400w HPS, 3 Topped Plants

I'm thinking that nug was not all that premature.

I've found that the bigger light the you use the more nutes they take. I suspect that is what the 1000 is doing for you. I run my 250hps tank with a little lighter nutes then the one under my 400 and that seems to work well. It's not much different. Around 150-200ppm.

yah they are drinking more because they have more energy from photosynthesis. MC, trust me, that shit was, well I guess not premature, but early for sure. That plant was a good bit ahead of these two.. I had it in a different room for 2 weeks before I transferred it to the attic and switched the attic to flowering where these two plants were
 
MC, this is the plant right before it fell over and snapped... maybe 15-20% red hairs. not close enough.. good trich count

I can still help you, what is the size of your room... Ideally you want atleast 8x8 room for 1000w.. you can get away with less with proper cooling

currently have a 400w in a 1mx1mx2m tent - on a first grow.

i will be able to go up to a 1.5mx1.5x2m tent ( 5'x5'x6.5' ) - thinking that a 1000w with an air cooled hood might be to much .....or will it ?? maybe with a light mover and an air cooled hood ??? how close are you able to get the light to the plants with your air cooled hood ??

if 1000w is overkill - i was thinking maybe of a 600w/400w combo ( as i would be a able to get these a lot closer to the ladies )

yah it will be overkill. a 600w with air cooled and glass sealed air cooler with a 300cfm fan will do you fine.

man, my dad used to drag race.. he hand built 427s with L88 parts for his 3 of his 7 corvettes and 2 chevelles... Im just saving money to buy the parts for C5R engine so me and the dad can built it together.. they generate 875hp unrestricted. Im gonna a custom suspension so I can lower the spring rate in the rear so I can get a good launch with my drag slicks and Im aiming for a 9.5 in the 1/4 mile.
