A Four Strain Barney’s Farm Grow

This morning the Blue Gelato 41 was taken down and boxed up to dry a bit more before jarring. It has been hanging for 5 days now. Its been an odd plant since the beginning. At flip it threw a few male flowers that were shaved off. Then it stretched taller than the rest and needed to be tied back, LST. Since no more male parts showed it was grown out and went over 100 days in flower. It turned out to be a very sativa dominant phenotype. It is in the genetics, she dug deep. When chopped she was still throwing white pistils and probably could have gone a few weeks more. At first the trichomes didn't show very well to the naked eye but now that its dried some they show better. The buds are big sticky and full. The gold sucked out sugars was an odd occurrence but it doesn't seem to have hurt anything.

I love good sativa :yummy: and am glad things went the way they did. Its not something I would have planned because sativa's take so much more time than the hybrids to grow out. I'll get the final grow No.'s up after this last Gelato is jarred up.

Happy grows :peace:

Wow. That BG41 really took you for a ride Stinker!

Glad it turned out well. :Rasta:

Hi HashGirl , I envy your enthusiasm. That would be hard for me to manage. Eventually harvesting 4 plants a month with a 60 day veg. Those could be large! :thumb:

I don't believe they'll be that huge. All of the plants I'm planning on flipping next week are less than 10" tall. "They" say that your plants can double in size. That's still less than 2 feet so I think it will be much more manageable than the ones I've grown so far, which have been 3 months or more of veg.

Have you started your perpetual grow? Can you tag me in please.:thanks:

I haven't started it yet. I'm planning on starting it on January 1, 2023. I will try to remember to tag you.

Good morning, today started with a taste and then a check on the cure of the Kush Mintz. It needs awhile yet. :yummy:

Later this week I'll get some more pics up of the various strains with dry bud pics and final No.'s. This was a good grow. The yield will be over 2.5z per on average. Better than anticipated and not bad for no topping or training. I'm going to do the same again. No training, short veg.

I really want a rosin press and have held off on getting one as I have yet to even try rosin. I am sure I will like it but want to try it and see it pressed first. :cheesygrinsmiley: Its time to squish some bud. In November, I plan to go to the cannafest in Prague. Maybe I can get a demo?

Thanks for checking in. :peace:

Its day 5 for the new sprouts. This morning they needed to be watered to runoff so I could treat for fungus gnats. Its a few days earlier than I like to give so much water but the gnats wouldn't wait. Its much easier treating for them in the smaller starter pots than the final grow bags. I treat with Bti - Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis - It works for me.

How many of those will you keep la Rue?
9 - 3 across and 3 deep in a 1m x 1m
I started 4 of each and will keep 2 of each + 1- S1, MxOP again.
Barney's Farm want to show the viability. It makes sense.
I hate waste.
Hey Stinker, you're doing great with the garden, that BG41 should give you a nice smoke. Looking forward to checking in more regularly, all the best!
Hi Stunger, the BG41 is a nice change. I love the smell of Sativa in the morning.
Thanks for checking in. Been looking forward to your stealth balcony grow. Cheers

Looks like OG Cornflake. Didn't know that was a Barney's Farm strain! Ha ha. (It's a joke)

Lately every new grow feels challenging to start. Its mostly the 100 + day commitment. It takes a bit of work. :headbanger:
Here we go again. Does anyone else feel this way? Its probably less so with multiple tents.
I never feel that way when starting my annual outdoor grows, which are also a lot of work but always different. I can see how indoor growers can get tired of one grow after another, every few months, even in winter. It could get to be kind of a grind (seemingly repetitive, "oh no, one grow done - time to start another" routine). Forgive me if that is not true, it just occurred to me that there could be this psychological downside to indoor growing, so it's not all euphoria all the time!:)

@Stunger - You'll be starting your outdoor grow again soon, right? I'm hoping to follow along this year.

Me too.

Barney’s need to trust their products. In my experience every single Barney’s seed I’ve woken has had the potential to be a star. The only thing stopping it was me and my stupid grow debacles. Lol

Yep indeedy HG, I have some seedlings hardening off at the moment, they should be in their final pots by next week, then all going well I'll kick off a new journal, cheers.

Growing is exciting, and I love the process. It isn't a grind or repetitive. Each grow is a new experience.
Lately I struggle with the commitment side of the grow. A run for me is calculated at 100 days. During a run I am not able to leave for more than a day or two at a time. This last run was extended by weeks with the long running sativa dominant. Running long necessitated the cancellation of travel plans. Now I am planning a long weekend away in early November and I need to make sure the plants will be cared for if needed.

We are all waiting with baited breath. :cough:

Agreed! This last time was the first time in a long time that I had a germinated bean fail. It does happen. Lately I start 4 of the 10 they send and keep 2 of the 4 started. That just leaves more to share. They wanted me to germinate 10 of 10 for the results but I couldn't do that. It still bothers me when I trash a starter.:rip:

That sounds nice and safe to me. This run, with the multiple starts I noticed how much i exposed myself if I were to fail. Its all good.
looking forward to following another of your outdoor adventures. Cheers

:pWhich is correct bated breath or baited breath?

As an adjective, baited means “loaded with bait to lure an animal.” It is also the past tense of “bait,” which can mean either “use a lure” or “taunt.” Bated means “in an anxious or excited way.” In modern English, this word only commonly appears in the phrase bated breath.

Apparently I used it wrong. Live and Learn - Cool

Is it Bated Breath or Baited Breath?

The correct form of the English expression is bated breath. The dictionary defines this idiom as a nervous or excited state anticipating what will happen.
If you’re excited about something, it means you cannot bate your enthusiasm.

I just confirmed I'll be attending Cannafest in Prague. "The International Fair of Cannabis and Medicinal Herbs"
It runs from November 4 to 6 and is billed as the largest trade show of its kind in the world. It'll be nice to hang out with some of the team from @Barney's Farm , meet some people in the business and see all of the new stuff. :peace:

Its a long way to go for a rosin press. Maybe I can get a demonstration.
