Absolutely mon ami. Life is sweet. Happy Thanksgiving to you. A banner year to celebrate. :hugs:

Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

I'm thankful just to still be here and to have a brighter future thanks to all the caring support here.

And I'm thankful for White Widow for when my needs aren't strictly medicinal. :)

And a lot of other things. Wish the same for everyone out there. :Namaste:

I originally posted this in Sue's thread and was informed this was the best place to post so I've copied the original to here. I've read the first 15 or so pages along with the tacking and making CCO threads as well. So here goes...

Hi All,

I'm hoping for a little guidance on the best way to administer RSO/CCO to treat my girlfriend's ovarian cancer (previiusly stage 3) that has metastasized to her colon and outer stomach lining. This is her last ditch effort to survive. Here's where we are at this point.

She is 37 years young and was diagnosed 3 years ago. After 2 rounds of chemo and a full hysterectomy she was cancer free for about 9 months. It returned after those 9 months to her intestines and the outer lining of her stomach. I took her to the ER on thanksgiving eve because she has been having stomach issues. She had 2 blockages in the colon from the cancer. They did surgery immediately and detached the lower intestine and connected the upper to an ostemy bag which they haven't decided will be permanent or not. They couldn't re-attach 2 sections of the intestines as the cancer has spread throughout with tumors as large as golf balls. The doctors discussed the possibility of more chemo, but the cycle she just completed has done nothing. They are giving her anywhere from weeks to months before this disease takes her. We live in a legal MMJ state and have our cards so I brought up questions regarding using RSO as a possible treatment. The doctors didn't have much of an opinion other than saying it has worked in some cases and is being studied.

So my questions here are:

1. Would suppository be the best method for administering the RSO given her circumstances and lack of time?
2. If yes, should this be mixed with coconut oil/lecithin for bioavailability?
3. Will eating doses of canna coconut oil ( I make it very strong) help as well?
4. I made a batch of RSO previously. First decarbed, then made with ISO in the magic butter machine and slow boiled off at 220-240 degrees using double boiler method. I just sampled a large dose of the small amount I made and it had no "high" effect on me. I took approx 2 grains of rice sized dose and swallowed instead of tacking it. It had zero effect on me which is making me think it was over heated and lost the thc,cdb effects. I will make another batch following the original RSO method and toss this out. Thoughts?

This is our last ditch effort to save her life. I'm spending most of my time at the hospital with her, so I don't have the time to search/read through these entire threads at this point.

I could really use some guidance on the best way to attack this cancer as quickly as possible. She is finally on board with whatever method works best. I'd really like to have a detailed plan of attack when we meet with her oncologist team on Monday. Since they don't seem well informed to using cannabis as treatment beyond pain management I plan to provide as much scientific detail as possible.

Thank you all in advance. I'll be checking back later.

Welcome. First let me say that there are many people here more knowledgeable then me. But let me give you my $.02.

I LOVE my MB2 but not for making CCO. I use for Coconut oil all the time. Use the method in the Making CCO thread that Moto and Cajun came up with. It is the best way for those of us without expensive lab equipment to make quality CCO.

As for dosing, I will defer to the more experienced cancer fighters. I am sure they will chime in soon. :circle-of-love::peace:

I'm glad you posted here Litmus. Let's see what comes about. You're in good hands here. :hugs:

I forgot to mention she has issues swallowing pills...even small capsules. I'll need a workaround for that. I've read so much here in the last 24 hours my brain is on overload. Hopefully Cajuncelt will be around to chime in soon with some recommendations. Unless I can find some RSO I will have to wait a few weeks until I harvest or harvest some early and get started while the rest remains in flower. I'll have an indica (Herijuana IBL), a Sativa (Sugar Punch), and a hybrid (Madberry) at my disposal soon enough all of which should be over 20%THC...unsure of cbd but they should be great for CO.

cajuncelt will be here.

have you "figured" out a strain good for the condition?
RSO, if you find good quality, make sure it labels strain and thc/cbd etc ratios.
I can not answer your questions, I am sorry.

