4000 Watt Top-Feed Rec Grow Cubes Cap'n Style OG Kush

One cubic foot of croutons will fill two five gallon nursery pots.....super expensive! I have a test unit running, 5 gallon pot. It's slowly getting it's bearings in the new medium. I can see that once it takes hold it's going to do quite well. I'm running this test, and if the numbers come out equitable then I'm setting a unit up that's around 1000 sq. ft. and I'll run it. If I have to veg longer than 6 weeks I'll probably drop the method. I can run soil in a six week veg and pull an lb. per 600 watts. At close to half the price....maybe less.

Well, it's not really expensive if they can be recycled and the cost of water & nutes comes into play I'd imagine also as I doubt you're pumping that soil run off back around through that soil. How much do you spend per 5 gallon pot on your soil mix btw? Must be nice having a third of a football field for a grow room, sweet.

I can do 12 5 gallon pots....considering that I'm potting up, for a hundred bucks....as for runoff, I'm organic and I don't have runoff with the exception of a dribble......LOL.....I don't like the idea of washing nutes from the soil or losing my costly nutrients out the bottom of the pot. And yes, it is nice having the facilities I have access to.....that grow room you mention is like a pimple compared to other facilities I work with. It's all the same, if you notice, these high production growers look at everything in units....when viewed in this manner it takes much of the complication out of the equation....just reproduce the "units"...and you will multiply your yield commensurately.

no it's not.

those sound like big plans. what's your budget?

So back to what this journals all about.
Super high returns for a fraction the cost or labor of soil. I'll put up any plant any amount of veg time watt for watt with any super dooper soil.
Enough said if its gotta be soil take it somewhere else.

Im really wanting to share some love so how about a sneek peek in s1's veg room, soon to be no more room.

To the right u get to see "Tiny's revenge" my three month veg will be a costly one but at 32 zips I'll more than manage. In fact if there's any takers I'll be putting her in bloom in 14 more days, thats if she doesn't break down my walls first lol shes a mean one. I'll go heads up against any type dwc rdwc soil haha just kidding
Here's a pic of her in her tenth veg 18/6 out of the box

Four of her sisters 30 days out of the box (kloner, turbo)
image6851.jpg

They are actually waiting for a slot right now as im more than confidant in seven zips per plant and at four plants and a thousie well you get it, lots of happy patients :)
Here is a shot of two dozen clones fully rooted and ready to go but half will hit the burn barrel later this morning.
image6849.jpg

Here's what I call my "Noah's Ark in 14 days" they were freshly rooted cuts 14 days ago. They are all my "keeper pheno's" and will most likely hit the guerrilla patch as my new spot will need a fresher batch taken if I wanna get em home young

With parts just lying around and a little elbow grease cleaning em up my bonus room is now 100% hydro. Set up a res on a timer and will be posting pics as soon as I can get a shorter riser and finish the install. Oh wait I bought a four dollar seventy cent air diffuser.
I'll start a outdoor journal later this year until then im all hydro lets keep the journal flowing that way.

Finally a 'peek' into the veg room! It is really amazing how you have your whole perpetual system running like clockwork, and you don't have to even fully explain it for one to fully understand your 'plug 'n play' system. I'm really digging it bro.

I'll be expecting to learn so;)e tricks with that outdoor journal of yours too.

I tell ya if it wasn't for sharing the knowledge with growers who will get something out of it I wouldn't spend the time AG, your one of my favorite members here.

Made me think earlier how I've had a few mentors her myself and want to give a special shout out to

I really would not be where I am right now if it was for anything less than those four.
I've made lots of friends here and some are close like brothers but those guys are worthy having spent lots of hours helping this all thumbs guy haha
Thanks again

Thx, I'm to old to lose focus, lol. Curious about something, when irrigating does the water build up at all in the pot before draining into the tray like a ebb & flow kinda thing or does it just run straight through for the most part; and do you see any reason why a drip ring made out of the same tubing as used coming out of the pump with holes made wouldn't work as opposed to buying one like your beauty or constructing a bulkier one out of the PVC?

My budget will be what it costs....and we'll evaluate the results. I hope to switch to a modified version of the capn style, it's so easy, we can keep the overhead way low just from the time we woulda spent movin dirt. Unless someone specifies dirt for a pregrow....grow to order, I have to get away from the dirty, heavy soil. Not to hijack this thread..........sorry bro........but so far the test plant is doing quite well, theres a huge load in the flower room already and I'm excited to get it in there...even if I'll be watching it from a thousand miles!
Current flower room=100 sq ft........2200 hps. I didn't get the deal on the cubes either....since I just bought enough to do the test......we have six plants running in that medium in three different configurations.....plus the one capn style.

Thanks S1ingblade. I'm sure the others mentioned feel humbled to have your appreciation too. Just to let ya in on something... My MMJ cocktails for mom really do help her with the Alzheimer's. She's still goofy as shit. But she has more periods of clarity when getting good doses. And it's those moments of clarity that make it worthwhile as she grows old. If I had not searched the internet on her disease and holistic treatments, it's likely I would not have ever ended up here at 420mag.

Basically, I'm much like the couple with the military dad, and little girl in the Dr Sanjay Gupta CNN special. Something imho everyone should see at least once. Anyone who says their eyes don't tear up just a little with joy is lying.

Bassman, I feel your pain as I am watching my own mom 'slip" away over the years. I am absolutely dying to get my hands on Charlotte's Web, or another high CBD low THC strain to get my green thumb growing that. The potential to remedy, not just treat, illnesses of the mind is vast to say the least. Remember a few years back there was discussions of possible Alzheimer's cures made from shark parts or even stem cells? I take it nothing ever panned out, yet here we are with a resource that is easily reproduced and w/o having to entertain the morality of harvesting stock from embryos. I want to dedicate a good chunk of the rest of my life fueling research how CBDs could possibly be used to treat and/or remedy mind illnesses and am hoping like hell we at least begin to legalize this year to get that on the front burner.

This documentary is such a turning point in the 'American' perspective of medicinal cannabis use. Cannabis use in general. The fact that a source of reliable information allowed for that segment to be aired speaks volumes in the shifting minds behind those CEO chairs.

Bassman, not to draw away from your troubles. You may not know how much I know, but I know how much value you add to this community (if that makes sense :laughtwo:) Your journal has had me lurking for hours at a time reading. I have no doubt you will get those doses just right. I'm sure you are familiar with Rick Simpson's methods. Are those along the same lines you start your tinctures or concentrates?

Just from the response alone it's a must that I peep this video & I will as soon as I have the 45 mins to spare.

Take notes, people! Clones with this much veg growth and only cut 14 days ago? Most of us (after 14 days) only have a nice rooted clone and just starting new growth.

Amazing, S1ing. One challenge that we all face (including me) is getting our clones into a rapid growth stage after rooting. I think I speak for everyone here when I ask... please post a blog entry and tell us HOW you get these babies to take off so soon after rooting?

I noticed most have been planted off center and more towards a side. Wonder if that has anything to do with it?

Im sorry cap'n it was 14 days out of the kloner. It took them 13 days to root up with the desired amount of root mass, prob roots and bumps day 8 or 9, by day ten there all roots but I give em a few days to get some legs and also so I can harden them off. By harden off I mean take the lid off a few times a day and let the babies get used to more light and get ready to fly the coup. It was prob three weeks ago they were rootless in the turbo
I wish 14 from cut haha. They are doing great and Sky the reason their leaning is their gangsta.
No the grow bags move around and I didn't have as much cubes to transplant properly so thats the two reasons there leaning. Or it could be I've been telling them about their soon to be screens and there just getting ready?
Have a nice day all

I tell ya what I will take pics and record dates of my next transplant which will happen in the next day or so and once there ready to transplant into three gallon containers I'll put all the data together and create my first blog.
