1st Grow: Blue Dream

I see a little amber, how do you like your smoke/stone?
hows the uniformity across the buds?
Flushing? Tapering? just Watering?
All at once or a little at a time cutter?
I want mostly cloudy. I will hit them with foxfarms sledgehammer tomorrow which is a flush but I will continue to feed nutes after that. Probably gonna just do at a lesser strength. I can get a better pic tomorrow of a bud and mark it up showing areas of more amber.

When did you start feeding half strength? Is that so you don't need to flush at the end? Buds are fascinating

Lots of amber but the rest look more clear than cloudy. I ve never been able to see a full cloudy bud. So it s hard to tell but they are sure very close! @nobodyhere asked very questions! Answering them will give you the answer on when to harvest

Personally I would harvest them now. I like more a high than a stone. You could always cut down half then give them other half an extra week.

From what I ve seen so far, when trichromes are clear with some amber, it s like the amber melt in the clear to become cloudy. Later this cloudy turns into amber. It s not proven, but it s what my eyes have seen many time with the microscope. Morever, 45 days seems short for an HSO blue dream. They say 8-9 weeks but many growers report 9-10 weeks. Mine took 11 from flip. I would still wait

I’ve been half strength the whole grow. Except for a bit when I was full strength on some of the organic stuff.

I would just keep a close eye daily after the slegehammer, I have a flush chem, but only use in dire straits.
The sledgehammer is an organic product made of yucca that basically just flushed salts and relieves surface tension. Probably not really necessary but with the dramatic change in leaf color I’ll probably mix it with boomerang which is their “bounce back” product. I’ll feel good with a clean slate for the last little bit.

I have a mini fridge coming on Tuesday. May consider taking some then so I can try the low and slow drying method.

Is there something I could have done that made them start turning amber early?

I don't think so. I think you did pretty well. Wait for some experts advise but again I ve seen clear and amber many times before I could see milky. They say it is first clear then goes milky then amber but in my case I never really so most of the trichs going from clear to cloudy. There was always a stem with clear amber before and it s like to little amber was melting later with the clear to become cloudy. I know it sounds weird but it s just what I think my eyes have seen so far. Do you have a microscope for closer look?

I have a loupe that gets pretty magnified but I feel like I shake too much. Lol

Haha that's why I had bought a microscope. I couldn't stop shaking the magnifier
