A Four Strain Barney’s Farm Grow

Good morning. :ganjamon:

Here are some updated pics of the Blue Gelato 41. The buds are still swelling, she is really taking her time to shut down. The dry, gold tips are deceiving as she has continued to build tight buds. I'm ready now to have her finish up.
Today is day 86 of 12/12 and It looks like there will still be another good week to go. It actually looks like it did on Monday.
I smoked a taster from a few days ago this morning, its potent now :yummy: I'm getting anxious to start a Christmas bud run. :peace:

Good Day
The Blue Gelato 41 is still growing, she looks a bit rough but is still pushing out white pistils. Its day 93 of 12/12.
The buds are squaring up and full now. I'm starting to see more broken trichomes. Regardless of the pistil color, I will only give it a couple more days before pulling from the tent and letting it finish in the dark.

Happy grows :peace:

Good morning! :ganjamon: ,

Its day 98 of 12/12 today and the Blue Gelato 41 is still going. The buds have swelled up nicely over the last week. Its definitely a sativa strong pheno. Its also a pity that so many of the sugar leaves turned and dried. They are not burned - they are golden! :cheesygrinsmiley: The tester buds have been very strong and sativa like. Tonight will probably be the last night under the light. Maybe 1 more then a few more days in the dark.

Today I plan on prepping the starter pots and germinating for the next round. The next will be another 4 strain Barney's grow. 2 no name testers, a Sativa and an Indica strong. There is also Banana Punch and the Gelato #45. I've been wanting to try the Gelato 45 for awhile now.

It feels like I'm pushing it moving on the next round so soon, but I want to complete it around the 1st of the year if I can. Will need to see what happens, there is another sativa strong in the mix again.

Happy grows :peace:

Hi stinker, Blue Gelato 41 is said to be a 60% "mostly indica" strain but it has some Thai, Lemon Thai, Durban Poison, and Purple Thai in the mix. How many BG41 seeds did you pop? Were there other phenos?

Good to hear from you buddy cant beleev shes still going man shes a real stayer. Ive heard good things about the Banana punch too.
Hey buddy, thanks. I took her out today and will keep in the dark for a few more days. She could have gone another week but I've been saying that for awhile now. You must be enjoying that Blue Sunset Sherbert. Great job!

Hi la Rue :)

I love watching you make those Barney’s Farm seeds absolutely sing!

She is a beauty!
Hi Tra Lalala :)

Your too kind. :thanks: This one looks rough.
After the new year we should grow two together.

Hi Emeraldo, This BG41 definitely found some sativa genes for this showing. There was another that hermed. It was the 1st full on hermaphrodite I've ever had. Had plenty nanners in the past. I think I discarded another BG before the up-pot. Usually I plan an extra or two.

Looking forward to seeing your Haze harvest :)

This grow is about over now. Just need to give the Gelato 41 a few days in the dark. Its been a busy morning. i cleaned the tent and set up for the next.

I appreciate everyone's following along. Happy grows :peace:

Its a relief having the Blue Gelato 41 out of the tent. It was looking like it could/would go on forever.

Friday I started prepping for the new run. I made up the new seedling soil, labeled the starter pots and and brought everything inside to acclimate. In the late afternoon I put up the new seeds to germinate - four of each strain, a Banana Punch, Gelato #45 and some new Indica and Sativa that are nameless. Of the 16 seeds, 15 cracked and had tails at under 40 hours. All were put in the starter pots, the un-cracked bean was also planted and labeled for reference. It might just pop. I also added another two S1 Mimosa x's again. It is a favorite of mine. The last S1 was a beauty!

So, the plan for the next is the 2 best of the new beans, and the best of the 2 MxOP's for a total of 9.

Its been a busy morning. Hope everyone has a nice Sunday.

Thanks man and yes I get a hint of berry and sometimes like a candy taste with some of them a good mixture really. Turned out better than i thought

Looking forward to your newest adventure:)

I’m not gonna lie tho, only taking the strongest seedlings makes me clutch my pearls! Every Barney’s seed deserves the opportunity to sing for you. Well I think they do loll.

I literally always strike one seed at a time. My seeds are so so precious to me.

Thank you, GDB. She flowered a long time
I was waiting on this BG41. Originally, I had hoped to complete the next by Christmas. That wont happen now. :Rasta:

By golly you grow some stunning ladies mate. Just picture perfect. Never uninspiring dropping in here for a look.

:thanks: DV8.

Glad to have you along Tra..., I struggle with the whole germinating and starting more than I need thing. The real hard part for me is trashing the healthy 14 / 16 day old seedlings when its time to uppot. Its difficult for me to see the advantage to choosing the best and culling the rest. They rarely show what they are or could be prior to flipping. I only cull as Barney's want to know and show the viability of the strains I am working with.

At this point I get more beans than I can use and can always use a striker down under. :)
----------

This morning a few of the starts were showing their heads. The 1 bean that hadn't cracked yesterday has more than cracked today. The bean was sitting on top of the damp soil with a fat short tail when I woke up today. It worked its way up! I poked a little hole in the soil and dropped it back in. 18/18 germinated - 100%.

Its been a little over 1.5 years since I started indoor growing and this is the start of the 6th grow. Good stuff. Having the variety is nice. :peace:
