FYI Sling, I am UNSUBSCRIBING to this journal for now. I would love to follow it, but I'm tired of getting subscription notices, only to find out it is someone trying to increase their post count by cluttering up journals with nothing constructive. I'm too busy for this nonsense, and it makes it difficult for readers to follow.

I actually don't blame ya. 2-3 days away and you can have 400 emails of BS in you box. Pain in the ass to delete so many.

LOL, I'm currently reading from the start and then end up clicking certain links to backtrack where you prob picked this up (like on Capn's various articles) then various methods and costs of various methods for various sized closets. Curious on something while I play catch up though and if its actually covered towards the end and I woulda come to it anyways, I apologize. Do you try to recapture the Rock wool and if so how are you recycling it or do you just throw out it out w/the root ball and start fresh?
 
I tell ya whats weird is getting back after a night home with sWeetP and the pups and to come back and have ZERO trimming to do for at least ten days im lost lol.
I can't build the table I need in my smaller bloom room cause its dark and I don't want the chop saw to chop off the wrong thing, ya know? So until sunup at ten pm there's nothing to do and now this threads dead and it feels like im in the twilight zone..... Ooooh scary! Haha tinys flowers smoke a lot nicer Ina paper than a nasty old crusty pipe that aint been cleaned right in a year.

Actually right now I have two 55 gallon drums of the loose stuff. Meaning when I take out the done trunk and root mass I shake off as much loose stuff or at least as much as I can thats not just fool of roots. I am saving it for a summertime outdoor project and to be honest im not sure yet. I will probably inoculate it with tea a time or two this spring and give it a whirl. Not sure but I might hit em with some of my hygrozyme. Don't ever use it for anything else.

Hey man, nice to meet you also. Yea, only thing I could think of was hygrozyme too; don't know how long that would take or if it would prove to be cost/effort/space effective though, which was where my mind was on the question. I hope its alright to ask a couple questions.

First and foremost (and I truly hope I'm not bringing up a sore spot or bad memories here,) did you ever find the dog? I'm at page 15 so far and at the bottom of 14 you were about to paper the town with flyers.

Secondly, on your trays of 4 do you use an individual pump for each pot, individual reservoirs, what? I'm curious how you've got that set up. I'm considering giving this a try but with 2 or 3 pots in line as my room is only 32" deep.

ive tilled it into my gardens--seems to help with my clay based soil of course im only on bag #3,so there isn't really much in the soil

I also have set up my turkey fryer(with water) and boiled-steamed the croutons,seems to work, I have some growing in reused croutons
I cant tell the difference

No not yet but im almost sure I know who took him. Can't prove a thing so it looks like its a done deal. Now dude from last year knows I got game cameras up and internet surveillance so I highly doubt he'll return which is fine with me.
As for my stations each tray has one pump and one airs tone. Each tray waters up to four plants fed from the bottom of a 12 or 13 dollar tote. I won't use the cheapo 5 dollar ones, their weak and transmit light which is a no-no. Most places have the black bottom yellow top totes and there strong enough and block light. Some stations use 1/4 inch tubing coming off of a sprinkler 4or 8 port cheap manifold. I've got one with black poly tubing and punch in lines (1 prob where it popped off and made a mess) and some straight 1/2" line straight to halos. Ask away new friend thats what this is all about.
I will be super busy in a few weeks but will do my best to stop in from time to time, once im caught up I will have a brand new building setup for what I want to do with it not hey let's build a wood shop and grow weed out of it! Lol

Hope yall are having a nice day, im super burnt out and my body's hurting but im just waiting to see if the sun will come out and if she does I'll pull out the chop saw and go grab say 15 2/4s and get to cutting pieces to make three more tray stands. I only need one more here but the new project as I call it will have six four by four trays each under a thousie so I'll need to make three or one now and again in two weeks or a month make the others, I'll do it now :)

Sorry 'bout the dog; you show much greater restraint than I possess I hate to admit. Take some pics, if able, of the tray you're building (or of one of the ones in operation if you don't mind.) I seem to be to dense to grasp exactly how the water flows through the loop for some reason. Pump & stone in tray to manifold to halos, where's the tote in the loop?

edit: Okay, so it looks like from Tote to Halo through Airpot into Tray draining to Tote, correct? And in a tray (other than Tiny's, lol) you have multiple pots w/ a manifold splitting flow to multiple halos. The pump & airstone's are in the totes...did I atleast get close? Guess I got dislectic on the one pump & airstone per tray.
 
i never get emails when ppl post, i change the settings to control panel only and walla no emails, i would get 100s a day otherwise, not being able to recycle the rockwool is a problem for me, my mediums have to be economical and reusable i don't make any $ from my meds, lol dont even know how, i get a buildup i make budder, i have a few pounds in the freezer lol, the mb2 makes it cake to make budder , you need weakened bear traps around your acres they can be made to hurt like hell but not break bones and escape-able,

You got it! I am building a forth station as we speak for my smaller room. I'll take pics and if you want I can also post the measurements of the cuts I make on the two by fours. I think four 96" studs got me thru with a little left over. I get free turning 2" casters and attach on each of the four legs as it makes it so much easier to deal with the table in a smaller area..
Just remembered your area is diff and your running them in line. You could use PVC like the cap'n does and the yellow lids from the xtra strong tuff totes or tote commanders and easily use them as the tray. Im doing that right now for my next tiny style plant and the huge fifteen gallon equivalent airpot by super roots even fits in there and then it drains back down to the tote bottom below. The pump feeds the solution to the top of the container and gravity does the rest.
Can't wait to see pics of your setup. You can build any kind of shape you can imagine, only limit is your imagination.

Got any? Lol I used to have some traps for coyotes but who knows who stole those. Never was into trapping but would like to learn. The tanning of hides is what I'd feel bad about if it went to waste and sense I never knew how I stayed clear of the traps.
Dude you should see my erkle clones, the rooms been at 80 and there hauling booty

I'm in various stages on various things, lol. I think I'm going to partion off a 32"x60" section of a room and make a temp little closet and then try a 2 pot set up in there w/a couple individual pumps from Harbor Freight under 30x60 Screen & 600w light, then go from there if the method seems to fit me. I'm gonna keep it as simple as possible as it already bugs me to have to prob throw away the Rockwool, lol...speaking of which, how many 5 gallon pots will a bag of 'em mini-cubes fill do ya figure? Hey, thanks so much for responding and even more so in the patient way you respond.

I just filled two #15 nursery pots out of a two cubic foot bag. I would think you could get close to six if not at least five five gallon containers. Esp. If you transplanting cause I get more when there going from two gallons to five, get it?
Hope that helps if not let me know. Just went to the storage shed and the bag says that the LARGE contains enough mini cubes to fill 23 standard one gallon nursery containers it also says its 56.5 liters. Now I hope thats complete enough to help lol

Perfect! I was worried it wouldn't even fill 2 #5's and as far as "complete enough," only way to top that level of effort to help would be to actually grow it for me too, lmfao...however, that would kill the fun of it all. Thx man, I'm gonna throw some Blue Rhino & 8-Ball cuttings into my bubbler and give it a try; that should buy me a few weeks to get all in order for the attempt, & reread your thread to jot down some notes ideas on nute & potting up schedules
