Im super tired but want to knock of a question or two before I crash
as for me unless Ill be gone for more than 24 hours without being there I mix up 10-15 gallons of nutrient solution and add a gallon or two a day depending on what stage their in.
As for controlling the temp and RH you could do like Im trying to do and run both rooms off one Temp/RH controller ( I got mine used on the auction site for 70 bucks) and use light proof vents to accomplish this, somewhat simple.
As for the CO2 well have to figure that one out together as I have yet to ever supplement co2 in my projects. I was talking with sWeetP and were talking about trying to find a few used tanks, my big 300 cap controller is giving me issues but I prob could still use the co2 functions well see
explain a little more about the one side reflective question?
I think if at all possible get yourself another foot or two in veg, UNLESS two trays and two HPS lamps is as big as it gets? If so you could make it No Prob
Ill be back tomorrow so re ask anything didn't get to
Thanks s1ingblade, so your using the bloom room as your lung room for the veg room, and doing all of the temp/RH adjustments in the bloom room than sending it to the veg room, that solves one problem, (out-freakin-standing) this is why I'm asking you these questions, It's also handy having the Cap'n on speed dial. You know s1ingblade, you could keep this journal going for years ( and I hope you do) you can re-name it "THE LIFE & TIMES OF s1ingblade & HIS LADIES" what do you think?I will get the questions answered the best I can and those pics up to. Real quick both light proof vents have an 8" axial (like a computer case fan) on the opposite side of the wall. One fan is blowing hot air out of the veg and into the bloom to be conditioned and the other fan is installed backwards and pulls in conditioned air FROM the bloom to cool down and or dry the air in veg.
So I had to remove and repair one vent due to the fact when I first set it up there was only going to be one fan, both the cap'n and I think it will take two.
Oh yeah I have NEVER used co2, sorry but we'll learn together as I am about to get into gassing the plants once I get some tanks and the equipment including a ppm meter for the wall.
Please keep me posted if you get yours setup before I do, it will be a couple of months for me, maybe by the time I have the bloom and veg fully setup and loaded.
Also I started a single TH Seeds Promo female seed of sage n sour
1. So it sounds like starting with 15+ gallons will be a good start. When you say you add a gallon or two per day is the top off with water, or did you mean add extra when your going to be gone?
<<Sorry, I mean as it needs fresh I give it to them, usually if I am running 15 gallons of solution it needs a gallon or gallon and a half to bring it back to my mark. IF its Week 6 to 8 sometimes if Im lucky it takes 2-3
I plN ON Mking my reservoirs level to 20 gallons if Ill be away for a few days>>>>>
2. That sounds like a good way to control the temp/RH, should I be thinking of doing this in the veg room as well? Also, is there a way to hook up the Co2 to the temp/RH controller. Would it be better to run a soaker hose over the plants or put one hose in front of each wall fan and spread it that way? How did you keep the Co2 up in your room?
<<not sure, lol good question. I've not had the pleasure YET to run gas aka CO2>>>
3. In your video I see the reflective LP Tech Shield (by the way, can you say where you bought these panels) behind the ladies but not in front where the reservoirs are, unless you have a false wall you put back in front of them?
<< Yeah the Radiant barrier came from Jimmie Johnsons main sponsors Home Improvement store. LOL the Big Blue Store, not HD (orange).
