A Mar-sian Darkness Falls In Otterville

I’m not sure how valid this method is, but if one averages the measurements for the 24” square and the 42” square, one might estimate the average PPFD in the area between them. For example,

5823/16 = 364

For the average DLI in this area:

364 x 3600/1,000,000 = 1.31/hr

1.31 x 18 hrs = an avg DLI of 23
Sounds right.

For the output of the PPFD which is for flowering, as I mentioned before, at 500~600, the plants will flower, and during 800~1000, they will flower the best, and data over 1000 or higher actually makes very little difference to plants. That is why no need too powerful ppfd.
for our light output an example.

When I hang the light at 16'' or 18'', the 4x4 cornor is around 600ppfd, and the center is around 1000, and the inside area 3x3 is around 800.
But when I hang the light at 12'', the side 4x4 ppfd might be 400~500, the center is around 1500, but the 3x3 area might increase to 1000.
Which means, you can hang the light heigher, and you can also flower, and get good result, while if you hang lower, you will get a little better results but also a little less coverage too.
This is only an example showing what I mean on our TS or SP series, not exact right data for reference on the specific light. :Namaste:

But otter is at less than 12" and the PPFD readings are for 18". So his DLI would be higher than 23 for an 18 hour veg timing. And I'm not sure where you got the 5823 number. As your math teacher might say, "show your work Felipe!"

Also, I still love the look of your cherry wood floors!

Geez Shed - no need to crush my nads. It was just an example - not necessarily exactly what Otter has going.

As far as the math, going clockwise from the upper left corner:

24” - 344+510+412+600+412+583+387+566
= 3814

42” - 187+332+192+325+191+325+180+277

= 2009

3814+2009 = 5823

And thanks for the compliment - they’re Santos Mahogany.

This is were one needs to supplement Co2 if to get any more winnings in adding more PPFD right?

Watering time brought these pics. Water was yesterday/pics today. The pistols are slowing down on them now. 2 very much an 2 not so much. Trichomes are mostly clear with some milky on all 4. Day 56 on pic day.
They're getting a teaspoon of recharge and 25ml of Terpinator every other watering. Terpinator used in the off microbe watering.
They're getting a frost on them. I couldn't stop taking pics sorry.

Highya SO,

Very pretty! Very nice looking autos!! I hope they smoke as good as they look!! Cheers

Well now, vaped some lemon og candy with Ms Otter and now have a delish citrus taste in the back of my mouth and tongue that is just dandy! Yum! And thought provoking! I have some Terpinator to use and on the site I found the suggestion that its good for only so long. Especially after we open the container. Here's what I copied from their site. I have to figure this out. I don't want to waste it by letting it rot. I'll have to grow hard for a while!:meatballs:
