300W LED 2x4x5 Tent Soil Grow

Ive thought about it a lot but i love dirt too much to go with coco or hydro. Just that smell of some good dirt really gets me going lol coco intrigued me more then hydro cause it was closer to soil and it flushes out way easier then soil. Im worried about it breaking down or some weird mold growing in it since it will always be wet and not have good bacteria to kill the bad bacteria or however all that works in the soil. Ive always grown in soil except for some spider plants i have tried to grow in just water but it requires too much maintenance lol it feels weird to grow in another medium.

I've always grown with soil also but the coco is intriguing. I'm gonna get a cheap brick from the pet store and try a bagseed run eventually. All my nutes are coco friendly so why not experiment in my imo. Maintenance might end up being a bitch but it's worth a shot! I'm sure that you could end up loving it like we love that musty smelling soil scent. I totally agree with the beneficial bacteria and actually would like to try composting some super soil for that reason. Any thoughts on the matter?

I can respect that love to work outside and n the dirt myself.

If you are interested check out LEDRF on 420. He has some interesting stuff.

Doggie i have some of those coco bricks from the pet store, i use them for my frogs substrate. I was thinking about it too but i dont want to use two different mediums at once lol yea i want to try some super soil and go organic eventually.. maybe this summer ill try it out and get it ready so i can go organic for my third grow! I know about ledrf.. thanks for the recommendation!

Ok guys update time, feeding tomorrow. Today is day 46 of flower. Got a bunch of pics, im hoping this humidity goes away its bugging me. Hasnt gotten lower then 43 during lights on and gets 65-70 at night. Thinking about buying a small dehumidifier but i read they dont do anything, you need an expensive one for it to work well.

Getting the rest of the stuff to finish off the grow friday cant wait. I think the flat chested phenotype that has the densest, smallest buds doesnt have seeds. The Hawaiian lady is definitely purpling up, cant wait to see her around harvest time. Damn it im getting so anxious guys the anticipation is killing me lol heres what i put in 1.75 gal water first bubbling almost 24 hours.

Tiger bloom 3.5 ml
Cha ching just under 1/8th tsp

Lowering the tiger bloom as i go cause it says to use less the last two weeks and i will be lowering the cha ching as i go too. This is what i will be putting in before i ph everything tomorrow.

Mammoth-p 1.8 ml
Big bloom 15 ml
Blackstrap molasses 1 ml
Hurculean harvest 15 ml
Bembe 7.5 ml
Pure blend tea 7.5 ml

Read more about the pure blend tea its not completely organic because of something they do in processing the product blah blah blah but you can add quite a bit of it with your other nutes and its really great for the terpenes and smell like i thought. Helps your soil out a lot too. Excited to be in the end phase its crazy guys cant believe ive made it so far its almost over!!
One way to lower rh is to lower temps....hot air holds more water vapor

Got the temps down to 63 in the tent lastnight and it still was 70 rh at the highest point. Oh well as long as it goes down during the day everything should be fine. Excited to see if the Hawaiian lady will purple up even more!
Ibe noticed having put a dehumidifier in my room and setting it to 35 it would stay around 42 ish though lol. But it did help drop the humity in my tent to around 40-55 ish That was getting up to 80 to 92 in flowering. Hope that helps.

Be careful with high R/H in flower... Your better off getting that dehumidifier if you plan on growing. Some strains react differently, but it is hell to find all your buds covered in a white coating. and it isn't trichomes. I keep mine 40. And know this,, molds are spores. They are just about everywhere outside. The more air flow, the more exposure to mold spores. You can filter your intake,, dustshooms or hepa filters work great, the shooms filter down to spore size and don't restrict your airflow any. But once your plant get spores on it, they stay dormant till the right temp and humidity germinate them. GL and Keepem Green

I'm sure I'm not supposed to link to other forums but this is what i read that helped my paranoia rest about high rh during flowering....
Lies our fathers told us humidity | THCFarmer Community

edit: i am no means claiming to know one way or the other is right, this is just something i read and found interesting when worrying about my own RH.

I will keep an eye out for that white coating.. im sure its tough to pick it out of the trichromes. I was a little worried i had seen some earlier today on my Hawaiian lady but hopefully she is getting frosty.. i looked closer and decided thats what it was. If not i can take my loupe and look at it and if there is something else besides a bunch of beautiful trichromes then i know im in trouble. I think molds have strand like spores so i know what to look for at least. Thanks for the heads up guys i appreciate it!

Been working to get my other veg spot set up while my ladies finish and im pleased with what i did. Its just behind a couch in the spare room and i MacGyvered a stand for my fluorescent lights. Just about to put the seeds in the dirt.. was waiting for the wet soil to warm up before i put them in. The lights are attached to a piece of wood and its held up by decently sturdy wall trim screwed in at the top. so much fun making stuff like this, heres my little set up.

When you look for PM it will appear as something like someone sprayed your leaves with fiberglass. Least that's what I see with a scope. I live in the PNW and molds and mildews run rampant. I've lived places I've never seen PM and others,, you can't finish a grow because. Like I said PM is a spore, if it lands on your plant and the right temp and R/H levels are there,, you will get PM. Cooler temps and higher R/H will germinate them spores. The trick is keeping spores off your plants. Then it woodn't matter what the R/H is. I'll just stick with keeping my room as inhospitable to them, and filter as many as posiable. It's all good till you get a infestaion. You watch how many plants are going to dry off this year when the fall outdoor crops start to come in. Bud rott everywhere,, as soon as the rains and high R/H of fall sets in. Trust me, I've been dealing with these problems alot over the past 40+ years. A oz of prevention type thing.. GL and Keepem Green

Yep yep i know exactly what it looks like then ill take a look tomorrow for sure.. hopefully i see nothing but shiny trichromes! Well i open my windows at night most of the time to get it cooler in the room so would that let spores in? Mold and stuff is sort of common where i live. Like every basement ive been in here has mold i swear. So im sure the spores are there, hopefully i havent woke the beast within. I always have my fans and exhaust on high at night too so that should keep the air flowing well.

Ok guys they are all set and ready to go.. incredible bulk and vanilla kush planted at 1 am on Saturday the 13th. Gave them a touch of water on top after putting them in the soil. Damn im so excited guys i really hope these ladies sprout for me. I saw a heating mat and stuff at walmart but it was 25 for the mat itself and decided to save my money. Hoping my method works like it always has.. i would be so bummed if this would be the time it fails to work lol

I saw the same heating mat and told my girl "if it wasn't 25 bucks I'd grab it" lol. Sending positive vibes that this will work like the rest of your germinations!
