Has anybody ever tried to top a plant 3 times???
I'll be starting 4 more plants in a week to get into the RDWC in three weeks and I've been thinking of topping them 3 times to get 32 tops going. I was imagining scrogging just the 32 tops and cutting off all the side branches to see if I could get 32 monster sized colas. Whats your thoughts?

For the sake of science you can try it. Im sure they would be giant! It may hurt your yield though, I think I read somewhere medium size colas are best.
Either way, you have plenty of flowers to spare in storage so go for it!
Not sure that aligns with the scrog evidence. I believe what you mean is they nugs get smaller but yield won't necessarily increase....

Though if you can get get full penetration down to the bottom of 32 8"' colas vs 16 14" with only 75% light penetration. I think it would be interesting to test out.

You're right JM. It would amount to the same thing as fluxxing wouldn't it.
I normally top 3 times, but I don’t do the work you do. My scrog is a trellis...

A few Sunday morning shots on day 47 of flower.
They're starting to show a few yellow spots and some crispy leaf edges, but just a sign of old age and bright lights. About 1 week to flush. I've all but given up on red buds, they don't seem the least bit interested in doing that for me. They should yield fairly well, theres a ton of tops in the there, every size is well represented. To the touch they are quite densely packed and stickier than anything else I've grown previously.

A flux is only topped twice once at the 3rd node and again at the end of either side of the flux.
The multiple tops may slow you down a week to 10 days in veg but it would be cool to see! It would /could be more effective than a flux if the training and defol are a little less extreme I would assume.

Beautiful Sd. Swollen buds in there. I love the structure too. That’s going to be great smoke.
I do love the staking structure also! No gaps just giant fat stinky hairy colas. the best kind!

Since you've obviously sold your soul to the garden gnomes, what could go wrong? Do it for the sake of adventure and keeping things interesting.
I topped and fimmed like a mofo on these Plants, maybe up to 10 times each give or take a couple
I say do it man
Also your plants are looking mint .
I'll say it now congrats on a killer yield man, love seeing space and energy maxed out .

All said and done those plants will be a foot of colas and 3" of fat stock
