A Four Strain Barney’s Farm Grow

I’m getting worried about our grow lol. After my embarrassing effort with Carcass, I’m nervous. So it’s just going to be two friends growing the same strain, no expectation. My set up isn’t fancy and my light isn’t fancy. I’ll totes follow your direction (when I say totes I mean unless I hate it lol) but I might have to veg a little longer.

Have we set a date? End of Feb works for me.

I’m a drongo which means my confidence always outweighs my ability.

There is nothing to worry about. With a little confidence we can do anything. It might be hard duplicating that Tropicana Banana Bud tree but It will be fun trying!

Other than the Tropicana Banana I am waiting to hear what seeds I will be growing. As long as the other beans are here I can start. Should know more this week.
The weather has warmed up. It'll be over 12c this week so I'll mix and make the soil.

Me too Trala I'm so looking forward to starting our grow. Its was nice having down time but i'm ready now. The tent has been empty for a month. Are you up for a straight up grow without topping? If not, I can top a little. I hear good stuff about the Tropicana Banana.

I've been procrastinating. Today I cleaned the tent, fans, filters, & everything else , and then setup the new lights and controller. I feel like a kid in a candy shop. I love new tools and toys. Lights qualify. Included were a couple 100w light bars. I think i'm going to start and grow the seedlings under them for a bit. There are also 2 new supplemental 30w LED, UV fixtures. These I hung between the bars of the main light. The controller will allow for independent UV scheduling. I'm looking now for info on how best to incorporate the UV into a grow. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Hi greenvein! The UV will be an experimental endeavor for me at best. If I were you I wouldn't go off my results. Look to someone that has successfully implemented these UV/UVB wavelengths in some grows. If you find anyone, please let me know.
It appears UV could be the ultimate in high stress training.

The light looks cool on alone, like a modern LED, blacklight. There are plenty of warnings about skin and/or eye exposure.

The grow break was good, its been hard motivating myself again. Testing the results of the hash making and the cure on the last harvest has kept me busy.
I'm looking forward to collaborating with Trala. Other than the joint grow, I'll be growing some older genetics to test the new gear. Next up - Amnesia Lemon, G13 Haze, Pineapple Chunk and the newer Tropicana Banana.

If you want, we can just go & grow straight up and only remove a couple nodes early on. No carhooks or anything else. See what they do naturally? Whatever you want to do is good with me.

After a month down I'm ready to grow again and play with some new gear. The new light is a tight fit in the tent. Its 15 less watts but the physical size and footprint is larger.

I still get intimidated with anything new. It took me a few days of trying out some of the features of the new 2 zone controller before successfully setting it up. It does some cool stuff. In addition to having multiple on/off settings over 24 hrs, it also has on/off or dimming protocols for the lights to help deal with heat. Another cool thing is the sunrise and sunset feature allowing the incremental increase or decrease in intensity over an adjustable, set period of time. I have seen a few brands of controllers and they all appear to do the same thing. Good stuff.

Anything new is a worry lol but am sure youll warm to all the new techy stuff just need more time to learn but youll do it

Really, don't be nervous. There is no way you can let me down. I'm tickled you asked to grow a plant together.
In hindsight, two of each strain would have been better.. next time!

I used to love topping, bending and cracking the plants stems, they respond to the stresses great. Still do! The topping and bending can greatly increase yield. Now I grow straight up as i'm squeezing multiple plants and strains into a small space each grow. Growing straight up is probably the most simple way, it can also more clearly show what the plants can do. It might be easier to observe what they want. With a short veg the yields can also be quite good. There is some degree of training or control that can be achieved using the lights height and/or strength.
