300w LED - Sunset Kush

Re: 420 Cannasumer Reports - GrowLEDHydro Spectra 300w LED / Sunset Kush by Setting S

that sucks i liked looking at all the pics.. but you need ur smoke:blunt:

I'm OK on meds. I have some hash and some VK, so no worries there.

I just went back in the journal and checked when they started flowering, and they can't be ready yet. Vicky's at 41 days and Shrub at 32, so I'm going to let them go and check trichs again this weekend. Both parents were roughly 8-week strains, so unless this cross is a 40-day strain, they're not done yet. They look more than 40 days to me, but that's what the calendar says.

i love that USB camera, so cool. could you tell me where i could get one or how much they cost if u dont mind?

Those pics were taken with an "Eyeclops". Check on ebay for them. I got mine at Toys R Us a couple years ago and paid around $60. If you get one, I suggest getting the model that lets you output the video signal to a TV. It's much easier to take good pics with it that way because the built-in screen is small and low resolution.

That's odd SS...I noticed the same thing with my ladies today...and now I have a more clear understanding of things when it comes to cerebral/couchlock highs. As it sounds simple, it is not without some thought. LoL

How the hell do you get such good pics? I need me whatever that is...

Dude...Beyond the Brain...It's on the top of my list. Malawi Mini is out from attitude, and I believe Arjan's haze is fem only? I am still back to hashberry I think, and BTB from Mandala...

Well, I'm a little confused with my Sunset Kush girls right now because they look a lot closer to harvest than the calendar would indicate.

I really think it's better to grow sativas for a cerebral high and indicas for a couchlock high rather than try to juggle harvest times.

Arjan's Haze #3 seems to be fem only. Mandala's genetics are top-notch, so would be hard to go wrong there.

take care Go ;)

ya thats pretty low of flowering days. if you think their done wait a week;) that means they might still have a little push or bud growth in them, once they stop growing and go into ripen mode then you know their close.. but they do look more then 30-40 day's. and you have a little amber but not much.. maybe OC+ mixed with led is super speed on flowering.lol.. wish i had ur problem.. my plants are the opposite, like 20 weeks flowering but look like 2 weeks..LMAO..

ill check ebay thanks..

Ill say one thing, if i bought seeds i would get some Cinderella 99 or Space Jill.. space Jill is bad ass.

Re: 420 Cannasumer Reports - GrowLEDHydro Spectra 300w LED / Sunset Kush by Setting S

Thanks for reminding me of Cinderella 99. I've never heard of Space Jill, I'll check it out, thanks bro!

Just got back from the grow and there's been good growth since even yesterday, so I'm going to let them go longer.

ya if their still growing then you know not to chop them:)

it looks like their packing on the resin now from these pics. has this changed since the last pics? ya space queen is some very very killer bud. looks out of this world. i think the breeder is subcool or something?

the girls just look better and better every time:bravo:

Re: 420 Cannasumer Reports - GrowLEDHydro Spectra 300w LED / Sunset Kush by Setting S

They sure look great! I counted like 8-9 nice cola's that still look they can fill in some more. You sir are at my favorite time of any grow. Thanks for the great pictures. I like your advice on achieving different buzzes, of course, it's all in the genetics (sativa or indica) I personally have both right now, so I think I will be very happy with the outcome.

Well done and looking forward to see'n them fill out and ripen some more :bravo:

~Peace~

Re: 420 Cannasumer Reports - GrowLEDHydro Spectra 300w LED / Sunset Kush by Setting S

They look fantastic.
OC+ solamente?

BTW, funny you should mention C99 and Space Jill.....I've got them both on order, along with a cross of C99 and Blueberry.

well doc your gonna be growing my dream bud;) allot of people dont know about Space Jill, but its some true fire and looks sexy as hell. shit bro your doing it big, lots of nice strains your growing. do u ever worry about ur canopy not being even?

The pics of the frostier buds were of lower buds, which makes me think that I may still have light too close and it's burning off some trichs. I raised it up a couple inches last night and we'll see if that makes a difference.

Or, it could just be that they are starting to frost up now, because they still have some time left.

The most incredible plant I've seen in a long time was the Chernobyl by subcool that BeIrie grew recently.

thank you MJ Crescendo! There's some nice lower buds forming in addition to the colas. I'm gonna have fun with this harvest ;).

OC+ solamente?

Si senor.

I've been very tempted to give them some Maxicrop seaweed and some molasses, since they are staples of mine, but I've held off.

Just OC+ at about 4-5 Tbsp per container.

Some of the leaf tips are showing something that looks like tip burn, but I think it's just that some of the leaf tips have dried out, not nute burn, because in general, everything is green and healthy. You usually see tip burn first in the newer upper leaves, but that's not the pattern here.

These plants are green and healthy, no yellow leaves, not consuming themselves for nutes, and the buds are getting fatter every day.

