5 Unknown Strains - 2012 Grow

I think the problem with the freezer clones would be unthawing them to fast. I think i will let them thaw out in the fridge and then slightly add heat around them. I guess by opening the bag more often.

The expansion of the water in the cells is what does the damage to vegetation. As the water freezes, it expands and ruptures the cell walls.

That's what I was gonna say. :)

When the water freezes, the ice crystals shred the cell walls. I would be shocked if a cutting survived a few days in the freezer. Of course, I'll be shocked if they can survive in the fridge too. Are you planning to pull some out at intervals to test how long they are viable? ie take a couple out at 7 days, then 24 days etc.

Actually... I've kept clones in stasis (in water in the fridge) successfully for three weeks. Longer than that, it starts to get iffy.

Here's are some threads on this very method

Interesting Jandre. I had never heard of this. Wish I had known a few weeks ago. Delaying some clones could have really helped me with the timing for my second run. Oh well. I'll check out the threads.

Thanks! +rep

I have some in the fridge and then I have test runs in the freezer. Im pretty sure the fridge will come out on top. But I would like to see the freezer work also. But the info you gave Jandre i guess not. I just got the idea from my mother. When I was younger I always seen her put roses in the freezer. Never knew why???? But they never got ruined.

Roses are perennials, they actually need freezing "Winter" to flower big in the next growing season.

Cannabis is an annual, and therefore grows only one season and does not recede back into the roots to hibernate/go dormant for the winter.

Good info. I never knew that. I never asked her either. I can rest easy now actually knowing that. :laughtwo: reps! For sure

Hehe, Thank you!

Not all roses need to freeze to grow big flowers next year. It depends on the root stock, but as a general rule, roses do best when frozen back to the roots in the winter.

They don't give reviews on there. And the ones I did google had bad reviews. This maybe the hardest thing to shop for.

Other note. This week update coming soon. Things are looking great. New set up you guys will love it. Ill be making one of these & running the same air pump as you see :)

looks good..i never was any good a growing in water..still trying though...i just went to Harbor Freight and got some cameras that hook to your tv...i ran it through my dvd recorder..$30...they also have sets with recorder $300...

I have one 5gal. bubble bucket running now. That was my practice run and im doing good so far. Only problem ive been having is that the air stones get clogged very easy. I try to go 2 weeks with out res change. Very hard to do so.

I meant to do a photo update yesterday when the lights went off but I was so busy cleaning out the new space for the hydro set up I lost track of time. Ill try to get one up later today. Theyve been in flower for a week now. Im running 10/14 and I have to say they have nice cotton balls in such a short time :)

Thanks for the extra info about the cameras. I will see if I have that store locally.

Theres a new product out thats called Colloidal Shield. Im about to email the company to see if there is any true difference between there product and regular CS. Theres is 25-30 PPM though. Which at 1/4 cup will take care of a 5 gallon res. Heres some specs.

Colloidal Silver will boost immunity and speed up cell rejuvenation. Also , killing and preventing crop borne pathogens is a guarantee , no matter if you're adding colloidal silver to your reservoir, mixing it in your nutrient solution or using it as a foliar spray. Known as natures antibiotic, ionic colloidal silver will help main- tain plant vitality and prevent disease in all stages of growth!

Week 1 of flower. After this grow I will have my mind up about either going all hydro or sticking to coco. It will be a huge challenge to run over 8 buckets using 10" 5 gallon net pots with 2 plants per bucket. They will be the same strain so no issue with height and so forth. I have to put in another order for voodoo juice. I love that stuff but if I go all hydro I will up voodoo juice to H&G Root Enhancer. One thing for sure about hydro plants will flower alot quicker and produce more. Im running 10/14 light schedule. I picked to do so because it stops lateral growth and does more bud production. Dont have time to keep adjusting lights so 10/14 works perfect. :thumb:
