420 Magazine's Official Girl Scout Cookies Comparative Grow By ProfessorFlora

Whew! Thanks Professor. :thanks: Is it an INDOOR worm farm? :laughtwo:. I thought it was for outdoors - it was very rugged! Whether indoor or outdoor, I wish for a worm farm for you! :high-five:
It probably is meant for outdoors but I'd want to treat the worms like pets and give them a nice warm corner somewhere indoors. Plus they work much better in warmer conditions. A shed would do but there is no room in there and I'll leave the outdoors spring clean until the summer is well underway.

Hey 420. Well it has been 9 days since the plants were transplanted into larger pots and they have just begun to grow properly again. The plants took a bit of time to adjust to the GeoFlora dry nutrient source which was applied as a top feed after the plants were put into the larger pots. In hindsight I should have mixed some of the veg nutrients into the coco prior to transplanting but for some reason I didn't. I think the top feeding simply took a little while to get going but the plants seem to be moving along nicely again. The old leaves look yellow and some have even fallen off already but the new growth is all a nice shade of green. Things should pick up from this moment on and hopefully I will stop messing around now lol....

Hey 420. It's been a few days since the last update and things are looking up. The new growth is coming through nicely and the plants are growing noticeable quicker. Looks like the roots are taking hold and settling in so we should see some nice growth over the coming weeks. I must say that despite the minor transplant hiccup and slower start, both of these feel quite strong....

The topping which they received 4 days ago is causing them to grow wide and the lower growth to become stronger. The new growth looks good on both plants and soon I will remove the yellow leaves myself. Just so the pics look better really. This time next week I'm sure we'll all be green again.
I'm not sure which plant I like the most yet. Both are different enough but none seems better yet. All that matters is that we're all happy.

Happy growing everyone.

I take the ugly leaves off, too. It's not like they're going to get better anytime soon. I know they will look great by the end because you're Professor Flora . :battingeyelashes:

So far I'm liking what I see with these. The nutrients seem to be working nicely now after the awkward crossover and it won't be much longer before the flip to flower if they continue to grow like this. I'd say that there is a couple weeks before that though.
Happy growing everyone.

Hi Professor! :ciao: Your ladies are looking good over here! Nicely done, sir. :cheesygrinsmiley:
Thanks Boo. They're waking up now. I wasn't sure what to expect using the coco and organic nutrient combo but both plants seem to be getting more vigorous now. Next I'll take a clone from each of these to keep as a potential mother. GSC #1 is starting to look like the winner but I'm normally wrong when it comes to guessing which will be the best.

Happy Friday, Professor! Looking good. Coco has always been intriguing to me but never tried so I am excited to watch along. I also love your light and tent set up, it is one of my favorites so far that I have tried through a full grow. Plants are looking good! I'll be back here admiring from a far

This is one of my current mind benders. I am simply ignorant to the timing and size potential to know when to make that decision. If you don't mind, I may be calling on you along the way to help me pull the trigger. Your girls are looking good. I am anxiously waiting to get mine potted up!

Happy Sunday in return, MG!
Coco growing can be fun and it's really surprising how vigorous the plants grow. I did some coco grows last year but then started to encounter problems so I went back to soil. The growth from the soil grows just felt disappointing when compared to the coco. Now I'm feeling brave enough to go coco again but as you may have seen at the beginning of this thread, that confidence was smashed pretty badly. We're still going though and the plants are looking better everyday. I'll drop today's update shortly.
ProfessorFlora, I will be checking out your coco top dress nutes grow. Looking nice and bushy today.
Cheers cr8grow. The top dressing seems to be working fine now even though I didn't mix any nutes into the media. I guess I will have to get a head start and begin to introduce a small amount of flower nutes soon. Pics coming up.

It really is worth waiting that little bit more before you flip to flower. Flipping early for whatever reason is something I am guilty of quite often. They say that plants double or triple in size after the lighting change but I find that to be a pretty useless guide. I've had little plants which have stretched to perhaps dozens of times there own size and have had plants which have hardly stretched at all. We have @Justin Goody's example to go by and I'd say that the stretch isn't too much with this version of GSC. I have two plants which are growing differently though so it can only be a rough guide. Don't worry too much about it. You'll have plenty of eyes guiding your plants and you'll hit flowering just fine.

Hey 420. Last night I gave the plants a second top dressing of the GeoFlora veg nutrients. I went with 5oz per pot and watered it in well. I actually watered to run off as I think the plants can handle it now. They are both still doing well and are that little bit greener today. So here we are on day 44 from seed....

They are looking like they are ready to explode!

I was curious about something with the @GeoFlora Nutrients and my uppot that is happening shortly. The soil mix already has some blended in. They are due for their next topdress today. Should I even topdress if they are going into soil that is pre-charged with GF already? I mean, I'm going to top dress anyway to stay on the 2 week schedule but just a random thought from a currently not stoned stoner.

Looking good, Prof. How long are you planning on vegging them?

Although, from what I've read, it appears hard to use too much GF. That said, I think if you're planning on up-potting and your medium has already been prepared with it, that top dressing with it, too, would be overkill. Just my two cents.

Thanks BA.

In regards to your question, I think HashGirl hit the nail on the head. If it's in the mix already then there'll be no need to top feed for a short while.
Looking good professor :thumb: :passitleft:
Cheers MB. Got some more pics on the way.
Looking great Professor! I am just catching up on all the comparative grows! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:
Hey Emilya. Thanks for stopping by. That is something I have to do also lol.
Looking good, Prof. How long are you planning on vegging them?
Hey HG. Not sure yet. I guess I'll keep going until they look right. They don't look quite there yet if I want to really fill the space and I think they will go at least another couple of weeks.

Hey 420. It's been a couple of days since the last update and the plants are growing rapidly under the Martian sun....

They are still chugging along but on closer inspection #2 is looking a bit stressed. She is a quite pale and yellow and has some burnt tips in places but she is still growing at a good pace. My gut instinct is telling me that it is fine and she is just growing well. I don't want to go messing with things so I will just observe for now and see how it goes. GSC #1 is doing very well and I have no concerns with that one. I lifted the pot above my head earlier to see if the roots had started to show and there are plenty coming out of the bottom of this one. Not so many on #2 but they are coming.
Tomorrow I will take a cutting from each plant and see if we can water clone them in some jars. Should be fun but for now here are some pics of the ladies 46 days from seed....

Happy growing everyone.