Not bad at under $13 bucks a sheet makes me a happy man>>>
4. I wasn't thinking on the fact that if I add 2 extra 4'X4' trays in flower I will need a extra 4'X4' veg tray.
<<Plan on more than you think you will need. Wouldnt be too hard once your up and cranking the meds out to get more patients and need more meds. Plan ahead and build it as big as you can afford. Wish I couldve built a new shop from scratch, main reason I didnt is I dont like the cabin at the ranch getting ready to do nothing, I didn't want another building I can't take with me. We plan on buying a bigger home more out in the sticks one day and I can have this one moved for under $300>>
5. Okay 2-1000w for the 4'X8' area (my two trays side by side), and 1 600w for 1-4'X4' veg tray?<<Sounds fricken GREAT! s1 loves thousies>>
How would you fed in the veg room mid to late vegging, hand feed to waste or top feed to recover? Im actually lazy and love anytime I can top feed and recover. If you had to water by hand it will work its just better IMHO when a timer keeps track instead of someone who might forget or might have a job or things that make it hard to be there 2-3 times a day to feed. I like feeding drain to waste and feel the plants do a little better having fresh all the time but Im not sure its worth it. Give it to em however you have to lol>>>
Thanks again s1ingblade, when I finally get to start my "Grow Zone" I'll be like a brand new father again (scared to death). Sounds like you keep (ALL) your ladies happy, good man!
I'll try to get a video up before the weekends over showing it allHey s1ingblade, are these vents passive or are they hooked to a fan? Can we see the other side of the vent? I feel like a information Ho. Thanks s1ingblade. I was on 420 for so long in the past 3 months, I burnt out my modem. Lol
Thanks Cronic, it's been alot of work. It's like a marraige "for better or worse, sickness and health"Eveythings looking great Sling

The cap'n got over 20 ounces from one plant in a 3.5 gallon airpot (equivalent) so yeah I think yo could do fine. Both my 5 gallon smartpots and airpots do well but I think its the airpots I like more. Plus there so much easier to clean and reloadThanks s1ingblade, yet another question, I see you have the larger air pots and smaller net pots? With 4 plants per 4'X4' is a 3.5 gallon pot big enough for what I'm trying for? The 3.5 gal will be my first try, than I can move up from there. I was wondering if the small fan has to much blow back if it is to close to the flat port, I will look forward to the pictures this weekend.
One thing I'm still not sure of, when you are not in the bloom room is there reflective material all around & close to the plants or are just fine being in that room like we see in the video?
Again thanks for taking the time, I believe I understand just what you are saying.
#29 Kevin HArvicks my driver. I think he might have changed his #? I haven't been able to watch a full race yet this year.Did you just reference "NASCAR" one of my other loves.
I actually have a specimen thats in a smart pot and then inside a 15 gallon airpot. Usually when I use airpots I am in nursery containers until the trans. Prob would be easier going out of air and into the smarts than the other way around. What's up Sling! I had a quick question. I just purchased some 5 gal and 7 gal smart pots. It looks like you have a couple of girls in the trays in 5 gal smart pots as well?
If so, how does the timing look for when you transplant into the smart pot to when you transplant them into the airpots?

Hope that helped
Ill be on the road all day tomorrow, hope to be back in two days tops
Welcome back s1ingblade, in the bloom room, how often does your fan kick on to lower the temp/RH, I'm trying to figure out if I need another room to help get my air at the right temperature before it goes into my bloom room or is it easy enough to do it inside the bloom room?
Now I know you haven't tried Co2, but I was wondering if you put in Co2 than it doesn't mater how often the air is exchanged (air exchanged on to control temp/RH)?
I see you still have the TheCapn's ear, I feel that if I get the atmosphere right than I can concentrate on the growing part. Hey Capn please feel free to jump in at anytime, when I started to research my new hobby and for meds I read the entire grow room than everyone of your journals. the best was you and s1ingblade together. s1ingblade has been very nice to help this rookie and my first grow will be modeled after his set up. And yes I did learn that you can't ph the water. lol
Thank you for all your help s1ingblade (reps) to you.
welcome back is right, thanks.
I did 15 miles shy of 800 in the car to pick up and bring back two cuts of Gorilla Glue #4 and two cuts of Canantonic. This is a "Rescue Mission" that is also a gift to my patients and I. The plants are in def. need or nursing and tlc.
I'll take some pics and as they recover a bit Ill post them all.
Ill get back to you on the fans cycling when I figure it out lol. Im actually having an issue as I type this with temps and RH. I think you'd be fine as I will with the one room 60.
talk with yall soon
