2016 All B.I.D. Genetics Grow

Great Journal. I can't wait to see how everything turns out. When sexing plants I would put them outside early in the year, it works as a nice free grow while the plant figures out what it wants to do. This time around with my seeds I put them in 12/12 for their first three weeks and then raise the light time to 18/6 and they shown their sex at the same size as your purple. Makes things easier since I used to see flowers once they got to 8+ inches tall.
You keep your plants at 16/8 until they show flowers, how long does that usually take?

Thanks for the input. I put them out on March 15th last year, but I am not as concerned about sexing as I am having big plants to put outdoors some time in March/April. I had never grown an auto before, so that was quite interesting. I am sure I somehow had some outdoors last year. I don't want to shock them by forcing the pre-flowering...I am patient and have enough to last me a while. After I have females with viable clones going, the larger plants will go outside. I like to get two harvests. One in early Summer, one in the fall not to mention some indoor hydro. I have experimented by setting up larger space inside,(tent,HPS, MH) but the power bill was too much for me on a fixed income. I'll drop by and check out your journal.:allgood:

I was asked to post this link. King John C needs a new chair. For the complete story go HERE
Thanks :cheesygrinsmiley:

Okay, here's what you need to do... Keep on that shit, and NEUTER THAT BASTARD!! Let her flower out, but keep the nanners from opening and spoiling the batch, and contaminating your grow space.

And just so's ya know... Those male flowers are not PRE flowers... they're FLOWERS and the WILL OPEN SOON... CLIP THEM

I have it isolated in the cabinet but if you say neuter, neuter! :cheesygrinsmiley:

Hozona if you want fem seeds I would use the colloidal silver. Using a plant that hermies by itself is asking for seeds that bear the same hermie trait. You will forever be dealing with male flowers on those plants.

BID used it, but have never tried it. I'll look into it. That plant was from my BID seeds, so I am not sure what happened. Thanks! :cheesygrinsmiley:

Thanks Shiggity. I have heard that a LOT of factors can cause a plant to "hermie" including, but not limited to, shock from transplant and nutrient deficiency, so I usually isolate them from the rest and if I get some seeds I have a chance of getting male, female, and hermie seeds according to what I have read somewhere...when I get my mothership/clones going I will have ALL females. I kept the same strain going for 5 years :cheesygrinsmiley:
I have been experimenting the last couple of years with other strains and love the cross I made of BID seeds (my HYBID) :cheesygrinsmiley:

Isolated or not, that pollen will float every-frikkin-where and chances are high that it will find its way to other places, including your other flower box, especially if it's in the same room. All it takes is a puff of air as you close the door, and you're screwed. Pollen can float in the air for HOURS and it will remain viable for weeks as long as it stays dry. Your exhaust fan in the other box can draw it in, and defile your otherwise pristine girls. If you don't get on it, and stay on it, you really could be in for a WORLD of shit. I've seen guys get seeds in their grow MONTHS later from a hermie a grow before. Don't set yourself up.

When I say isolate, I mean outdoors where I have choices of locations. But the point is moot anyway, I pulled it today. It grew pollen sacs where the pistils were

SO IT'S GONE!
Thanks for the input Jandre! :cheesygrinsmiley:

I was so impressed by what I saw on Cola Monster's journal I decided to order some beans to experiment with. I ordered Auto Bubble Gum Autoflowering Feminised 5 Seeds Per Pack and FREE: 1 X Dinafem OG Kush Feminised Seed, 2 X Afghani Regular Seeds :yahoo:
I also removed my chenille ties from my larger plants and they are maintaining their shape as I expected they would. I have removed them later before, but there was no reason to leave them on once I had the bush shape I was looking for. Still waiting for them to declare. I put them out on the 15th of March last year, but I am going to be patient and wait for them to tell me when...what's the hurry, right? :cheesygrinsmiley:

Still waiting for some sign of sex in my 6 plants. I got my new neoprene inserts for my bucket cloner and two adjustable hangers for my two large cfl lights.
Down below are 2 P-ROC and 1 HYBID in my AERO/DWC set-up.

Once the plants on top go outdoors, I will be stacking this like the previous ones I've used.

Outdoor veggie garden is loving the weather and the composted soil mix.
The HYBID, started to LST this baby early

I also did LST on the P-ROC

Being patient is not one of my better attributes. Waiting for my plants to declare is like watching paint dry

I think waiting THIS long, we've got all females. Hey, switch to GLR! That'll tell ya who ya got!

12 on
5.5 off
1 on
5.5 off

I use it for 2-3 months to prep all my girls for flower. They stay in Vegetative Growth because the 1 hour on at "night" is enough to break the flower cycle from starting, but the flower hormone does begin to build, and I've had a few plants ONLY express under GLR. PLUS! It makes transition shorter, and thus STRETCH is shorter. AND it'll save you a little bit on the power bill going down from 18 hours to 13 hours of light per day.

Jandre. actually have been on DLS and had just been on 12/12 for two days. Upon closer inspection today I found 1 pistil on a P-ROC plant. :slide:
I will be watching the rest closely, but if males declare first, I may just have all girls.:wood: I didn't take a picture of my 1 pistil today, thought I'd wait for a couple more. I also cleaned and scrubbed my bucket cloner and have the new inserts in place. I would like to get 4 P-ROC and 4 HYBID and 4 K-ROC clones going after I get the plants transplanted outside. If everything goes as I hope I will have two harvests. One harvest of these 6 plants in early Summer and then another of the clones this Fall. And if my AERO/DWC produces, even more...and that doesn't include my beans coming from one of our sponsors. Gonna be a busy Summer! :cheesygrinsmiley:
