420 Magazine's Official Girl Scout Cookies Comparative Grow By HashGirl

Cool & not to early to crash the party.

Looking interesting, I always did enjoy training the plants.

:welcome: to my grow journal, Fuzzy. I'm still new to training (and growing) so I'm not necessarily enjoying the training quite yet but I do enjoy the whole grow experience and of course all the new friends I've made here on 420 that have been an enormous support for me.

I would take some of the largest fans off on the GSC 1. That will make it easier for the lowers to get light, make it easier to spray for the pests that Mocha mentioned, and will force the plant to do some growing of new fans on the lower nodes.

I thought taking fan leaves off the top wasn't recommended. Some other growers just fold those leaves under and expose the bud sites. :hmmmm: And, growing new fans on the lower nodes seems contrary to what I thought. Don't we usually remove those leaves to make it easier for watering?

If you have the top two nodes absolutely horizontal, then when the lowers catch up you just let all the nodes grow up together. That way the canopy will be pretty even when you flip.

Great! Thanks, Shed.

:bravo: I'm sure he loved it!

Thank you, he did.

Thank you.

They're going to get their groove on in their new homes I think! Hope your knee feels better fast!

Thanks, Stone.

I don't think all rules apply in all situations, and the fact that you have really large fans scrunched up under the bent top would be a time to take off a few. Also, being able to spray the underside of all the leaves is paramount at this point to get ahead of the bugs.

We also want to spur new growth on the lowers (since that's what LST is for), and taking off a few fans will do that in conjunction with the training.

I never take off fans to make it easier to water unless I have a little autoflower that I've trained so close to the pot I can't get a watering can under it! And it's been a few years since that happened. :)

Okay. When I adjust her tomorrow, I will make the changes. Thanks, Shed.

When do you take off the bottom 2 or 3 nodes?

They do look a little sad. When was their last full watering? Maybe the combo of thirst and training is stressing her out.

I have had shots for my back. It sucks at first but then the inflammation subsides and you will feel relief. Unfortunately, it is not long term relief. Sorry you're dealing with pain. Pain is truly a happy life leech. It can literally suck the life out of you at times. Blessings on your shot and pain HG! Take care and PLEASE try to take it easy when you are feeling relief. The pain is simply masked. You could cause yourself some more damage if you are overly active on it. Just be mindful is all.

Hi Baked.

I watered them yesterday because they looked sad. I haven't seen them yet today but I would assume they're looking a little better.

Thanks, Baked. Don't worry, I'll be careful. And, I know it's not long term so I'll need to talk to my doctor about other options going forward.

Good morning.

I did as Shed suggested and took off the biggest fan leaves. The forward facing photos look like there's a difference but the top down view doesn't look much different.

Girls look good to me. They will probably like a larger container.

Sorry to hear about your sore knee. I never liked cortisone. Always made things worse for me so I wont go there anymore. But the side effects are pretty good. Get a lot of energy for several weeks. Not sure if thats a good thing but its a thing at least it was for me.

I had my quad ruptured and put back together. I went swimming for recovery. That was very helpful. Low stress workouts are very good for knees.

Thanks, bo. I still need to prepare the 5 gallon containers for the girls and that's not happening until next week at the earliest.

I've never had a cortisone shot before but I'm hoping it's going to help as I would really like to go on walks with my husband again.

We have a pool and I do use it for swimming laps but I'm not a strong swimmer so I'm not sure how many calories I actually burn doing it. Calories burned is important to me as I'm actively trying to lose weight and the lack of exercise for the past 2 months has really hurt.

In the pool here's a good exercise

float with head just out of the water in the deep end.

put arms at your side and keep them there then kick your feet
to keep your head out of water. Tip - hold your breath for as long
as you can while kicking. (helps you float).

This will be very good for your knee and you will burn calories.

It's not easy to do.

Start doing 15 seconds and do 3 sets. Add 5 seconds a week or sooner if you feel good about it.

Thank you, Bo. I will try it out next time I swim.

I prepared my first 5 gallon pot today readying it for up-potting.

  • ProMix
  • 1/2 cup of GF Veg
  • 5 teaspoons of Dynomyco (1 tsp per gallon)
  • 1/2 pkg Earth Alive

My knee is still sore so I only did one pot today. I'll do the rest another day (or 2 or 3 or, or, or... :laughtwo: ).

Hope your knee gets better. Cycling can help strengthen muscles that support the knee and can help reduce knee pain. Start out slowly and add a bit more each day.

Your plant will love all that fresh soil and amendments :)

Thanks, Sissy. I don't cycle. When we bought our first house in 1997, we bought bicycles. I weighed 264 pounds at the time. I tried it for one summer and hated every minute of it. At the end of the summer, I gave the bicycle to my youngest sister.

When I had lost 70 pounds and we had moved into our second house in 2003 and Felonious (my husband) suggested that cycling might be easier for me now that I had lost so much weight. So, we bought me a new bicycle and I tried again and again, I hated it. That bicycle went to my second youngest sister. ;)

About 5 years after the second time trying, my youngest sister suggested that it might be time to try again because she needed a new bicycle.

I loved the story! We all have our likes and dislikes. I was finally able to get my wife into biking after the second (much more expensive) bike. But we all have our own hobbies which is great that we are able to explore what we like. Anyway, great job on the weightloss, I have gone through it on a smaller scale and it takes serious work.
