A Mar-sian Darkness Falls In Otterville

Good morning everyone. Today is a good day...now that the flood is mostly cleaned up. Yesterday while I watered I replenish the ro as I use it. It's very slow to do that, thankfully! I forgot to shut it off before the day was over hence the small flood. Thank Jah it makes ro water painfully slow and I think only a few gallons went on the floor. Sooooo now the Mars tent is empty, elevated, and being blown under by fans. Mold prevention. Also the dehummur is on constantly for a while. Fortunately there's room at the inn in the 4 x 4 and the light is on the same schedule. Maybe tomorrow it'll be dry enough to return to nermal. Up potting is scheduled for today
I have to say I'm very distracted this week by a death in the family. My daughters future mother in law passed on and I have been sad. She was one of the finest energys you'd ever meet, having a heart full of love and fun that touched me deeply. Me and everyone that knew her. My daughter is lucky to have been like a daughter to Kathy. I have felt the woman in her as they got to know each other over the years and am proud of her own selfness, if you know what I mean, that she has become. A mix of mothers if you will in addition to tweaking for improvements. Anyway, I don't want or need to say much more I think, just a weird week to grind out and survive.

Sorry to hear of the passing of your future in laws. The great thing about great souls is that they never really leave, just the body that embodied them passes, but I presume that Kathy passed on her goodness to her son who shall marry your daughter and in their love, resurrect Kathy by the goodness they do together and if they make you a grand pappy, they can instill that same goodness into the new one.

Long story short, good people make good people!

You have that right Sky! It's already done I've watched Kathy's loving and fun ways naturally transfer into my Baby Otter over the past few years. Just a beautiful thing seeing the blend of us and them I guess. Oh well, on to the next thing for us all!

Well said, SB

Yesterday I watered these ladies and put two of them to test. I'm watching @Maritimer do many futuristic things and this one I can do...almost. it's a drought test and we'll be looking for a leaf to go limp to 50 degrees. On these it'll bring them to just below horizontal before they get water or 10 days. During this time trichomes might grow to incredible length. Right that's the point. To amplify the trichs so we need a closeup to tell between a bud and a snowball. Or any improvement at all. Here's the first day. The tape has the stem above being watched.
And starting trich pics.

brostone,
having some looks at your girls and wondering a bit
seen this before, something askew but probably not nutes
Sky would have picked up on that first anyhow.
not happy, not dancing, but probably talking at us.
thinking...trying to remember
rootersville issues?
floral mass reminds us of "several small furry animals gathered together in a cave..." PF
Like GT says "I'd hit that"
LWA turgid state looks shallow

I have no idea why it's been so long since I've been here but I'm all caught up! Sorry to hear about the passing of a great light source in your family's universe. The living should always try to embody the best of the dead.

I'm looking forward to seeing the leaf angles decline on the DDA, and to see how many days before you need to resuscitate it. I tried the experiment this summer, but with the fluffy quality of ProMix HP the plants didn't last long enough in drought to show any positive outcomes before I had to water them.

I'm still very proud of my achievement with her. She yielded somewhere around 40g I think.
That plant was so leafy! Imagine what you could have hauled in with one with a better leaf/calyx ratio :).

Ignoring my outliers in both directions, I average 51g/auto, and I'm not happy about that. On a gram/day average it's much lower than the photos, which is why I don't see the benefit, even if they're faster. Outside of course.

brostone,
I think I remember pictures on old computer downstairs. I will confirm in am. Have you been sticking your things in the medium anywhere near your root bundle? Moisture gauges, chop sticks, tomato cages, long fingers ect. I remember eagle talons being presented and post harvest forensic examination of the underside revealed damage to the main tap root stem. I'm not sure what that root is actually called hint, hint. I know you got that book I want.

My friend, I hope the wind fills your family sails full, and carries you all towards serenity.
Perhaps now is not the best of times for you to complicate your garden?
Your rejuvenation and fitness are paramount.

Yeah... but this is another proof I'm not good with autos. But I guess I never gave her much chance either, I totally fucked up her day cycle at least once. Guess I'm glad she never turned out to be a hermie.

And here is were it gets strange... You say 51g/auto and I averaged about 70-80g on my photo clones last year. These plants generate more weight with less light but over a few days more instead. I'm not in any way against Autos as I said before I just want to understand why you prefer Autos. :)

@stoneotter sorry to hear about the passing in your family. Never a fun thing to get through, luckily the last in my family seems to be hard as oak but one never knows when or were it hits.
just a weird week to grind out and survive
You got Ms Otter and your babies in the tents, you will be fine but its hard to believe now.

Now go eat that turkey you are all talking about... :)

She's been freaky to look at, all talons. Bode and I thought she might be needing a sweeter soil experience so I've been bubbling some dolomite limestone for watering after 2 waterings with a tsp of ground limestone. The action came after all the main leaves were grown so only sugar leaves were left to grow. I think it helped. I'm interested in anything you saw as this has been a problem I'm not sure got fixed totally. I don't understand how the one plant could have such different needs than the three with good growth signs living under the same conditions.

No, nothing goes into the soil.

Good

Morning Everyone!

Thank you all for being a growing part of my life. Hehe see what I did there? I do like this day as I believe "appreciation" of life is the only reason to hang around and that's just another word for "thanks". So here we are. I wish you all well and hope you're feeling hugged and loved to the max today!