The combination of seaweed extract, with it's growth hormones, and molasses, with it's carbs (and other goodies), has been an effective growth boosting and vitality tonic at any stage of my grows, so I can only imagine how they would look if I had given them some in addition to the OC+.

I eliminated the mild cal/mag def by switching to pure tap water, and the OC+ rocked this grow nute-wise.

i my leds grows i have found if the light is too close then their will be very little trics, and more of a dry feeling on the top buds.. ive seen this with the HGL 126w and the PS180w.. but my stuff was more leafy/dry crispy at top, it was wired buds didnt really grow with the light so close.. i dont see that being ur case because u have lots of buds up top..

it could be from the light being too close, leds seems to do weird things when too close, i had a top that was too close to the GLH light and it wouldn't flower but its lower branches were.. i just raised my lights up the most i can and i am maxed up on hight now.. but its around 12" from the tallest tops.

Re: 420 Cannasumer Reports - GrowLEDHydro Spectra 300w LED / Sunset Kush by Setting S

thanks for the feedback on light height, Irish. That's right where I have it now. I've had to readjust my thinking, because at 12", the lower-powered LED panels I used on the prior grow start to become useless for flowering due to lack of intensity, while this 300w panel comes into it's own.

It's so helpful when other LED growers share stuff like that since there are still so relatively few LED grows to draw info from.

I'm very glad I had the chance to do this grow as a practice run before the next. I'm much more comfortable with this LED panel now as far as it's distance to canopy limits.

My clones are thriving, andI can't wait to start the next grow, but I'm going to let these two ladies max out their bloom.

They are looking really good.

yes very good point, best to do a trail run and learn the lights before doing a side x side.. I think we all still have allot to learn with these lights and are getting their but i feel theirs still something that we might be missing like the perfect light hight or something? we will get better and better with every grow.. all i know is with my 300w 8" or closer will bleach my tops..

now you are right and i had to learn to change my ways when coming from the 1w leds to the 3w. because like you said with the 1w leds 12" was kinda far and the lower buds would suffer big time.. but with the 3w leds that not the case.. i am finding out that keeping these lights higher are giving me much better flower production. i think its because the colors are blending better? on my last grow i think my light was 18" or so and my buds looked good, but my buds further down low were nigger then some of my tops were. and i am noticing the same thing on this grow. when on of my tops were too close to this light my flower production stopped on that one top but the others farther away were doing better. now i moved the light higher its doing its thing.. the bad thing is my plants are so tall that i am maxed out on hight so it is what it is. but 12"+ should be good as long as the plants dont grow taller witch they should be done.lol.

i would say 12-14" is good for these lights from what i have seen on my plants.. and tall plants with dense canopy isn't good for leds.. plants around 2'-2.5' are pretty good IMO.. that was what i was shooting for since my last grow only stretched 6" but it back fired on me this grow.lol..

the main thing IMO is these leds are in its own class and we cant use light hight info from others leds because they use 1w leds.. its a whole new ball park.. ever since i have been using leds every one and company told me that three 1w leds are better then one 3w leds and i can now say that total BS.. common sense says the higher wattage the light source is the more intense the light is the better penetration equals more fatter buds down low and up top. its all about intense light and the right colors being used.. i cant wait until mike makes a 5w led light..

600W 24" from tops...just flipped to 12/12...

Will let y'all know on that. Even though it's a higher powered unit.

It's a little different from growing with HID, where you can look at a reference chart and see the effective range for different wattage bulbs.

All the additional variables like viewing angle, 1w vs 3w vs ?w, color-blending, different light designs, etc., on top of having different wattage lights.

Individual designs, even of similar wattage, could have different veg/bloom sweet spots due to other variables being different, so we just have to work out what they are.

I'm *very* pleased with the fact that I don't have to drop my GLH 300w down so low to flower that I lose significant coverage.

At 12-14", it's doing a great job of lighting up my 32" X 32" area. Maybe two 180's would do it even better, but I'm happy with the coverage from the 300.

There is a certain point where you lose penetration as you lower the light due to the canopy blocking too much, so at 12-14", there is actually much better penetration to the lower foliage than going lower.

Still digging this thread... Very helpful with my plans... OC+, MiracleGro Bloom, coco/perlite, hempys... just got my grow tent! :slide:

sounds like a green recipe to me ;)

Thanks Go!

I've been very curious about the distance to canopy for the 600w.

Still gotta get caught up on this but looking good from what I see. Just getting subbed :cheesygrinsmiley:

Those girls are pin up worthy :bravo:

You mention seaweed and molasses. Are these beauties in perlite? I've got perlite hempies with just OC+ that could use a bud boost, but I was under the impression organics in hydro might get messy. Do you think it could work?

I am continually impressed by how perfectly marijuana-like your plants are :) :welldone:
