A Mar-sian Darkness Falls In Otterville

Whew, good morning. I was pondering watering this morning as I gazed into the Mars tent. I'm putting one or two of them on drought after the next watering to see if it will generate more or beef up trichomes. @Maritimer has been studying this and it looks good to me for a try. I'll note the test when it happens. If you want to get a head start Maritimer's journal is Exceptionally High FECO Yields.

Watering a photo and watering an auto is two different things. The photo's I can fill pots up with roots and move on to the next. Roots being the focus of my attention and the payoff of having a pot thick with roots ready to feed a happy fruitful plant. Time and effort = a big payout.

Autos are a whole other game. A seed makes it to the surface of a huge pot. Circles of water make rings around the stem. Too much and too little is a thing here and every day is a wonder. It's a fine line watering autos. I want them too grow with the vitality that's available to them but I never really know how much water to give them in the start. I get it done, but not like a photo where I can fill the small cup, let it dry, repeat. It's like a problem I almost solve but don't every time until they get to the point of watering the whole pot. I'm going to be growing more autos in the Mars tent so I better embrace the technique.

Photo or auto, both need to grow with no bugs and full bore! Let's see if I can stay in the lanes and keep these tents full.

Highya SO,

I grew some autos last year, and felt the same as you described. My ladies do well in my garden soil, but autos didn't get any bigger in soil, so I have decided not to do autos anymore. Love the size of my ladies outdoors in the ground. Cheers

Hey Bode good morning. I read autos don't always fare that well outdoors. Too bad, I was thinking of next summer with them. Maybe a super auto. I have to read more before I decide. I don't know. An indica will go 50 days and that's plenty good for us here. Thoughts for later.

I don't like the idea of zero forgiveness to even try an auto, lol. I can't see the value of growing autos unless running 2 grow spaces is not possible, but I've always been fortunate enough to have a dedicated veg space.

I understand. Low final weights can get in the way. I'm having a buzz thinking every 3 months I can try a 3 x 3 tent load of something new. I have to negotiate a place for the third temporary tent now. That's not going to be an easy one.

BroStone,
yo brother from another mother is back in trim jail. :) and thinking of that song that says
"I've got blisters on my fingers"

you are not sounding happy with your auto action?
have a peek at the farside thread on his faux medium.
he has centerfold quality picture of 3 auto chicks in a tent.
it will make you want to go camping :bongrip:

Hi Maritimer. I'm extremely happy with them. I have a part of me that fights the way I have to keep them is all. Farside is killing I've seen. It's an apples, oranges thing almost. Edit: Funny that song comes to mind more often than you might think.

I Love me some Beatles and Helter Skelter is one of my favorite songs by them. Your coming down fast but I'm miles above you
:high-five:

I'm with you on this. I don't see the winnings in doing this inside, why put more electricity in something that doesn't seriously improve yields just speeds up the cycle. But outside I'm very positive in using auto flowering plants, otherwise I would be harvesting ice buds in late October here. :laughtwo:

And I thought hole Otterville was filled with tents by now already... :D
Haha I live with Ms Otter and there will always be conflict and resolution hopefully. She's a good one and I want for little and need nothing. I still never know though. I know right. Had to take down a brand new 2 x 4 for the 3 x 3. I love my life.
