A Good Old Fashioned RedHotChiliPepper Grow Off

Somebody say tomatoes ??? I have downsized in the last week in the veggie garden, in anticipation of a F in HUGE harvest season... However after harvesting out my radishes, carrots, scallions, and Herbs I still have 5 of the OG8 tomato plants just putting out like crazy.. Two jalapeno, One GPepper, and One Ghost Pepper are still crazy putting out.. Downsizing again next week so I figured I better get in a few photos before they are all outta here.. Cannabis is the only important thing that is in the Garden now 5 to 7 weeks to Harvest MMMMMMMMM Heres some pics.

Ok this year as with most means Harvesting... Mine is also Garden related.. My " community " buddies all have GH's and Small farms so we all grow what we can and help each other out through trade and barter... With this every year we all throw some money into some Jars for veggies and the like... Mostly we recycle via Garage sales and the like... Anyway this year it is my turn to can the following
.. Corn fresh off the Cob...
.. Green Beans fresh outta my Garden mostly
.. Tomatoes in Salsa,Spag Sauce,Chile and etc...
.. Pickles both Sweet and Dill Garlic Rosemary
... Hot Peppers including Japs,Tobasco, and Ghost
.. Freeze like 30 lbs of GPeppers as well...

..... Today is Corn day.. This is the last of the season fresh for us.... Got some Nirvana, and Pristine strains Frozen already, now to can like 24 quarts fresh corn.... Yesterday 220 lbs of corn on the cob of different varieties were delivered to my house... My buddy " BOB " just smiled as he offered up some samples of our grow/harvest from his house.. Didn't do much to soften the blow, but was tasty.. LOL .... Here are some prep pics

....Now multiply that by 5, and you will see how much I am into this one... LOL... But also from this I got the most pristine Leaves for cobbing this fall... They will also be used for my favorite Mexican food, Tamales... Yummmmm and as a side note Sweet Corn Husks are the absolute best for tamales, and cobs I would assume for the sugar content.... I will show a couple of pics of this process, but will be doing a report/full Update on how to cure leaves for storage till fall on My Thread later...... Should be fun on that....

Like the summer, mi jardin is winding down...but another salsa harvest w/ homegrown peruvian yellow, jalep, poblano, havasu y anaheim peps y ajo y tomate
Also grew the tallest sunflowers I've ever raised...they're about 14 feet tall...a kinda crappy photo, but there here...for scale, the cannabis which is barely peeking out at the base of the sunflowers is about 3.5 feet tall

Beautiful flowers - I love sunflowers:thumb:

I like 'em too, but my wife loves 'em.

Only thing I don't like about 'em is that every year the seeds have high mortality due to the X*&%ing squirrels. There's just too many of those fluffy-tailed rats here. Wish we had an owl and a pine marten!
