420 Tries Again! 4x4 RDWC 600W Switchable HID & 260W Actual LED

Hey budz! Glad to see things are going well in here and that you got through your algea/slime issue. Always nice to be that close to a hydro store, closest to me is about 3 hours any direction so I normally order online from one of them if I need something, ships fast.

I see you're trying out the lucas formula. I remember reading up on it back when I was trying out hempy buckets and I thought about trying it but never did. Since then I had kind of forgotten about it since I have majority of the GH Flora lineup lol I might have to try it sometime as a comparison, feed a few the lucas formula and the other few my regular feed. Interested to see how it works for you nonetheless and maybe I will go for it.

Plants are looking strong and mighty, keep up the good work. If you're looking to maximize your light penetration, lower that MH light down some more, the plants will thank you with tight new growth :) That is of course unless heat is an issue at the canopy.
Hey hey! 3 hours! That would drive me a little nuts lol. I figure I’ll try it out, see how the plants take it. If it works, sweet!! A comparison would be cool. I’d be curious how that would turn out for sure. The hid has to stay up there due to heat. I may turn it up to 600 but we’ll see. I’m hoping the LEDs do the trick to help. All a learning curve lol. I enjoy it. Good to see you around! Happy growing!

You got a killer grow space mate. I wish you good luck and hope you can get a nice and healthy yield :passitleft:
Thanks! I appreciate that. I hope so too! It should be a good show either way lol.
Hey man, welcome back! Glad you looked me up. Your plants look good. Will you be using an HPS lamp?
Thanks dude!! It’s been a little while but I’m definitely back. Plants looked good until I looked today. One looks messed up, I’ll post about it in a minute. I will be using HPS during flower. It’s a switchable ballast so it can do MH or HPS. The 2 LED panels will stay in there as well. This is a bit bigger then my 2x2 lol. Really looking forward to seeing what 2 plants will do in this space. Happy growing!

Alright, so today’s update is a little bit frustrated. Shit happens, I know. But being curious and someone who enjoys fixing things. I like to know why things happen, why things break, etc. that being said, I thought things were going fantastic. The orange buckets were a pain in the ass so I swapped them out. No problem. Yesterday I noticed some new growth looked like crap. Sure enough, I get home from work and it looks like shit. I’m the first one to say “chill out and don’t get to bothered”. So I’m going to take my own advice and chill. But I’m still pissed off. Any ideas as to what caused this? What it could be? and how the eff to fix it? I haven’t run into leaves looking like this in all my years of growing (18 years). Halpp!!

I got sick of the funky growth and trimmed her right back lol. So I’ll consider that another topping. We will see how she reacts over the next few days. I’m going light on the nutes right now until things smooth out. 300ppm 5.8ph. Hopefully she reacts well and kicks into gear. I won’t be waiting too long for it. I don’t want my other plant to suffer. I figure 2-3 more weeks about. Then flower time. Here’s a few pictures.

Hey buddy as you know I only grow in soil so my advise probably isn't worth much but I'd say you staying calm instead of freaking out was a good first step lol. But for real I would just double check everything that you did, maybe you forgot something or accidentally double dosed something, was there something on the inside of the new buckets, just stuff like that. I just had to diagnose a high PH problem that I would have bet money I didn't have lol, so I feel ya. Hopefully everything gets back on track quickly bro, good luck.

Thanks! The kind words mean a lot. I appreciate the advice. I washed out the buckets before use so hopefully that’s not it? I’ll go through everything and watch them close for a couple days.
I don't know shit about hydro. But I'd start with the pH pen. Make sure it's calabrated properly. Just go back through the basics and you'll get it fixed. I like to compare my pH pen readings to the kit with the drops

Yeah, I’ll definitely be looking at everything I’ve done. I have a reservoir monitor on the way, will be here tomorrow. When I calibrate that and set it up I’ll do my pen. This new one is a continuous monitor and does PH and EC. I’m looking forward to it. We’ll see what happens! Thanks for the advice!

Looks to me little like a micro nutrient issue. P and K can cause issues similar to this as an excess OR deficiency with other nutrients in a lock out situation especially with the wrong Ph. Im with the rest who are saying check your Ph

I got a res monitor and calibrated it along with my pen. My pen was over by .3 so when it was said 5.8 it was actually 6.1. Not a huge issue but Ive corrected it. I also discovered the ppm pen I was using was off (low) by 200 ppm!! That means I was over feeding. That has also been corrected. Well see what happens now! The one plant was BAD. The other one showed slight signs of it happening. I need to get some PH up as Im sitting low right now. Res is at 400ppm and 5.4 PH. Ill bump it up after grabbing some tomorrow. Thanks for the advice!

Ontario is semiretired. He had a really big harvest and took some well deserved rest. He threated to haunt the site, but i havent seen him.

People come and go I suppose, ah well. Maybe he’ll be back one day.

Here’s a hello picture for today! Lights went on half hour ago. Going to the hydro store after work for a couple things. Hopefully I don’t buy to much lol. Hope everyone is having a good Saturday!
