Sorry to hear about your troubles with the seeds and seedlings Magoo. Yeah you definitely want to ditch the domes over the seedlings. Never had anything but issues with that when I used to try it. Thought my New England winters were too dry for seedlings and I tried domes. Killed about half the seedlings that way.
Ditched them and now no more issues. My RH is about 24-30% in the winter but can generally stay in 40% range in the tent and they do fine. Maybe not as good as the summer range of 55-65% but at least they live and grow healthy! Good luck brother.
Gonna give some thought to how I would run a perpetual in that limited space. I would do 4 plants for sure.....but all spaced about 4-5 weeks apart. I figure if plants generally go 9-10 weeks that gives you two in flower (4-5 weeks difference in age....think Week 7, Week 2. Meanwhile you have your next girl coming up the pipeline....vegging away. She will stay vegging until chop time for the oldest plant. Move your biggest veg girl into her place. Then your smallest veg plant, gets moved to main spot in the 2x2 to veg until its her time.
That would give you a new harvest every month and a good variety. I am a huge fan of having a perpetual vs running a full crop at the same age. I get very bored with that and hate down times between harvests. I will warn you.....things can get messed up relatively easily by some crazy growing plants so make sure you keep your training methods honed working in such a limited space.
