1st Time Grower Box Build - 1st Clones And New Grow - Maui Wowie - GDP - LA Kush

flood the growing space with c02 . if your space is not where you breath. do that every 3 days for about 12 days. kills them all.
or
sesame seed oil is toxic to mites and you can make your own . lower the temp in the space it slows them down alot and keep fans on plants they dont like wind at all. use the spray and let it sit. then rinse plants.
spray.....
1 gallon water.plain not ph adjusted.
1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon of dish soap[liquid]cheep stuff.
3 cigerette buts.
fine crushed red pepper about 1 teaspoon.
1 tablespoon of sesamee seed oil.
scape as many of the mites you can into a spoon and crush them[add to solution.] 20% of any population has a disease that is killing it.
put all in gallon container and let sit over nite. strain with coffie filter. put in sprayer and 50/50 dilution.
shake it up while useing it.
the red pepper kills some. the nicotine kills alot. the soap drowns some and keeps it in solution. the sesame seed oil kills all of them that gets touched by it.
the dead bugs get thier body protective oils washed off by the solution and the virus or bacteria that was killing the sick ones gets in the entire mite population [ kills the colony off] like putiing it in their bodys direct. and the disease stay around for awhile in your system.
i use the outside with 100% success and c02 for inside with 100% success. both work great indoor as indoor mites are sometimes harder to kill. but c02 at 19% in the grow area kills all bugs. you may need to add microbes for soil. as some of my grower friends have done. i never had too. micro brew is part of my regimine.
i leave the spray on for about an hr. then rinse and reapply for another hr. then rinse again. i do that every 3 days till i hit day 12[the last day] .
i have gotten mites 2 weeks before harvest and they are a large colony when your plants show the tiny spots. and used the solution to kill them off with no harm to the plants or potency. the plants will sometimes burn outside if temps are high and solution is left on too long but they imedeatly recover if rinsed.it dosent hurt soil at all and kills bad bugs there as well but for a soil bug killer i do a diferent method . mostly preemtive mesures.
the c02 is the easy way for indoor. if your plants are in pots and easy to dunk into solution. do that. not everyone is set up to be able to dunk plants. when dunking use alot more soap. the soap itself will do most of the killing by drowning them. borax is the best soap but cheep ass liquid dish soap works fine.

Scopopulus wins the three cool points .... and a +rep. It was my blue jeans.

Unfortunatley, my laptop is still not up to speed. I can't get this site to run properly on my laptop. So, I'll still be hit and miss for a while.

Unfortunately, I kept chasing mites between my veg box and my flower box. I would treat one and the next morning the other would be overrun again. And so on and so forth. It hit my seedlings really hard. I don't think any will make it. They ate them overnight. So, I got pissed of and decided to harvest. I cut them all down and saved the buds as is. They hadn't really done any damage to the buds yet, so I figured if I waited any longer, I would start loosing buds. These fucking things did so much damage to my plants that I don't think they would have gotten much bigger anyway. Plus I was only about 10 days for the actual harvest day I picked. So, be it. At least I got some buds out of it and I can turn the trim and stuff to RSO.

I'll post up some pics of my harvest tomorrow. I put up some clothes lines in my flower box to do the initial hang and dry. In 5 or 6 days, I'll take them down and place them into the drying racks.

So, both boxes are getting whacked with hot bleach water and pyrethrun. Then, I will let them sit for a week and half more ....so the eggs (if there are any left) will be able to complete thier life cycle. I'll treat again afterwards and then, re-seed and start from scratch.

I was tired of chasing bugs from one box to another. So, I am bombing the whole exterior room. Nuking everything. I figured to try and continue at this point would be like treating yourself for a venerial disease while you are still banging the hooker that gave it to ya. It's gotta end somewhere ..... LOL.

I'll post up pics of my drying harvest and do a lessons learned before putting this into the completed section. I'll also do a smoke report .... although I already did one. I want to thank everybody that took the ride with me. It was so much fun and I learned so much. My 2nd grow will be much better. I've learned from many mistakes this time around.

Maybe some of the mites packed up and moved into your computer..
That sucks big time brother.
Sorry to hear they're not leaving you alone!
Hopefully the BIG bomb will get em all DEAD!

Wooo HOOO ..... finally got my computer back to normal. So, I'm back online.

OK .... here's my harvest at 60 days of flower. About 10 sooner than I would have liked. Mostly clear with about 20 percent cloudy trichomes. I realized there really isn't room in the drying rack area to hang freshly cut large branches. So, I hung some clothes lines in the flower box for the initial week of hanging. Then, they will be manicured off the large branches and put into the shelves in the drying area.

The first row is the LA Kush. Not much yeild at all. But very easy to clone. I think the bugs got it right before it was getting ready to produce and they stalled it out.

The second row (or middle row) is the GDP which turned out pretty good.

The third row (back row) is the Maui Wowie. It turned out OK ... but is a little more airy than I would have liked. Since it's mostly Sativa, I'm sure it could have sit and cooked for a 2 - 3 more weeks with good results.

I'm sure I'll get a couple ounces out of it. As long as I get enough dry meds to make up for the price of the equipment, i'll be happy.

I did get a good amount of trim. Even if I didn't get as much bud as I would have liked. I got 4 good drawers full of trim to use to make some RSO. So, it's deffinitely not a loss.

Hey there Mutt! Just look at all that beautiful bud, I know you have had the bane of the bugs and that blows, but I agree with you, they were almost ready to go anyway so harvesting was the best thing to do at this point in time. I wish you all the VERY best with the next batch too. :cheer: Oh and if you ever have a an infection again on your computer that you are finding hard to remove I could def help you out.

Thanks for sharing your grow with us!

Don't forget to head over to the 420 Strain Reviews forum and post a smoke report there when you're ready to! :cheer:

I’m moving this to Completed Journals now.

Hope all is well in your world.

Love and respect from all of us here at 420 Magazine! :Namaste:

Well,

I went down and weighed the harvest. It's close to getting jarred up for curing ..... should be ready in a couple more days. The GDP and the LA Kush each gave me 2.1 and 2.3 (respectively) ounces. And, the Maui gave me 2.5 ounces. I'm really happy with the results. Could have been better ..... and will be next time around.

There was more on them than I thought. It didn't look like that much when I hung them up. But, after clipping the buds off the stems and putting them into aluminum turkey roaster pans to finish drying, I could tell I had more than I thought.

Sorry to hear about the mites mutt. But glad you got something out of it.

I've been fortunate to not have mites in my grows and I live in an area that has tons of them. Here's what I do before a grow starts.

1. Wash all walls with a lite bleach water mix.
2. vacuum (if area carpeted, otherwise mop) entire area including at least 20 feet of entry into the room.
3. Spray all baseboards, floors, carpet with Home Defense (from wally world or home despot) at least 4 times over a two week period before starting grow.
4. Spray entry ways and areas around grow, during grows about once every 4-6 weeks. This is a light spraying just to maintain.

I never enter my grow area with street clothes or shoes that have been outside recently. Prevention is the best cure.

if you can saturate with co2 and not suficate yourself that really kills them all. or use a home made spray with sesamee seed oil[very toxic to mites. got to do it every 3 days for up to 11 or 12 days to break cycle. also mites hate wind , and cold. they slow down big time.
