WHY I LST EARLY
I wanted to briefly explain why, after doing the UBT and the four colas are long enough, I immediately start LST'ing and spread them out.
The obvious benefit is that this forces the plants to start bushing out and sending out side shoots from those main colas and this is definitely one of the reasons. But, maybe even more important, I'm trying to control the height right from the beginning.
One of the "keys" to large yields is in letting the plants get mature with thick stems that can support heavy buds. So, I want to try to keep the plants as short as possible for as long as possible before flipping. If/when the canopy gets too thick (and, it does!), I can always remove the smaller stalks, but I don't want to have to flip too early due to a tall, immature, plant.
It's much easier to control the height when you start early.
Happy Harvests!
