Maine passed rec laws. A step in the right direction.?

To me it just looks like she has used up all of the nitrogen and the leaves are starting to die off. Have you slowed down the nitrogen intake? On our autos we stop the "veg nutes" about halfway through bloom and get the leaf fade with about 2 weeks left. It's nothing to be alarmed about.
Hi J
Hi Jacobsenji,
I tried to pm you but can't yet (need 50 posts). I live in the Rockland area. I haven't been to Moosehead since I was a kid. Beautiful and BIG up there!!
Glad the rec law passed ( still doing a recount). I do wonder how they'll interpret laws for rec use. Will be interesting.
You seem pretty busy with growing and cooking. I like your energy level! Happy Growing!
"How To Reverse Sex Using Silver Thiosulfate Solution
The following is a safe, inexpensive, and successful method for reversing the sex of female cannabis plants. Individual plant responses may vary based upon strain, but I can verify that this process is fully effective in stimulating profuse staminate flower production..."
Interesting reading. The use of chemical processes to alter the sex of plants is a very fascinating discipline...I remember using a solution of Colchicine to treat some seeds and some rooting clones, back in the day. It's rather dangerous stuff, it produced a couple plants that were freaks, much bigger and definitely more potent than the rest, but mostly it killed everything, including, somehow, the cat. :-(
I have never tried Colloidal silver to change the sex of a plant, however, if you want to produce some feminized seeds there's a much easier way.
I have done this twice and it worked great both times. About 2 weeks after the flip to 12/12, when floral clusters are just beginning to appear everywhere, take a small black plastic bag (COMPLETELY opaque...I always doubled it to make absolutely sure) and put it over about a foot of the end of one nice healthy branch. I put a small electric light in there, taped to the inside of the bag, the kind you put in a pumpkin instead of a candle. These lights have a little switch you can feel and operate easily through the plastic bag, to turn it on and off without having to open the bag. Then tape the bag around the stem carefully so no light can escape. For the next 10 days you just randomly enter the grow room during the dark period and switch on the little light inside the bag, for about 30 minutes, I do it every other night. This works just the same as a growroom light leak and results in a few male flowers appearing on that branch. Obviously it's tricky to go in your grow room during the dark period without screwing up the entire grow, you have to prepare things so that is possible. I use a low-power green light bulb to give me just enough light to see my way in the grow room without triggering a hormonal change in the sensitive plants.
What helps is you can monitor the development of the induced "male" flowers pretty easily because there's only one specific branch where they are growing, and both times I was able to collect them all right before they popped so there was no general release of pollen in the room, rather, I was then able to bag a couple other branches the same way, and throw in some of the ripe male flowers before sealing. Just occasional shaking of the bagged branch was sufficient to pollinate plenty of buds and a nice crop of feminized seeds eventually resulted.
The best thing about this method is you can selectively create boutique seeds in decent quantity, while still allowing 95% of you grow to develop seed-free. It was several decades ago I last did this but I recall selling a vial of those seeds for a HELL of a lot more than the buds! Even then, people appreciated the wonder of knowing all your little seedlings will be girls. I frankly don't know how anyone can grow plants to maturity then have to kill half of them ever again now that there are so many feminized seeds out there. Anyway, that's how we made a bunch of our own without taking the chemical route.
Your plants look good so far. Keep it up!
Peace, Hyena
Heya Hyena Merica,
I will have to get back to you on this. i have no reason to doubt what you have stated and plan to research this a little further, or if I know me, I will research it by just diving in head first and jis doing it like you did. I may have questions at a later time but rest assured that this little gem has it's place here in this garden at least once. I don't know how you found me here but I am grateful you did and stop by again sometime. Things will be a little diff next month and I hope to keep a better type of journal then as well.

Hyena,
That's some interesting reading & I'm 9 days into 12/12 and want to try it . Would a paper bag work, like the size for bottle of booze ? And do I have to open the bag & inspect, during the 10 days ? or just wait 10 days & then cut the branch off ? If I have to open that bag, then I'd be afraid of pollinating whole crop ? I'm thinking just take the branch by gently cutting it off and wait for next crop to pollinate ?? My mind is already looking for a light proof bag .
If indeed this works, I for one will be forever grateful to you !! This could be sticky status !!
