420 Magazine's Official Girl Scout Cookies Comparative Grow By ProfessorFlora

Hey HashGirl.

The other day I removed all of the growth from each branch on both plants except from the tips. Today I removed those tips from each branch leaving two smaller tips or tops if you like, to take their place. A few days before I flip both plants to flower I will remove all of the growth right up to the tips of each branch again leaving only the tops to go into flower. This should create a tabletop canopy and minimise lower grow saving me having to trim up the plants as much in the future. I hope I explained that well enough.
Wow, that's sounds pretty extreme. I'm looking forward to see it in action!

Won't be long and we will be flipping the switch.
I'm looking forward to seeing that too! Plants are looking good all trimmed up. I bet not having to waste time on the sickly leaves is improving their health faster too.
It didn't really work quite like that. They started out looking much better but then the yellowing pushed through again. I'll show you what I mean.

Hey 420. We are still on course to flip these two to flower on the first of July though I'm only half happy with their current condition. Both plants are still growing but I just can't seem to shake that rough looking appearance. We did manage to double the tops though which is good and each plant could potentially have up to 22 mains. Unlikely they'll all be good but it give us something to work with.
In preparation for flower I have given both pots a half dose of GeoFlora bloom nutrients. I'm hoping that putting them into flower will help them to look a bit better. I just hope that they are healthy enough going into flower and don't have a slow start. I'm sure we will be fine. Here is what they are looking like at 68 days from seed....

One week left to sort themselves out and then we go 12/12.
Happy growing everyone.

The cuttings are coming on and I have decided to speed things up by carefully putting them into some coco. These look pretty good and you can see that the plants could look very nice if I could get them under control. I will pot them up later today....

ProfessorFlora, I think you are growing in coco, which I’ve never done. If those plants were in soil I would cut back on water and feed N immediately. I’m a relatively new grower, but have learned a lot here on 420. My plants fade out in flower, so I have to keep them green before the flip. I’m sure these fine genetics will turn around. Cheers

I'd say that you're right and it is the coco which is causing me issues. There are things which I could do which I'm sure would fix the situation immediately. I could flush it through with chemical nutes. I've successfully ended difficult organic grows in that way before but I'd consider that cheating and I want to see the GeoFlora through to the end. After the clones establish themselves I will get them ready to run in soil this time and see how they should really look. I think we will see some very different plants.

They will be big bushes soon enough. You could probably contact GeoFlora and get advice on feeding schedule in Coco. They look hungry as I'm sure you are aware.

To my knowledge GeoFlora is time released 1feed/week. That might not be enough for Coco but I've never grown in soil-less media.

Hey peeps
Hope your all good n that.
The Living soils organic grow, suggests doubling up for coco… not sure if it’s the same for the GF. Think it’s a similar product though.
I haven’t used it yet, but will be very soon.

Might b quicker if u ask on their gsc how to thread
Geoflora started a thread to run with the gsc grow :ganjamon:

Hey bo. They have been removed from the 5gal pots and have been downsized into 5ltr pots with synthetic nutes. They continued to get worse until they were no longer drinking. It seems that at some point they begun to develop root rot and I caught them while there are some good roots left. Here they are the other day....

The plants came out far too easily....

So we have gone in to a temporary infirmary. They are in coco again as it was all I had at the time and I haven't decided how to continue once they begin to recover. I may put these into soil with the GeoFlora or just continue with the coco and synthetic nutes for ease. Here are the plants today looking not too good but are just beginning to go green again. Fingers crossed lol. We will do this!....

They've barely done anything in weeks. I'm going to wait to see what growth recovers and then tidy them up. What a palaver....

Good morning Professor!
Your plants look hungry and lacking of Magnesium.
"FEED ME SEYMORE " :meatballs:
Good day Furcifer. I think they are lacking more than that at the moment. Don't worry though. We'll nail this.... eventually.
How are your plants doing now?
Hey Mars. Not great as you can probably see but we'll sort that and then give your light a good workout.

Thanks for your patience and happy growing everyone.

Shame it hasn't worked as planned but you've kept them alive and hopefully they bounce back after the changes. Fun and games.
They seem to be stuck in between growing and dying which I guess is better than straight up dying. They will bounce back, it's just a case of how and when.
Wow, I hope they turn around in a good way for you.
How's your environment doing? Humidity and Temps hard to control?
Good luck for they are resilient breed.
The environment is good. I'm sure all the problems have been nutrient uptake related. They should turn around now but if not we will try something else. There will be flowers! Lol

Sorry to hear of your difficulties, Prof. My girls are struggling, too. Apparently, you're supposed to amend your medium with GeoFlora and top dress. I was told this instruction was in the first post in the GeoFlora thread but I don't see it.

My girls are amended and top dressed now so like you, I have to wait and see. :nervous-guy:
