And I think you're all right on the money. Wheel, that's a GREAT idea, and I don't need to spend any money. I'll just do 4 most likely!

And like you all mentioned, I've got "stock" on hand, no sense in getting nutty with it. I guess just reading all these journals, sometimes it feels like a "competition", but you guys have put it into perspective perfectly!

So I'll take a little time, finish up the trim (got a lot done last night, but didn't finish), clean the room, finish up the LowRyders (about another 2 weeks), then we'll start something small!

NEF. I totally can relate to what you are embarking on man! And you have twice as many plants as me, if I recall correctly. :cheesygrinsmiley: - You should be busy for quite a bit...

I can also say that I have the utmost respect for all the perpetual growers out there!! I honestly don't know how you guys do it, but I guess if I had patients depending on meds, that would be a driving factor which would negate some of the BS involved.

I'm really thankful for all the guidance you guys have provided!!!

its been slow...honestly...cuz my ph has been around 7.5!! She has been eating from her lower big fan leaves so she still is surviving,,but i just ordered some GH ph down, and i got the trio fox farm nutes....i was wondering/hoping you might know any thing about them? Cuz im already in flowering so can i just start usin tiger bloom then? and what ppm? idk, just IF you know lol thanks man..

Haven't moved outside GH nutes. Hopefully, one the of the guys might be able to help you out. I know Wheel and Butch have been through several mfg. Fox Farm is pretty popular.

Now you've got me all concerned for you bro! (I'll "freeze" my chat on my journal, till a couple of the other guys might be able to offer some assistance).

well...haha the problem is...all out of ph down and for real, the non-liquid ph down sucks!!! if you use enough to get to where you want it, you check the res the morning after, and algae is infested or whatever white slimey gunk was. but i cant wait to get my ph down and fox nutes in the mail!! ill let you know asap when i can give a more accurate update haha thanks again bud.

We seem to learn the same lessons. I did the exact same thing. I'm sitting on a ton of the powder ph down. Blech. When I found out how difficult it was to work with, I ordered a gallon of the PH Down. Dude, I wish we lived close, I'd drop it off to you! OrangeBlood, (aka The Bandit) might have used the FF nutes, if you haven't gotten them yet, hopefully one of the guys will see by then and help you out.

Hey stink i followed ur first journal with the six plants and i was thinking of gettin the ebb and grow capp also. i have a small 5x6 space with 6'7" ht Bcuz its so small i was going to do the six buckets as well do you think the 1000w magnum xxxl is to much for the space, i do have somewhere to vent? also congrats on the journal great grow!

Smooth. If ventilation is not going to be a problem, then that amount of light might just be perfect. Now I'm speaking from a practical standpoint, and not so much a mathematical equation.

The rough grow light calculation is:
Formula: (Length x Width) x 50 (For yours it works out to like 1500w).

For Example, my room is larger than yours and I only used a 1000w light, with what I think turned out to be "decent" yield. I also used a light mover which I'm sure helped with light penetration and coverage. If you haven't already purchased your gear, you might consider doing 2x600w?

In any case, I don't think you'll be disappointed by the 1000 watter!

Let's see what some of the more experienced guys say. They'll offer up some opinions.

man u did damm good ur first hydro grow. i only hope to do as well. i been thinking about gettin this systm for a while and when i saw you take the plunge with great results in my opinon i was motivated. My problem is < idont plan on staying in this space for to long and dont want to rebuy stuff bcuz i already have the lights, but if it get to hot in there then i might just sell the 1000w to a buddy dunno just thuoght i would here some suggestions.

Yeah, no one ever talks about the clean-up. It's always on to the nice trimmed bud pictures for Plant-of-the-month. :rofl: It's BS and I wish I could have the cleaning lady put that on her checklist.

DUDE. Last night while jarring up the goods, I was looking for something to watch on the tube and low and behold, another Golden Oldie. Have you seen, "Breaker...Breaker" with Chuck Norris? Total cheeze-dick movie, but what the hell, it's classic truckin!!!

I've been doing the sweeping thing, but didn't even occur to me to use the shop-vac....doh! I guess I was concerned about the wet leaves, but hell that shouldn't matter, it is a wet vac. +reps for pointing out something so simple!

Finally, on to serious biz, have you used FoxFarm, brother grower Miller above had a question or two and I was just trying to get him someone experienced with that mfg.

I think you're definitely on the right track.

To put your mind "at ease", the CAP ebb-n-grow, is a give in. Once you have that you're set. The lights you can always change. Several other guys here all used this system for their 1st Grows and subsequent grows and I don't know anyone that has complained. The yields are almost always impressive and other than a few growing/learning curves, there's a bunch of us here that can help you out.

My experience with FF was only for soil. The Tiger Bloom is meant to work with Big Bloom. FF has a hydro feed chart for these nutes but it seems that everybody who use the line up for hydro has issues. Mostly because of the microbial digestion that will occur with the organic materials that are in those nutes and the hard to maintain ph. I know it sucks but I would go in another direction if it was my garden. GH, Dutch Master, H&G etc all make excellent hydro nutes that eliminate the hassles related to FF

It's been a long time since I saw that film. I actually met Chuck about two years ago thru this promo campaign he was on to promote a fighting league he was involved in. Super cool guy! He even did a roundhouse demo scaring the crap out of my boss when Chuck's foot stopped only millimeters from his face. It was awesome!
Another great trucker flick is White Line Fever. That 'ol boy takes it on the chin all thru the movie and then crashes his semi thru Mr.Bigs mansion at the end. Great stuff!
I wonder how many Firebirds Universal went thru to get that shot?

Note to the mods- I need a firebird burning rubber smile for my postings. Kinda like the little surfer dude but a bad ass Trans Am with smoke coming off the tires!:rollit:

haha!! yes i wish we lived close too! it would be nice to be able to lend fellow growers/friends certain things, like instead of all of us buying stuff and then having stuff left over! haha in a perfect world though right? But yeah hopefully i can jump on amazon and switch my order up! And a big shout out to OB too thanks man for the input! good to know since my ph is already all over the place!! haha
