A New Top LED Panel for Testing

There is a problem right out of the box, it looks like it got banged around a bit during shipping, when I took it out of the box and flipped it over to look at the diodes I heard and felt something loose and rattling inside, when I plugged it in the fan is very quiet but when I put my ear right to it it sounds like the fan is pulsing, on closer inspection I can see the fan blades speeding up and slowing down. I think you need bigger stronger shipping boxes with more styrofoam Sara.

This is a sample light, I do not know how much it cost, but as I heard from factory, this light cost more.purchaser is on holiday, as soon as he back, I will ask him.

more information will be posted later.

NEW information about the light : each part has 30pcs 3w chip. but we just drive 50w per part, so the light we send to Jon is 200w totally. the reflector is about 90degree. so the coverage is 3x3feet is ok.

As to the package. the box we are using is the best one, we have suggested to factory. but they told me this is the strongest one. when we mass produce this light, we will customize box for this light. the one we send to Jon is not the final box.

Ok I have to chime in. Sara, I have been waiting for you and your company for over a year now! I have really wanted to get into growing and require LEDs to keep the cost of running and heat down. I have never been able to pull the trigger on other companies lights because I believe they are just too expensive for my needs. I am definitely following this grow closely now!

With that said I do have a question for Sara and Buck, I am new and looking to keep things small until I figure out if I can even accomplish a grow. For a first attempt I am going with a soil grow although I have dreams of hydroponics in the future. I know Buck you are using the 192x3w panel, I am thinking the 3w panels are definitely up my alley. I am curios if you can enlighten this newb some, I was thinking about starting small with the 96x3w panel. In a soil grow operation how many plants do you think can grow under that light from veg to flower in the same room? I am not one with a lot of money so the less I can spend the better, 100$ more for the 144x3w over the 96x3w is not a bad price and I am not complaining its just less feasible at the moment.

Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance and I am excited to watch this journal .

It is not about how many plants. It is growing space. In that space you can have 1 or lots of plants... there will still only be good bud in the the lights footprint. There is nothing wrong with starting small, in fact it has benefits. As you add lights 3 smaller panels is better than one of equal wattage. Why? because you can spread them out a little and get a bigger grow area. Get what you can to start and see how it goes. One small light might do you... it depends on your needs.

Thanks for the reply, I havent made the space yet I plan on doing that after I decide the light I am going to start with. I am looking to grow 2 or 3 plants at a time, I know they will get big and 3 may be to many for the smaller light? But I have been considering doing the LST method to keep them shorter and bushy and hopefully get more off a smaller light source. Think I am barking up the wrong tree?

Not sure what big is to you. I plan to only bring one plant to bud under the panel I have.

Really? See I am way off base here lol. Back to the drawing board

maybe not... I could start all 5 seedlings 12/12 right now and though they would crowd I could bring them all to bud... but again there will only be bud where there is light.

I know it is too soon for a final report on the LED light you got from TOPLED , but do you have some insight on your current opinion of them? I ask because I dont know that I can wait for the end of your grow before I buy my lights.