Have you read about making canna oil/ tinctures /edibles which might be handy too since capsules might be difficult for her to swallow.

Thanks Angry Bird! I will be getting all 3 of the strains I have growing tested at a local lab. These are all from seed. I'm not sure which, if any, of these will be best for her condition. At least I have variety on my side and they are all potent strains.

I've been making edibles and canna oil for the last year with great success. So that will be good for us too.

my father was diagnosed with lung cancer and brain cancer, he refuses to smoke, only edibles but i cant get any here in australia, please someone help

Hello bihoutlaw, so sorry to hear of that challenge in your life. Are you saying you have access to cannabis, but no access to edibles?

Cajun's in the middle of opening up his clinic, and I expect he'll be otherwise engaged until that happens. You still have many options for administration. Taking capsules out of the equation shouldn't be a problem. She has no problem with other forms of edibles?

She's only had tiny doses of edible a couple times, but didn't mind them. I don't think she's gotten a high enough dose to know what the euphoria feels like. She's also never smoked a joint...grew up straight edge and believing the propaganda. Getting her this far has taken some time. She says she'll be fine with edibles.

It will take her up to 6 weeks to heal before beginning any treatments so I'm sure we have time to wait to hear from Cajun. That's fantastic new regarding his clinic. I already have plans to donate RSO every harvest once have have perfected making it. The people in this community are truly amazing and I want to pay it forward once I'm capable as well!

There's a thread on dosing that you'll find a link to in my signature that I'd recommend you read. As a new patient to cannabinoid therapies there are protocols that it will benefit you to follow when you begin to build her tolerances. In particular, there's a moment of awareness you're watching for, and when you find it you want to hold her at that dose for three days as her Endocannabinoid system acclimates to the phytocannabinoids. As always, start at a sub-therapeutic dose and raise it slowly.

The making and sharing of oil can easily grow into an obsession. I'd bet every one of us has been in danger of overreaching. Personally, I'm in a slight danger of running out of my daughter's oil because I shared some with someone else.

Now, rest assured, I have no concern about running out, because I expect life to progress more smoothly than that and something will work out, but it brought me up short and made me sit down and have a talking with myself about priorities. She has to be my priority, and everyone else must be in line behind her. Planning a medicinal grow and having it run as smoothly as you'd hope can sometimes be disparate points. Flexibility is my new watchword.

Get really good at it Litmus. There's an unending need for the meds and nothing is more rewarding than helping someone find healing.

Update on my treatment and a little good news from my scan today. :circle-of-love:

The remaining tumors in my lungs were very small after my chemo 9 months ago, so main concern has been that would start growing again. Largest one was about 2 mm, one was 1mm and rest were too small too see but we know they are there.

Last scan just before I started oil suppositories the larger one was same size but more solid.

Today's scan report: all nodes under observation same to better. Same as in the invisible ones are still invisible (probably a core still there, but not growing back). Better as in largest one is back to soft and cloudy looking, not looking at all like it's about to take off again. I can't say for sure that cannabis is the reason. I was hoping that it had shrunk to invisible but half expecting this to be the scan that starts chemo talk again. So a very good outcome.

I'm halfway to gram/day goal. Increasing very slowly because I do feel the effects while I'm sitting at work. I'm an accountant so I sit a lot. I don't feel euphoria, but thinking gets a little cloudy sometimes. As soon as I stand up and move it clears but returns almost as soon as I sit back down. Learning to work with it. Taking it slowly. Relieved after today's scan than I can keep going slowly.
:Namaste:

Hello everyone, I have just begun to read this thread and naturally jumped ahead prematurely. Reason being I just want to share this, last week I heard a new research showed siliciban (silly) mushrooms used once had unexpected results. Patients anxieties were relieved significantly for up to 6 months after single therapy session and may be of help. Might have been on CNN or news. God bless

Thank you for sharing that walleye. Up to six months.... Impressive. I'll have to look into this.
