding screen door to go with it. :)

I don't think they will affect your harvest much at this stage as long as you can kill most of the ones that fly in.

That's your call: clear/cloudy/amber/drinking.

Yes, I keep the windows immediately behind the plants closed but the sliding door is the only other ventilation in the room. I have thin white curtains which act as a screen to a certain extent. I think these things were on the move, looking for shelter and loved the light. The plant is a bonus lol.

That's encouraging. It makes me squeamish though to think of bugs on my colas lol.

Oh are we at the trichome checking stage already?

plant looks great, have you tried bounce sheets/fabric drier sheets around the perimeter of your pot ? or citrenella candles sorry for the spelling eror

Your stigmas were mostly bright white before you sprayed but now you don't get the benefit of watching those turn color to guide you so you have to resort to other methods. Personally I'd track the water usage as my primary gage and as the water usage dropped off I'd focus on the trichomes. But I'd say you're a couple of weeks out at least.

It's a tiny bug, the size of a fungus gnat for sure. Not a larger bug.
This is why I bud wash!! No more dusty dirty bug shittiness on my flowers. I'm definitely not the best grower but since I've used my own herbs there was no looking back. I've always tried to keep learning stuff. Happy Thursday/Friday to you!! 😎✌️

Have a look at the trichomes and see what you think, post them here and folks will tell you what they think! Also, has drinking slowed down at all?
Today is a watering day so I will find out about the drinking.

I can try citronella. I don't know what bounce sheets / fabric drier sheets are.

That's what I thought. That leads me back to the question of how to keep these bugs under control for that long. I simply don't know. They are hard bodied.
