2020 Vision

Update:

Got the GG4 x Boptang, PuTang, and Bubba Kush in solo cups with high brix soil. Sprinkled some roots powder in the holes and on the roots and watered them with some Transplant drench. Smells like fish in here!:theband:
Made some little humidity domes by cutting the outer rim off some clear solo cups.

That way they fit snug over the cups with the soil! Planted them in clear solo cups as well so that I can watch root development and I also like to see that the soil all around the edge is wet after I water. These clear cups have holes for drainage on the sides and bottoms. They sit down in a red solo cup that catches any runoff, allows me to water some from the bottom, and protects the roots from light.

Flaming Cherries from Twenty20 Mendocino. These were part of a promotion that they had on New Year’s Eve. They called it free the seeds. First 500 people to apply received free seeds. I had posted on my last thread when this giveaway went live. I think @Gazoo was the only one who saw it in time to get in. If I ever come across anything like this again I’ll be sure to let everyone know ASAP.

Don' mean to keep piping up, but seedlings should grow out in the open air. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Cuttings want humidity, but seedlings do better without it.

Agreed the only time i would say put a dome would be under 20 percent rh

RH is only 29 in here. Is that not too low? My understanding was that the seedlings need high humidity in the very beginning. I’m not doubting what your saying, I trust your experience. I just want to make sure my thought processes are correct.

Good to know, So no dome on seedlings at least not after they get an inch or two in height but domes are good for clones up to a certain point. Once they get as tall as the dome they should be fine?

No dome will help the seed harden off. keeping a dome on the seedling will open up invitations for molds etc

Yup. And I think there's also something about transpiration rate, too. I wonder if there's anything documented. :hmmmm: It would have to do with VPD, right? Seedlings must want a different vapor pressure deficit than cuttings. Don' want to clog up the pores or plasts or whatever, with thick air?

You got me. I just focus on the roots from the start and keeping em healthy. I grow mostly by feel and what the plants tell me. Damn GT your a legend you have like 20 titles in your handle. So cool to see you still active after all these years.

:laughtwo:

It's great to see you here again, too! I still remember your ... Huckleberries? Wasn't that you? You were hard to keep up with.

:adore:
